"Forever will it dominate your destiny" - Yoda

Heb Hosting Hub enticed me to join with a $60/year rate.
Then it auto-renewed yearly at twice that rate.
While competing rates dropped, my billings stayed the same.
I finally decided to get off the Web Hosting Hub freight train.
That's when the real problems began.

There is no option in the Account Management Panel to turn off auto-renew.
There is no option in the panel to cancel.
You have to TALK TO support to cancel.
Emailing them is apparently NOT an option for cancelling. (Google their support page entitled "How do I cancel my hosting account?" Archived on Wayback Machine 30 Mar 2019 and other dates.)

So I called their vaunted 24/7 support on an early Saturday afternoon.
5 minutes into a phone hold with no end in sight...
... so I started a chat session. I was #10 in line!
Now, more than 20 minutes into the phone hold, I am #7 in line.
At this rate I'll be holding for a chat operator for MORE THAN AN HOUR just to cancel my account.

I feel like I'm in Hotel California.
I can "check out" anytime I like, but I can never leave.

Beware. "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny." - Yoda
They want you in, but they've made it outrageously impossible to get out.

Cheap? Count the hidden cost of waiting and waiting on hold.

Update:
- After 36 minutes on hold: No answer yet, position 5 in chat queue.
The saga continues.
- After 1 hour and 17 minutes, finally spoke with an operator and got the account cancelled. Made sure I got it in writing/email as evidence, due to online reports of them making unauthorized charges on cards.
- At 1 hour and 20 minutes, STILL waiting in the chat queue. Position 2. Outrageous!)
- AT ONE HOUR AND 30 MINUTES, MY POSITION IN THE QUEUE SUDDENLY CHANGED FROM #2 to #20. WITHOUT ANY INTERACTION OR WARNING. :-0 Outrageous! It's a good thing I called too.

PS. Apparently you CAN cancel an account by email/verified support ticket, but they don't (want to) tell you that on the support page. Operator said that they used to have an Account Management Panel option for clients to just let the account expire, but they DISABLED it. IMO, this company is using coercion to keep renewals artificially high. Avoid at all costs.

PPS. Their AMP > Billing > Change Term page showed that the current rate for my account type is only $55/yr. I'm being overcharged. No automatic discount was ever offered.

Their server crashed and no…

Their server crashed and no communication was sent to their clients. They restored a very old version of my website. I have been paying for their back up service. When I queried why they restored such an old version I was told they had stopped backing up my website as the size was now bigger than the max size in my back up plan. They never advised me of this and now all my recent data and new website is lost.

Server gone down and they lost all my data

Server gone down and they lost all my data. They uploaded a backup they had from 2016 which lost all my data. When you call then no one can help you out. All they say is "I can only apologise" and actually do nothing.
The servers themselves are very slow, we were on the fastest one Dynamo but still simple sites took forever to load.

Excellent host

Been using Web Hosting Hub since 2013 and am very pleased with their service. I manage several e-commerce and content websites that have some moderately complex features. I have never had a single issue that couldn't be quickly resolved. Price, support, features, and uptime are all excellent. I have referred several clients that are very happy as well.

Horrible server response time

Horrible server response time! Completely optimized website ruined by extremely slow servers. Support simply try to blame it on the customer by copy-pasting a message about different ways to improve the site, but everything has been optimized and tested. All the recommended speed testing tools clearly show that the server is the problem and not the actual site. I eventually switched hosting and saw an instant improvement.
Avoid at all cost!

Total disaster!! The slowest server ever!

Web Hosting Hub uses the same servers as Inmotionhosting.com (since it is the same company with different brands).
They both promote their super fast SSD servers.
The reality is the total opposite. I tested my website performance with different tools and the only RED point that shows up is slow sever response.
Average server speed is >2.5 seconds, with peaks at +5 seconds. Nobody will wait as long, and google won't give me a lot of love because of that slow server.
Customer service has no other answers than asking the customer to further optimize their website. My website is already fully optimized, but I can't do anything for the last issue, which is their slow server.
Their marketing is rather a mockery!
I have the "Nitro" plan, it's not the most economic offer by far!

Conclusion: Avoid both hoster: WebHostingHub and Inmotion Hosting

PS: I just visited their websites, I wonder why I have to pay the double of what they promote... since I pay 11$ per month and not 4.99 or 5.99. Surprising...

Unbeleivably bad host.

After reading some good reviews (How many are posted by them?) we decided to go with Web hosting hub. We found their support staff to be good but limited in what they could do.

They then received an INVALID and fraudulent DMCA take down request which they had been notified of in advance instead of just removing the image and contacting us they totally suspended our account without any warning and would not even allow us to remove the content.

Even when we offered decisive proof that the request was invalid their unethical and unprofessional legal department acted totally wrong and refused to activate us again.
Now despite any or all good things one may read about this unbelievably bad hosting group and their incredibly incompetent legal department it is of no use when your website is suspended and they will not act in accordance with their many boasts about how " the customer comes first"
This seems to me to be false and misleading advertising from this very bad hosting organization.

If anyone is thinking of going with them I suggest you look elsewhere if being up and running is of any importance to you.

The auto-renewal trap

I just got a receipt confirming an auto-renewal - something that you would think would require some action on your personal end, and not something they would automatically include as a "service".

I was told in the e-mail with the billing information, that the renewal would happen unless I told them otherwise 30 days ahead of the date of renewal. Only problem is that this e-mail was sent only 14 days prior, and therefore they'll probably argue that they were not informed sufficiently ahead of time. I'm no idiot - I know how this kind of stuff works. 14 days is more than plenty of time for them to cancel a renewal.

So I guess I'll have to contact my bank and make sure the transaction doesn't go through. Or perhaps even block my card. Honestly it kinda pisses me off, since the price skyrockets after the first year far above what you imminently pay for the services. I also thought I was buying the domain as my own private for the 20 dollars, but this is not the case either.

Chose their services on recommendations of a friend, but I guess she hadn't fallen into the renewal trap yet either...

Otherwise I can't complain about anything. Their service is good and I've never had connections issues on my blog, but auto-renewal is the kind of stuff that makes me distrust a company, and honestly I was very surprised that they would do this kinda stuff to people who are often new to the business.

Overall good

Overall, they were very good up till they decided to take the current customers speed and slow it down in order to force us to upgrade to a more expensive plan. But not too bad overall. Reliable customer support for sure.

not the customer service you want at all

i bought the hosting from them the sale deportment was good and answer fast but after they got the money from paypal then every thing changed. every time i wanted help it took 45 min for some one to answer it and then after they answer they close the page. again 45 min and then the second helper took 5 min for answering simple question every thing you ask it will take 5 min so one problem with server take around 3 hours of chatting and then nothing will be done.
now i am trying to get refund, and they keep telling it will take 3 day to answer. and now its day 5. so what are they doing i dont know. i think i have to open paypal case to get my money back.
in the end of the day dont go with them

Good, but another renewal-trap.

I won't complaint over the support nor hosting, but this is another AUTO-RENEWAL TRAP, I just got billed $20 for an auto renewal I couldn't even see was on my domain neither was it mentioned in their control panel which also lacks the feature to disable it.

I'd go with another host.

So far so good!

I'm currently living in China and sometimes it is difficult to get support abroad as the 12 hour time difference can make it difficult. However, I contacted they customer support in the early morning and had a wonderful experience. All my questions were answered and was provided professional service. I paid for a 3 year service (with a nice discount) and have been very happy so far! I installed the wordpress app very easily and was up and running in no time. A+

So far awesome!

I am very new to using a web hosting company. I am an iWeb person. I think I know stuff about this weird world of web. Not so much. Anyway, I wanted to complement Shawn C and Mark S for outstanding support. They didn't once make me feel like a cavewoman from the stone age. My site is now up and running. I am not a fancy business or anything special like that. I have just set up a family website, that my family no matter where they are in the world (and most of us are in the military so we go places), can get together and see whats going on with one an other without the social media and advertisements.

Getting the help I needed and feel comfortable in basically saying I know nothing, was wonderful.

Thank you Shawn C and Mark S and Web Hosting Hub. I have a feeling I will be a long time customer and my hubby may someday soon, very soon be using your service for a photography company he has started.
