I see that you used our online damage appraisal tool to disclose a dent on the rear bumper, but there were several other issues which were not disclosed, such as the illuminated check engine light which is a red flag to any prospective buyer.
Like any professional auto buyer, we carry out physical and mechanical checks before we make an offer, and the engine was the concern here. There was upper engine noise, and this was confirmed when we ran OBD2 diagnostic checks on the vehicle's computer. This revealed the check engine light had been illuminated for 5,979 miles and highlighted several issues with the vehicle's braking systems and powertrain:
C121C-00 - Torque Request Signal Denied: No Sub Type Information
P0365 - Camshaft Position Sensor 'B' Circuit Bank 1
P2103 - Throttle Actuator 'A' Control Motor Circuit High
Despite the additional problems with the vehicle, it's great to see we were able to make an offer you were happy to accept but our team should have done a much better job of explaining how we calculated our offer. It is not acceptable for you to have poor customer service, and I have made a complaint on your behalf which has been escalated to the local Area Manager.

I was shocked how you devalued my car nit picking every scratch saying I needed a new tire when I bought all my tires at the same time, saying the engine was missing when it does not. Thie offer was originally $2590 it wound up being $1000. Give me a break.

As you note, there were problems with the vehicle. The issue with the engine misfiring was diagnosed by the vehicle and we're happy to share the report to back up the honesty and integrity of our team. Like any professional buyer, we ran standard OBD2 diagnostic checks, and the vehicle reported the following fault code:
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
With an AWD vehicle, power is delivered in different ratios from the front and rear tires, and they wear differently. This is why mechanics recommend rotating tires at every inspection to help equalize the wear for safety. Our readings were all on the low side, but two exceeded the minimum we regard as fair wear and tear.
We're not concerned about minor damage, but bigger items like poor previous repairs on the tailgate, hood, and driver's side door, plus the torn driver's side seat do impact the resale value and must be accounted for in our offer.
Despite the issues with your car, I'm pleased to see we were able to make you an offer you were happy to accept, and we'd love to know how we could have done better in the circumstances. Area Manager Brent will be handling your complaint personally and will be reaching out to you directly today.

I had my car looked at and was appraised at $6936...I was perplexed and said I may consider $7000. My response was they could not come up $64 . I was offered significant more for trade.....This is not all of that and a bag of chips...My suggestion go elsewhere!

The lady was very polite and did her best to give me as much money as possible for my beautiful Challenger RT with 68,000 miles on it. But due to the car being in total status due to me being rear ended and problems with my insurance carrier at the time GEICO. I was screwed by this insurance company for there own gain instead of focusing on there customer which is another issue that had nothing to do with We by any Car company. They did there best for me.
