A mere 2 and a half month and 6 emails later...

Recycled my DVD's at the end of February - needless to say several of them failed.

Confirmed my address for the cheque to be posted, cheque spent over a month being processed and printed. Several emails back and forth the final one threatening legal action and discussing what a disgrace it is that they seem to think this is acceptable.

Finally received my cheque on the 23rd of April - over 2 months since sending DVD's and its dated the 2nd of March! Seems they only pay out to people who kick up a fuss to shut them up,

So glad to see they are being taken to trading standards repeatedly and hopefully these scam artists are shut down.

They have stolen DVDs too many times.

I'm so annoyed with myself for not reading these reviews first. I sent 43 DVDs and 12 have so called failed for the same reasons as other people's reviews state. The DVDs sent were immaculate and I'm so angry now that they have stolen all our DVDs and money. Luckily I also used zapper, ziffit and music magpie for the other DVDs I had and they have all paid and no DVDs were failed.

3 months and still no payment. AVOID!!!

If I could've given a lower star rating, I would have.

Webuydvds have had my DVD's since 10/02/2016 and there have been countless contacts from me and very few from them. I was told on 21/03/2016 (after chasing up since the initial 10 days they quote on their website) that "Your payment has been posted out to you today via Royal Mail standard delivery so please bear with them for a few days for your cheque to arrive."

I have contacted Trading Standards. I just wished I'd checked here before using them!

Avoid!

Sent my parcel off on 26/01/2016 and it's now 11/04/2016 and I've still not received the cheque.

Their staff are useless - constant excuses and no straight answers of when I'll RECIEVE the cheque, just the word SOON which was said about 3 weeks ago, haha!!. According to them they have an increase in customers which is the reason for delay even though they fail to let customers know prior to doing business with them.

They have already deducted £10.50 as according to them a few DVDS failed.

I would advise you all to use a more trustworthy and legitimate website because these people seem to be constantly doing this to people. They should be in business as they clearly are unable to deliver customer satisfaction!!!

I have already informed the police and I'll be contacting trading standards. Failing that I'll take them to court

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I sent 179 DVDs and a 104 were failed. Due to various reasons the main one being water damage!!!!!!! All DVDs checked before sent and there was no water damage. I was quoted £7.14 for a box set, this was failed due to the outer cardboard case having a tear. New price 0p even though all DVDs were intact.

Emailed company several times and generic replies each time. Asked for failed items to be returned and told no. Have had no money for items that's were passed and no response to when I will be receiving cheque. Sent two boxes of DVDs to music magpie since using this company and cheque recieved. I would urge anyone thinking of recycling DVDs to avoid this company at all costs.

Never Use

Never use this website to sell your dvds.
I sent 172 dvd's to them.
And they failed over 80 of them claiming water damage and cracked rims.

I checked every case for damage and there was none whatsoever, and also no water/liquid damage of any form.

U have been warned do not use this website.

They don't even return the failed dvd's. they take them for free!

D0 NOT USE

Most frustrating customer experience ever.

I can only echo what everyone else has gone through on here and it has driven me crazy.

Sent 43 dvd's all in excellent condition - company claimed 8 of them were 'water damaged - damaged artwork or cracked casing', all 8 were deducted in full from my recycle. I disputed this 'quality check' massively. All to no avail.

They make a decision and that's it - it's final. No telephone number to discuss, no escalation process - nothing. It's complete nonsense. That was the beginning of my problems.

10 days after receiving my dvd's they said the reduced cheque would be with me in 9 days.....35 days later still no sign.

No answers to my emails, no cheque, no response.

I sent my final email today stating I am contacting Trading standards (which I have) and what do you know, my cheque has been marked as dispatched today. Whether it will arrive or not is another thing.

I am pursing with Trading Standards for 'Breach of Contract'. I advise everyone do the same and get these rip off artists of the web.

Don't deal with people as you can say goodbye not only to your dvd's....but also your patience and your time.

WORST COMPANY EVER.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY COMPLETE RIP OFF

I had a huge amount of DVDs to move on, in fact over 250, so I thought I would use webuydvds for a change as they did seem to be paying a little more than Music Magpie and not one to miss out on a few pennies I trusted them. How wrong could I have been. I sent four recycles to them on 28th January 2016, totalling £114.70. Two weeks later, I started to email as I had heard nothing; "we have a huge backlog due to the large volumes of recycles we currently have, we will get back to you very soon". Eventually, they 'processed' my DVDs and my £114.70 dropped to ££68.56 due to damaged artwork or water damaged DVDs. None of these DVDs had ever been water damaged or the artwork damaged, we look after our things. I am now chasing them every week, there is no phone number you can use to speak to anyone, all you can do is email and hope eventually you will get a response...... It is now 18th March and I still have heard nothing and received no money. Since January, I have recycled another 150 DVDs with Music Magpie, been paid for every one and received the money with no problems at all. Music Magpie all the way for me now, I should have known better. DON'T TOUCH THIS SO-CALLED COMPANY

do not use this company at any cost

I sent 86 dvds which were all in working order and after 3 weeks was told only 53 would be paid for as others were scratched or damaged. I emailed them advising that they were all in working order and i wanted them returning to check myself but they said they dont return any. So i accepted that. That was in December and after 3 emails asking where payment is they state they have sent a cheque and they charge £12 to cancel it and resend.its March now and still no cheque. This is a total scam avoid at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs

Sent them 54 dvds, all had been checked prior to be sent for scratches, marks any damage at all, they were all perfect some were even still wrapped. After a long wait they were finally processed (5 days after the received them) and they determined that 14 of the 54 had issues (scratches, missing DVDs, damaged artwork) all of which are totally bogus claims as they claimed problems on brand new unopened DVDs, BUT you have no way of querying their "quality control" OR of getting the "faulty" DVDs back which they give you NO money for.
Complete Scam artists. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

Avoid

Sent DVDs in January, it's now March and no sign of payment. Quoted a price of over £40 originally but apparently their quality controls have found damaged artwork and a missing disc, reducing price to about £35. DVDs were good as new when posted and I checked every box before sending so definitely a scam. Not hopeful of ever getting that cheque. Avoid!

No cheque, and no response to messsages, not to be trusted

Decided to give them a try, sent in 33 DVDs valued at £20, slightly more than Music Magpie were offering.

Webuydvds pestered me daily to post my items having accepted the 'deal'.

It took them about a week to process them after posting but since then (2 weeks) I have not received a cheque or a response to any of my enquiries as to where the cheque is. Pathetic, cowboys, avoid.

Seems like reviews here are spot on....

...so have sent them the following message and am awaiting a reply:

Still waiting for the cheque for the DVD's I sent you 6/2/16.
Either return them or pay me for them.
I'm not willing to let you lot rip me off like all your other customers:
If my money is not forthcoming or my DVD's returned I shall have no option than to contact Police to inform them I think I have been a victim of fraud.
I will also be contacting my local MP as well as Trading Standards and the Advertising Standards Agency as due to the almost entirely negative reviews online it seems you have no intention of providing the services you offer.
Furthermore If this is not resolved to my satisfaction I will be contacting the BBC consumers affair programme Watchdog as well as those people who have provided negative reviews online to see if they would like to form a website/Facebook page warning others about your firm.
I wonder how 'business' will fare then if every time people type in 'buy DVD's they get results for websites/Facebook pages called things such as
webuydvdsripoff. dot com/webuysdvdsrippedmeoff. dot com
It may only be around 4 quid I'm owed but it's the principle that counts.
I look forward to a swift reply.

Wish I had read these reviews before dealing with this company

Please do not use this company. My experience is the same as the previous reviews. DVD's rejected due to scratches and damaged artwork when I know that they were in good condition when sent. Payment not received, excuses to say they have been overwhelmed then the cheque is being printed; this status has not changed for a week. 19 DVD's lost! Next stop Trading Standards or Consumer programme to get them shut down!

Do not use this company - they pretend to give you more but they don't!

Well, I thought I'd try a new company instead of Magpie as this company seemed to pay over the odds - well they do because they don't pay you for all of them. Was quoted £20+ and when I eventually got my cheque (and I had to chase for that!) they deducted over £7. Ironically the discs they deducted were the highest price ones - highlighting that they were damaged or scratched even though we look after our discs and I checked them all before being sent. Don't use - they make you feel you are going to get more - but they make sure you don't through their 'quality checks'!

Do not use this company

I suppose when a company puts a 'deadline' on sending CDs to them with an email countdown and sense of urgency I should have been concerned. But as with others, the high prices on offer were too tempting.

I sent off my stuff, they confirmed receipt and the cheque amount. Then nothing, weeks later. I don't expect to receive anything.

Do not use, do not use, do not use.
