Our online valuation tool is great for getting an idea of what your vehicle is worth, but it’s based off the information provided to us by our customers. Like any reputable buyer, our online valuation tool is not a firm offer to purchase your vehicle, and we need to confirm the reported condition before we can extend a final offer.
We appreciate you disclosing rust during the online valuation process, unfortunately, rust wasn’t the only issue the Honda Odyssey had. During our in-branch appraisal our Branch Manager identified multiple dashboard lights illuminated including the check engine light. We also observed engine noise and when we hooked up an industry-standard OBD2 reader, the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic computer returned a variety of codes which we have pasted below for full transparency.
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
We were previously unaware of these additional issues, and they are outside the scope of what is considered normal wear and tear. When we identified these issues, we had to take them into account when calculating our firm offer.
You should have been invited to join us as we complete our appraisal so you can see what we see and ask any questions you may have. We want our customers knowledgeable as to why we arrived at the price we did and comfortable with their decision to sell.
