Customer service was tip tier

Customer service was tip tier! Anthony the person that came out was very professional and went over everything in detail, the offer was less then what was given on website but I truly did not need the car and just wanted it gone so I was happy with whatever! Would definitely recommend.

I recently sold my 2008 BMW X5 through…

UPDATE: After my visit, the manager reached out and provided a $100 check to make up for the long wait time, which I really appreciated. While the final offer on my 2008 BMW X5 was lower than I expected, I respect the way they followed up and took care of the situation. That kind of customer service goes a long way.

I recently sold my 2008 BMW X5 through this company and my experience was disappointing. The online quote I received was around $1,100, which seemed reasonable based on the vehicle’s condition and current market value. However, when I arrived for the in-person inspection, the offer dropped by about $300.

Their reasoning was that diagnostic codes came up and they would have to spend money to clear them. While I understand businesses need to account for repairs, the car was fully running with working AC, no rips or tears in the interior, and everything functional. Even the infotainment system alone sells for hundreds of dollars online.

In my opinion, the process feels designed to draw you in with a higher online estimate and then reduce the offer once you’re already there. I ultimately accepted the offer because I simply wanted to get rid of the vehicle, but the price felt significantly below fair market value (which I believe is at least $1,500 for a running BMW X5 in decent condition).

I would recommend that customers be cautious and expect the final offer to be lower than the online estimate. Transparency and more realistic initial quotes would make the process feel much more fair for sellers.

We understand how frustrating it can be when the final offer differs from the online estimate, and we appreciate the opportunity to explain how we arrived at the final figure.

Our online valuation is based entirely on the information provided by the customer. In this case, no physical defects, mechanical issues, or accident history were disclosed during the online valuation. However, our professional, in-person appraisal identified a number of issues that were not reflected in the online estimate, including:

• Airbag / SRS warning light illuminated — this is a critical safety concern that must be diagnosed and repaired before a vehicle can be resold
• Front bumper scratched
• Passenger side front door dented and scratched
• Passenger side rear door dented
• Rear tailgate/trunk lid damaged

Our OBD-II diagnostic scan revealed four active fault codes:

• P0140 — O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
• P0420 — Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
• P0430 — Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
• P0598 — Thermostat Heater Control Circuit Low

Three of these codes — P0420, P0430, and P0598 — were classified as permanent, meaning they cannot be cleared without first repairing the underlying faults. While individual components may appear inexpensive in isolation, these codes indicate systemic emission and engine management faults that must be diagnosed and resolved before a vehicle can be resold, and as a dealer, we are unable to offer a vehicle for sale with active fault codes without first addressing them.

Additionally, the vehicle history showed an undisclosed rear impact collision, which affects resale value and must be factored into the final offer.

It is important to note that webuyanycar.com operates a zero-pressure policy. Customers are never obligated to accept our offer and are always free to decline and keep their vehicle. All customers are invited to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how a vehicle's condition affects its valuation, and our team should have explained the nature of these findings before you had the opportunity to accept or reject our offer.
