The young man helping me was pleasant
The young man helping me was pleasant. The only issue I have is the offer was $960.00 higher than they paid me. They chagred me $319.00 to transfer ownership (That should be their cost). I can undersstand them splitting it with me, but me paying for the whole fee unacceptable! If I told the dealership to pay that fee they'd laugh at me.

We’re sorry to hear you feel that way after stopping into our Elmwood Park branch. It’s not our intention to waste your time and come off as a joke, and we apologize that was the impression you got. We have been in business for over a decade now and have purchased almost half a million cars. Our customers love us for customer service and transparency and if we failed to deliver during your appointment, we want to address your concerns.
Our online valuation tool is great for getting an idea of what your vehicle is worth, but it’s based off the information provided by our customers. It is not a firm offer to purchase your vehicle. Like any reputable buyer we need to perform a physical appraisal to confirm condition before making our final offer. We often pay our customers the online valuation amount but if we find damage we were previously unaware of, we reserve the right to modify the valuation at our discretion.
During the online valuation that occurred this morning, the user entered a dent to the rear bumper as the only damage the vehicle had. Unfortunately, once our Branch Manager had the opportunity to appraise the vehicle, we discovered the check engine light illuminated, a transmission control system malfunction, altered suspension and accident history. The transmission control system malfunction is especially concerning as it can cause rough or delayed shifting, slipping gears and reduced fuel economy.
Unfortunately, these items are outside the scope of normal and we had to factor them in when calculating our final offer. Hopefully our Branch Manager clearly communicated this to you and invited you to join him or her as they appraised your vehicle. We want every customer to be knowledgeable as to why we arrived at the price we did and comfortable with their decision to sell.
I have asked the Area Manager to reach out to you personally so we can listen to your feedback, tackle your concerns, and try to deliver the legendary customer service we’re known for.
