They offer several thousands less than what they tell you in the initial estimate.
What the value was estimated at was drastically different that what was initially offered. Then you are lead to believe that the car has a bunch of structural damage that they must disclose to a buyer, and other mechanical issues that will reduce the value they estimated by thousands of dollars. So, then they offer basically a price that would be scrap value - and when you say no thank you - they pretend to contact financial person and slowly creep up/go back and forth with low offers and the to a reasonable offer. If you know the vehicle's value - it is VERY insulting to have someone think you are willing to accept something basically $2500 below a dealer's trade in value. Wasted a bunch of time and made it feel like a very dishonest/upsetting arrangement. I will NEVER use any service like this again - but will instead trade in to a dealer directly. Manager was basically polite - tactics were deplorable. Assuming any high ratings were put in by the company or paid reviewers.

I see when you requested a valuation estimate from us on 3/20/2024 at 4:43 PM, you described the Toyota as in good physical and mechanical condition with no defects. We provide tools for you to make us aware of any issues and make it clear online that the valuation is subject to appraisal and condition based.
Like any professional buyer, we conduct a professional appraisal before we buy the car. This includes physical and mechanical checks, a test drive, running OBD2 diagnostics, and checking the vehicle history. We do the same things you should do if you were buying a used vehicle.
To back up our findings, and ensure the quality and integrity of appraisals, we capture detailed appraisal notes and photographs. The issues we found with the Toyota included suspension noise, and corrosion to the rocker panels on the underside of the vehicle. We have photographs from underside that we will be happy to share with you. Corroded rails, if severe, must be declared as a structural issue when reselling the vehicle which impacts the resale value.
Despite the issues with the Toyota, I do see that we were able to cut you a check for an amount very close to the estimate you received for the same car in perfect condition. It was necessary for our team to request a price review as the Toyota was not in the condition described online but I'm pleased to see we were able to make you a great offer you were happy to accept.
