Chris is awesome

Chris is great, very thorough inspection of the old car. Too bad the car had too much issues which brings down the value. Chris is really there to help the process smoothly. Thanks!

After a bad experience

After a bad experience, Matt and Jeff reached out to me and listened to my visit to the store. They assured me that this isn’t the way their company does business! They turned a bad situation into a better one!

Easy way to sell a car

I found this to be an easy way to sell a car. Based on my experience, I would recommend this business to others. I had to wait a bit before getting started (even with appt), but once Chris finished up with the customer before me, I had his full attention. The selling process was pretty straightforward and took about an hour start to finish. I felt I got a fair price for an older vehicle (2002 Honda Accord w/ nearly 300k miles) and was happy to walk out with a check in hand. I found valuations from some competitors (Carvana, Peddle) were quite a bit lower than webuyanycar. Thanks, Chris, for your excellent service.

HI Joshua,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Our intention is not to rip off our customers and if that’s the impression we gave, we clearly dropped the ball and need to address your concerns.

Customer service is our top priority, it’s why we have a 4.9 rating from 60,000+ happy customers. We record everything we do for quality and training purposes and our leadership team would be happy to review your appointment in full.

We see from our detailed notes you arrived at 4:48 PM and we were able to cut you a check at 6:18 PM. We advertise our appointments should take about one hour and we did miss the mark by about 30 minutes. We know your time is valuable and we want to make that right. Our leadership team is also interested to find out about the other 2 hours you mention in your initial review as our records indicate the deal was completed much quicker than 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Regarding the change in price, we want nothing more than to be completely transparent with our customers and hopefully the Branch Manager explained in detail the catalyst for this change. Our online valuation tool is great for getting an idea of what your vehicle is worth, but it’s based off the limited information provided to us by our customers. Our website and disclaimers clearly state this is not a firm offer to purchase your vehicle.

Like any reputable buyer we need to perform a physical inspection to confirm the vehicle’s condition. No two vehicles are alike and if we discover issues we were previously unaware of we reserve the right to modify our valuation accordingly. We’re not worried about small dings and dents but major issues that are outside normal wear and tear conditions.

During the online valuation completed on 03/24/25 there wasn’t any damage disclosed by the user for the 2008 Mazda, so our system generated a price for a vehicle in good working condition. Unfortunately, when we were able to inspect the vehicle we discovered a wide array of issues. The check engine light, along with multiple other dashboard lights were illuminated. Rust had chewed through the exterior of the vehicle and there was accident history with air bags deployed from a left front impact back in 2013. The vehicle was marked as salvage and a total loss with the presence of structural damage. Structural damage is a major concern because the vehicle’s frame has been compromised and can no longer adequately protect it’s passengers in the event of another accident.

Likewise, a salvage title will negatively impact the resale value of a vehicle. It indicates a vehicle has been deemed a total loss due to extensive damage, leading to increased risks, potential hidden issues, and a negative perception among buyers, resulting in a substantial depreciation of its value.

We’re sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations regarding price, but these are major issues that any legitimate buyer would need to factor into their valuation of this vehicle. We worked with our pricing team to try and get you as much for this vehicle as possible, but honestly it was an end-of-life unit that should have been taken to a vehicle recycling center and stripped for parts.

Regardless we want all our customers to have a positive experience. You should have been invited to join us as we completed our inspection and invited to ask any and all questions. We never pressure our customers to sell and if we didn’t communicate properly or follow our process as expected, we want to know about that and address it with you directly.

I have asked the Area Manager to reach out to you so we can listen to your feedback, tackle your concerns and try to give you the 5-star outcome webuyanycar.com is known for. Thank you again for choosing We Buy Any Car. We’ll be reaching out to you soon, please be on the lookout for our calls.

Kind Regards,
Kevin, on behalf of webuyanycar.com
