I had a great experience selling my car with Liliana at the Union Park location. The whole process was really straight forward, clear and quick. Everything I needed to ensure a smooth process was communicated up front, and unlike other dealerships, I enjoyed how it didn't feel like it was about games or keeping me there as long as possible. Just because a vehicle has a rebuilt…
Just because a vehicle has a rebuilt title doesn’t always mean its value devalues to a third. It should depend on the reason it was retitled and real value assessed on site

To most people it doesn’t matter what the reason behind a rebuilt title may be, it’s a red flag and a strong enough deterrent that values are badly impacted. Most consumers are uncomfortable with driving a vehicle that an insurance company deemed to be beyond economical repair and may have serious safety issues.
Our pricing model looks at a large subset of data points when pricing a car and has seen enough rebuilt titles to come to a statistically significant conclusion on how rebuilt titles hurt a vehicle’s resale value regardless of the reason.

I did have Area Manager James reach out to you directly to address your concerns, but we have been unable to reach you by phone, email, or SMS message.
While we provide an online valuation service for customer convenience, these estimates are based on disclosures made by you. Like any professional buyer, we always appraise the vehicle before we make an offer. The appraisal includes physical and mechanical checks, verifying the vehicle history with a service like CARFAX, and running OBD2 diagnostics to check for any engine issues.
From disclosures you made online on 2/15/2024, the Honda was understood to be in good condition with no physical or mechanical issues. Unfortunately, when we checked the vehicle's diagnostic computer, it reported that trouble codes had been reset 8 miles before we appraised the vehicle. While it is possible to reset codes, and even disable a check engine light, fault codes remain in memory and a P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 code was active on the Honda. This was backed up by upper engine noise detected by the appraiser and our engine noise detection systems.
While we can, and did, overlook some minor battle scars on the Honda, engine issues can be expensive repairs and we have to take these into account when determining a fair market value for the vehicle. I see that we were able to make an offer you were happy to accept and hope that our team explained why we would not be paying the online estimate with full transparency.
