Misleading, Drop-Shipped Watches from a Hong Kong Shell Company
Misleading, Drop-Shipped Watches from a Hong Kong Shell Company
I placed Order #1387 on June 28, 2025 from what appeared to be a luxury European watchmaker, Watson’s Watches, which advertised $300–$500 “heritage” timepieces at steep liquidation discounts. What I received was something entirely different.
🛑 Here’s what I actually got:
Five watches, all clearly mass-produced in China, with no Watson’s branding anywhere.
Only two were in plain cardboard boxes (marked “TRSOYE” and “Di i id,” with Chinese characters), and three were just wrapped in bubble wrap or plastic sleeves.
All watches were sealed in cellophane with metal bands wrapped separately, seemingly to conceal the poor construction.
One watch has a jammed clasp, though the band is so long it slides over my wrist — clearly not luxury craftsmanship.
🏷️ Product Label Evidence:
Barcode labels like “10NSZ33822901AZ – Silver Case Green Surface Belt” and “10SY137427407GT – Silver white” are identical to bulk listings on AliExpress and Alibaba.
One watch was visibly branded DEYROS, a known budget Chinese watch brand — not affiliated with anything described on Watson’s website.
🧾 Shipping & Company Info:
My package shipped from Mainland China under tracking #YT2518000702452674.
The company’s support is run through Re:amaze and Mailgun, and emails initially responded in German, despite me writing in English — clearly automated or AI-generated replies.
The actual business, as listed in the website’s Terms & Conditions, is:
Mode Galerie Limited
UNIT 1005, 10/F, BOSS COMMERCIAL CENTRE
28 FERRY STREET, YAU MA TEI, KOWLOON, HONG KONG
🚨 Fake Reviews Are Likely
Most 5-star reviews here read like AI-generated lifestyle copy. One reviewer even mentions a “convertible tote-backpack watch pairing” — a nonsense combination that no watch company would sell.
⚖️ Final Verdict:
Watson’s Watches is a drop-shipping front posing as a luxury brand, selling $15 watches for $139+, backed by a fabricated story, fake packaging, and likely AI-written reviews. This is not just disappointing — it’s deceptive.
I’ve filed complaints with the FTC, Shopify Trust & Safety, and the Better Business Bureau, and I encourage others to do the same. If you’re looking at Watson’s Watches, save your money and stay far away.
