Weatherspoon Duty of Care

On having lunch at a Weatherspoon I suffered an allergic reaction from an ingredient not shown on menu.
On contacting customer service I met with Arthur Weatherspoon who dismissed me there was no immediate care or apology and by not addressing the issue directly was inappropriate this points to a need for better training in customer service and responses related to food safety concerns.
Customers should be treated with respect and care, especially when health concerns are involved. Appalling duty of care!

Poor food, very poor service

a visit to the asking of Wessex, Bath. We ordered a meal for 4. Three of the meals turned up with over cooked chips! How on earth could a chef get cooking chips wrong!
The 4th Meal turned up 20 minutes late, it was a ham and mushroom pizza, that sat on the hot plate all the time we were eating the other meals. The pizza was totally inedible. We had no apology for the delay. The staff at this branch don't even know how to go to a manager and deal with a genuine complaint. Utterly disgusted with the quality and standards of service!

Disappointed in west kirby whetherspoons

Went to west kirby with friends and ordered some food today about 15.30-16.00pm. It was busy but not too busy for a Saturday but for some reason we waited ages for our food. When it came out all the meals came separately and two were cold and were sent back, they didn’t provide a steak knife and the lad who brought them out was very miserable looking and didn't speak at all. Overall very poor performance from whetherspoons so won’t be going back again.

Unfriendly even hostile atmosphere. Out of character for a Spoons

Let me start by saying, everyone loves Spoons. However last night I visited The Manor House Royston Herts. The fire wasn’t lit, it was freezing cold and the staff to a man where the grumpiest bunch of shits I have ever come across. I regularly visit Spoons establishments across this land and always receive a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. NOT in THIS place!! I am told by friends that it’s always a negative, unfriendly atmosphere in there and I must say I was surprised.
Come on guys, your better than this!!

Canned cocktails and missing food

Been going to wetherspoons for years and been to the Paddle Steamer in Largs before. We ordered around £70 worth of food and drinks for 6 of us. We ordered a strawberry daiquiri and a Espresso martini not knowing they were out of a can ( which is not specified anywhere)which tasted disgusting We ask to speak to Lee (manager) he told me they cannot do anything . No proper conversation, didn't really listen to complaint as he just shut me down . After this the food arrived missing 5 chicken breast pieces and ordered 8 scampi bites but only 5 arrived . Spoke to Lee whom rectified straight away and apologised But don't understand why not rectify the drinks situation. They were untouched and the reason given was they were out if a can. Which wasn't reasonable for me as an explanation

Old Kirk

Old Kirk, Ayr which is a lovely venue which I visit fairly regularly. Today I enquired if my apple iPods had been handed in as I had mislaid/ lost them. Great staff had found them left on the table by me. This was two weeks ago and they had held them for me in the office.
Wonderful honest staff and clientele. I enter the New Year very happy . Thank you Weatherspoons!

White Swan Solihull

White Swan Solihull

Tim Martin would be so disappointed 😢

Absolutely terrible food that could not be eaten. We saw the waitress pick chips up from the floor and return to a plate. The carpet around the table was sticking to our shoes!!!

The first beer I was brought had to be returned as the barrel was found to be to be faulty... really everything could not be worse ..

The Golden Bee Stratford Upon Avon

I visited The Golden Bee in Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday, with some friends. We were paying separately, so we stood at different parts of the bar to wait for service. After 15 minutes of being completely overlooked by the staff, I began to ask the people around me how long they had been waiting—they confirmed they had been waiting even longer, at least an additional 10 minutes.

At this point, I took notice of the situation and observed that most of the bar staff appeared to be focused solely on a screen, preparing drinks without acknowledging the real customers standing at the bar. The one staff member serving customers at the far end seemed disorganized and unaware of who was next in line, serving people at random.

When I finally caught the attention of one of the staff members, I politely asked why the focus seemed to be on the screen rather than on the customers waiting at the bar. Instead of a professional or helpful response, such as an apology or even reassurance that I would be served soon, I was told abruptly, “You need to leave right now.”

This response was not only uncalled for but also incredibly poor customer service. I was not rude or confrontational; I simply questioned why customers were being overlooked. I would have happily directed the staff to serve the person next to me, who had been waiting far longer than I had.

To highlight the situation further, the staff member in question—who had distinct half-pink and half-green hair and facial piercings—clearly lacked professionalism in their interaction. I understand that businesses are incorporating technology to streamline operations, but ignoring customers standing right in front of you is unacceptable.

I felt compelled to share my experience because no customer should be treated in such a dismissive and disrespectful manner. Staff training in customer service and queue management appears to be urgently needed. While I will not be returning after this experience, I hope my feedback prompts improvements for the sake of other customers in the future.

Goodman’s Field, Tower Hamlet- Gem of a pub

We stayed in the hotel next door and instead of eating there we went to Spoons called Goodman’s Field. Absolute gem of a Wetherspoons with very quick service. The food was lovely as was the breakfast. The ale went down a treat and door staff very friendly. This place is a credit to the brand.

Me and my 2 friends were out for dinner…

Me and my 2 friends were out for dinner as we have many times before on a Friday night ranging from times from 5-9pm and never had an issue before so the waiter comes over and Rudely interrupts my conversation bluntly asking if we if have ID and demanding we leave if we didn’t extremely impolitely not even explaining why turns out there is an age restriction we’ve never had a problem with before causing us too have to be kicked out from a meal that was supposed to be a cheer up meal for me and my friends severely disappointed and will not be returning as I am distraught

Worst Christmas lunch ever…

Had Christmas lunch in Weatherspoons Prince of Wales Cardiff yesterday. It was the worst Christmas lunch I've ever had. The only edible bits were the turkey, which was moist but thinly cut, and the peas. The mashed potato had been sitting on the plate for so long it had formed a crust, there were two spoonsful of undercooked diced swede, three tiny dried out carrots, two shrivelled tiny pigs in blankets, no parsnips, no roast potatoes, a stuffing ball and a small pot of runny cranberry sauce, the gravy was a peppery runny juice. The waiter said he'd pass our complaints to the chef - the chef?? - I doubt that any proper chef would have produced such awful food. I didn't have high expectations of the lunch, other people chose the venue, but it was way below bog-standard. If it hadn't been for the included drink, it would have been a total waste of money!

No standards - no customer service- no care Grantham for the…

Went to weatherspoons Grantham for the first time since covid, what the hell has happened to customer service and standards, ordered fish and chips x2 it arrived after 30 plus mins both plates of food were cold and fish well over cooked, returned it!, several mins later, it arrived piping hot ! But it was the same food microwaved the lemon slice was wilted and burning hot, so I returned it as trying to cut the fish was difficult as the the fish and batter was hard and over Crisp , they took it away for the third time, “well you can imagine what came back ?
Fish over cooked ! Microwaved twice over
Peas rock hard microwaved 3 times over, chips re heated 3 times over!, we asked for the manager? Omg what customer service skills she had? Yolanda no empathy-no apology- -no interest-no compassion and no idea of service levels.
Weatherspoons please train your staff to show empathy and compassion or at least a bit of interest, she offered no understanding or any form of wanting to have repeat service,
Won’t be returning, yet we have great service in weatherspoons melton Mowbray, Stamford , Plymouth is it just Grantham that has no service levels or interest in repeat service, the table next to us were horrified in the food we were served, hence they didn’t order and went to another place, let’s see your response???

unresolved issue for months

I am still waiting to hear back from an issue about the Foley Arms Hotel in Malvern - i have not heard back from them since august this year despite replying to their message.
they offered us a voucher to stay in their hotel on another occasion, but we are not planning to travel back to Malvern.
Not replying back to me is as bad as the inadequate room we were allocated.
This issue needs to be resolved.

Terrible management in Milton Keynes

Terrible management in Milton Keynes, 201 Midsummer Blvd.

The Duty Manager decided that he would refuse all drinks due to one person being underage in the bar.

So instead of getting that 17 year old girl removed, he prevented all drinks from being sold to anyone in the bar in case they passed a drink to that person.

Such an overreaction and ridiculous policy to then refuse customers drinks instead of just managing the problem at source.

Think senior management need to look at this issue and prevent adolf hitlers behind the bar from exercising the little authority they have been given

Montagu puke

Montagu puke. 1 person being served no one else waiting when I come to the bar a good minute while waiting another person arrives stands in front of the bar man then gets served as he finishes serving the customer before me paid no attention to me whatsoever even though I'm 1 metre to the left of him. Not aware of his surroundings at all. Fair enough id the bar was busy . I was the only person waiting when I arrived. Useless.

Poor selection of real ale today…

Usually reasonable service and real ale choices but particularly poor on latest visit with only two taps working with standard offering. Still served Abbot Ale well past it's best
