Good service

I feel welcome and Rob is very friendly and explain everything clearly. The process is very straight forward. I just felt that the appraisal value is too low for my car.

This whole experience feels like bail…

This whole experience feels like bail and switch Scam. I say this because the first thing is they do is send a bait price which it’s 99% not going to be the price you are going to get. Step two is where the switch comes into play. They send someone to your house and go through the entire car using a system which captures the details. This creates an offer based on the value on car with any imperfections, and the system spits out an offer. Now, in my case this was $600 dollars less than the bait price. So, I asked if they could give me a little more and the estimator said she needed to ask her supervisor. They came back with a 24 hour offer of less than $200 and I accepted in less than 24 hours. I thought they will contact me to confirm but they went silent for days, and my guess is they were hoping I’d walk away. So that did not happen and they came back with an offer of $400 less than the offer the supervisor offered. So, they broke the verbal agreement and then final switch was the low ball offer. This is not reputable organization but the car business is famous for being low moral standing. The proof is most people hate buying or selling a car that involves car dealers. I’ll be filing a complaint with the BBB and the dealers association as well as any state departments that deal with unscrupulous business practices and I’m sure they exist solely for the auto business.

----Update----

Hi Jeff,

Just looping back around to thank you for taking the time to speak with our leadership team. Jeff reported positive talks and we're thrilled we could get you back in and ultimately purchase the vehicle.

If you need anything else, please email customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.

-------

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for choosing webuyanycar.com and for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent mobile buyer appointment. We take your comments very seriously, and we want to address each of your concerns directly.

First, we are concerned by your account of the communication timeline following your appraisal. You should not have experienced days of silence after expressing interest in moving forward. Timely, clear communication is a cornerstone of our customer service, and we have escalated this matter to senior management for an immediate investigation into the follow-up process and the interactions between our team and you throughout the transaction.

It is important to note that vehicle valuations are dynamic and may fluctuate based on market conditions, auction performance, and supply and demand for a particular make, model, and trim. A price quoted on one day may not be available several days later if market conditions have shifted. This is separate from the in-person appraisal adjustment, which reflects the verified condition of the vehicle.

We also want to address the allegation of bait and switch. Bait and switch is an illegal and immoral business practice, and it does not happen at webuyanycar.com. Our online valuation is an estimate based on the limited information provided by the customer and does not constitute a firm offer. This is clearly stated in our Terms and Conditions, which are prominently displayed on our website and included in the valuation email sent to you. Our team also communicates this during the confirmation call ahead of every appointment.

For full transparency, we want to explain why the in-person appraisal resulted in an adjustment from the online estimate. The only issue disclosed online was oxidation on the driver side front door. During our professional inspection, our mobile buyer identified multiple additional concerns that were not reported:

• Rear bumper cracked
• Driver side front door — poor previous repair detected
• Rear tailgate/trunk lid oxidation
• Passenger side rear door scratched
• Passenger side front door dented
• Passenger side rear alloy wheel damaged
• Front bumper misaligned
• Front headlight oxidation

Our OBD-II diagnostic scan revealed one permanent engine code and two Anti-Lock Braking System codes:

• P0420 — Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
• C0057 — Anti-Lock Braking System (VDC) fault
• C0071 — Anti-Lock Braking System (VDC) fault

P0420 is classified as a permanent code, meaning it cannot be cleared without repairing the underlying fault. Our diagnostic tool also detected that the vehicle's trouble codes had been recently cleared approximately 115 miles before our scan. Despite the reset, the permanent code persisted, confirming an active emissions system fault. As a dealer, we are required to resolve active fault codes before reselling a vehicle, and ABS faults have a direct impact on vehicle safety and market value.

These physical and mechanical findings required an adjustment from the estimate to reflect the vehicle's true condition. We invite all customers to join our mobile buyers during the appraisal so they can see what we see and understand how we arrive at our offer.

We have logged a formal complaint on your behalf. The Area Manager responsible for our team in your region is personally investigating this matter — including the communication timeline following your appraisal — and will be reaching out to you directly. If you'd like to contact us in the meantime, please email our Customer Experience Team at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com.

Warmest regards,

Jeremy, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

Decent service, terrible offers

Rob was decent, don’t get me wrong, however, the offer on my 2016 Fusion was absolutely disrespectful. I was initially offered $101 (not even joking) for a running, working vehicle. This estimate was based on the supposed cost of engine repairs and minor (passenger side mirror damaged, front driver fender clips need replacing) cosmetic issues.

It was only once I informed them that another company offered me $500 that they “renegotiated” another offer to match that $500. Honestly, I could’ve sold the car as is privately for at minimum $1300 but time was not on my side. Overall, if I am to junk another vehicle, I will not be coming back.

Realistically, Jeff Capaldo is the only reason I’m updating this review because I still feel the initial offer and even the agreed upon offer with Rob is still completely disgraceful. My battery was less than a week old and my alternator was less than 4 days old, together they are worth over the $500 I was offered. (Remind you that we only got to a $500 offer because I mentioned another company was offering me that amount.)

Hi Darrell,

Thank you for choosing webuyanycar.com and for sharing your feedback following your visit with our mobile buyer in Marietta, GA. We're glad to hear the team member who assisted you was amazing and provided great service. We'll make sure your kind words reach him.

We're sorry to hear that the valuation of your 2016 Ford Fusion did not meet your expectations, and we take your concerns very seriously. We have logged a formal complaint on your behalf, and the Area Manager responsible for our team in your area will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience. A one-star review is a direct reflection of the customer service experience provided by our team, and we are keen to resolve any issues that prevented you from having a five-star experience with webuyanycar.com.

To provide full transparency, the online valuation is based on the information provided by the customer. In this case, the only issues disclosed were a damaged passenger side mirror housing, a front bumper dent, and missing mirror glass. However, during our professional, in-person appraisal, our team identified extensive additional damage that was not reported, including:

• Traction control light illuminated
• ABS light illuminated
• Air conditioning inoperable
• Additional dashboard warning lights illuminated
• Tailgate/trunk lid oxidation
• Passenger side rear quarter panel dented
• All four tires with low tread depth (all requiring replacement)
• Driver side front door handle damaged
• Roof panel dented
• Rear lights damaged
• Front bumper misaligned

Upper engine noise was also detected during the appraisal. Our OBD-II diagnostic scan revealed four active fault codes:

• P0340 — Camshaft Position Sensor 'A' Circuit Bank 1 Malfunction
• P0344 — Camshaft Position Sensor 'A' Circuit Intermittent Bank 1
• P0625 — Generator Field/F Terminal Circuit Low
• P0626 — Generator Field/F Terminal Circuit High

P0340 and P0344 indicate faults in the camshaft position sensor circuit, which can cause stalling, rough running, and starting issues. P0625 and P0626 point to a charging system fault that can lead to battery drain or electrical failure. Both P0340 and P0344 were classified as permanent codes, meaning they cannot be resolved by simply clearing the vehicle's computer — the underlying fault must be repaired. Our diagnostic tool also detected that the vehicle's trouble codes had been recently cleared just 6 miles before the appointment, despite the check engine light being on at the time of inspection.

These mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues go well beyond normal wear and tear and have a substantial impact on the vehicle's resale value. We invite all customers to join the appraisal process so they can see what we see and understand how we arrive at our offer.

If you have any further concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Experience Team at customerfeedback@webuyanycarusa.com. We appreciate the opportunity to address this and make things right.

Warmest regards,

Jeremy, on behalf of webuyanycar.com

While I would’ve liked my car to be…

While I would’ve liked my car to be worth what I wished it would be, they gave me a fair market price for my hunk of junk. The process was quick and easy and the car was picked up from my house within 24 hours.
