Great support and useful plugins, but complex software

Great support and useful plugins, but the Waves Central software is designed in unnecessarily complex way. It does not allow to choose system location during installation, and I even had to change my Windows user name because the software could not be installed. Normal plugins are just installed and they work, but Waves is not so user-friendly.

Okay the was easier then I thought

Okay, again they bailed me out of a confusing fix. I recently changed out my NIC card to support 2Gigablast internet with Cox and had no idea why I could see my plugins but without hesitation Khussh from Presales and Support went to work to get me up and running. Only took about 15minutes so now I'm back to mixing. Thanks team for never letting me forget why I buy the best plugins in the industry. sincerely Mudsykle

Long time user

I've been using Waves Plugins for at least 25 years and they have always been there for me. The only time I've had to call support is when changing computers and they always are there to help me sort the whole uninstalling and reinstalling again process.

Take Note Sound Forge (Magix) and Steinberg...

Since Windows ended support for version 10, I had to upgrade to Windows 11, which caused issues with older plug-ins. I nearly gave up on my ‘Waves’ plugins, but thanks to Gal Aner, your knowledgeable and courteous tech advisor, I recovered all of them after other attempts failed.

Gal’s prompt responses and persistence matched the high standard I experienced with Israel Papa last year.

If only Sound Forge (Magix) or Steinberg were as helpful, the digital recording world would be even better.

An Important Caveat: I think to add balance though, I must add that in order for this to be resolved after much effort on both sides, I did have to eventually pay a modest fee to have all of my plug-ins made valid for the Windows 11, but having said that, WAVES did at least offer a solution unlike Sound Forge/Magix where due to totally being ignored and a BOT support system, I’ve lost £150 and an "important" piece of my studio now because I cannot re-register a previous plug in of ten years.

I guess it’s the devil you know, which, after all, is affected by Windows making version 10 obsolete, not these companies.

Sincerely Yours
David Okangba (Cornwall, England)

I had a major problem with my MacBook…

I had a major problem with my MacBook Pro. First an USB-C Output was defective and the MacSystem Store here had to erase the Hard Disk to repair it. Then once again, my MacBook had problems booting up. The Motherboard was defective and they had to once again erase my Hard Disk to replace the Motherboard. Of course that is a big problem to activate Waves again. I explained my problem to the Waves Team and provided proof by sending them photos of prompts and my receipts. They assisted me and I got the Licenses activated once again. Thanks Waves Team!

The plugins are massively let down by licensing

The plugins are massively let down by the licensing system. Nothing should be so hard or complicated for the end user. Also, if you have Hyper-V enabled of a PC (I suspect any virtualisation technology) then you will find that the licensing system totally breaks.

So I have a wave a subscription that…

So I have a wave a subscription that cost me £200 a year. This year they decided to charge me twice. When I contacted them to get a refund on one they told me ... no they have only charge me once and the other payment.... that had fully cleared my bank btw (not pending) taken. Would be back in my bank I'm a few days.

Well £200 is a lot to lose from your bank out of nowhere of course. Anyway waves did infact refund me through PayPal (proving they did realise they charged me twice and manually refunded me) due to conversion rates the refund we £10 less then they had taken In the first place. I'm waiting to see how they respond. Customer service have a terrible attitude. This company are scammers.
