They blocked our negative but honest review of one of their vendors
We had a dispute with a wedding officiant we found through their site. We wrote a negative review on their site and she disputed it. They sided with the vendor 100% and wouldn't post our review and even told us that if we wrote another review they would not post it. (The dispute, in short, was because we paid the vendor a deposit and then found out one day later she is not legally qualified to perform weddings in North Carolina. She refused to refund our deposit. She claimed "our contract" clearly states the deposit is nonrefundable. Two problems with that - 1. we never signed a contract with her and 2. the contract also states, falsely, that she is fully qualified to perform weddings. We stated all this in our review and provided legal references proving that she is not qualified and weddingwire completely took her side and even parroted her words about the contract. AVOID THEM AND THEIR SISTER SITE, THEKNOT.COM
They refused a bad review on my…
They refused a bad review on my wedding. They said they wedding never happened. I sent them a receipt I sent the receipt for the service paid in full. They did not respond and still refused my review.
Zero stars for WeddingWire.
"I am a vendor, and my experience with them has been terrible. If you are a vendor or a couple, stay away! I had an account with almost 60 great reviews, and suddenly, they decided to delete it. When I realized this and sent them an email, their reply was: 'Due to system updates, your old account has been removed.'
Before that, I had been trying for months to contact them and check why I had not received my award, even though I had met all the requirements. They are not helpful and only promote vendors who pay a ton of money per year. No thanks! Zero stars for WeddingWire."
My account was deactivated without notice
I have been using weddingwire since 2009 as a vendor (DJ). I've always used the free listing version of their service. I paid for one year but only got enough business to pay for their service. Two weeks ago a bride contacted me a week before her wedding she wanted to share my profile but when she clicked the link my profile cannot be found. I was not able to log into the website access my account or see anything. I called support and it is offshore. They told me due to a migration to the new weddingpro platform, it will take 7 to 10 business days. Why didn't I get a notification as I could be losing gigs? I called 2 weeks later and they said for me to send an email. But I sent an email and the address apparently from their website does not work. He gave me a different email address and I received a reply today that they could not find my account based on my email address. When I was on the phone they already explained to me that they could find my account and it was hidden in the back end due to the migration. As a vendor I'm very disappointed for their customer service but if you want to sign up for a package I'm sure our sales rep will call you within minutes.
I'm hoping someone will fix and reactivate my account, I will be hesitant to recreate it because I will lose all of my review history. What a sham.
"**Update 4/2/25
I received this email from WeddingWire support and I called to confirm that they have deleted all old accounts and I have to start over new. How angry I am and unprofessional without care to their clients.
This is to inform you that we are unable to log in to your account, and help you with the access. Due to the system updates, your old account has been removed. Our heart goes out to express that ''It is a technical impact that can not be reversed.'' Hence, if you wish to continue to be on board with us and be visible for the potential clients, we request you to please have a fresh listing. A new account will be opened and services can continue post this procedure.Unfortunately, as of now, your account and its content is not available in our database. We apologize for the same!!Please let us know, we can definitely connect you to the relevant department for setting up of a new account with upgraded technology."
Fake Wedding Wire
Am a vendor. I have bought a service for 60000. Not even single lead was genuine.
All leads they have given are fake.
Do not trust wedding wire. It's scam.
I had an extremely disappointing…
I had an extremely disappointing experience with WeddingWire/The Knot (The Wedding Pro). Their customer support was unhelpful, and their business practices felt deceptive and rigid, ultimately harming my small business rather than supporting it.
I invested over $8,000 in an annual contract, expecting a worthwhile return based on their promises of increased bookings. However, I secured only one elopement and two weddings—far from enough to offset the cost, leaving me with virtually no profit after advertising expenses. The platform offers no clear way to evaluate ROI, and their system locks you in without flexibility.
Adjusting or canceling your contract is a nightmare. You can’t do it independently online—you’re forced to speak with an account specialist, whose primary goal seems to be retention rather than resolution. Worse, changes or cancellations must be requested more than five days before the billing cycle, a detail buried in fine print. In my case, I emailed just before this deadline to adjust my plan, only to endure a 40-minute retention call where I was told cancellation wasn’t possible due to timing. They offered to adjust my plan with supervisor approval, but what followed was a bait-and-switch.
I received a new contract labeled as their “bottom tier” for another full year, despite our phone discussion about switching to month-to-month billing. I immediately flagged the discrepancy via email, noting the contract didn’t reflect our agreement. My specialist didn’t respond until after the weekend, by which time I’d been charged $689 for the incorrect plan. Monday’s follow-up call revealed more confusion: another representative claimed the year-long contract was month-to-month, a contradiction that wasn’t clarified to me prior. I refused to sign due to this lack of transparency, but they insisted I’d been “informed” via the contract terms.
The customer service team showed zero empathy, treating me like a number rather than a struggling small business owner. Their inflexible policies and lack of accountability left me feeling taken advantage of. My business suffered financially from this partnership, while they profited at my expense. The Wedding Pro dominates the market, but their practices prioritize their bottom line over the vendors they claim to support. I strongly caution other photographers against investing here—look elsewhere for promotion that actually benefits your business.
Do not go off wedding wires reviews.
Do not go off wedding wires reviews.
I attempted to post a 1 star review for my experience with a wedding photographer & because I was refunded for (which was owed to us for what happened) they refused to post it.
Horrible
Horrible, horrible horrible do not book anything through these people. I booked a food vendor beck in December through them and these the vendor showed up two hours late. They were horrible did not offer any compensation and when I complain to wedding wire company, they totally favored the vendor who was incompetent and had no regards to anyone but themselves. Wedding wire literally closed my complaint ticket! I wish I would’ve known then what I know now keep looking.
WeddingWire
I would do 0 Stars if I could they Love accuse me and my wife of doing something we didn't do this is Janie hagler's husband.
If I could leave 0 stars I would
If I could leave 0 stars I would. This company is absolute garbage. I closed my business due to being sick and happened to have a couple of brides leave me scathing, hurtful, and untruthful reviews. It was upsetting in a time that I needed to really focus on my health so I asked them to please delete my profile as I didn’t want to risk any other bad reviews or upsets, they said no. I don’t understand how you can force someone to have a profile with you, but I’m seriously considering legal action at this point. By the way I don’t think I’ve ever even booked a single job through them. Absolutely not worth it to get an account with them.
I woudl`t even know where to begin
I woudl`t even know where to begin. I was their vendor for many years. After the merge with The know EVRYTHING stop working. Leads disappeared, the began to scam the vendors. I was overcharged for months, nobody would pick up the phone or respond to emails. They started new contract against my disagreement. I was happy when I was able to close the account for good. But they still sent me a bill , though they are the ones who owe me for overcharging.
Vendors get the short end of the stick
I've been a vendor for a while now, and let me tell you, Wedding Wire has really gone downhill. They've made a bunch of changes recently, and it's totally changed the game. We don’t have dedicated reps anymore, so when you call, you just get some random call center in another country. These folks don’t have a clue what they’re talking about and can only tell you info you can already see on your own profile. They know absolutely nothing. The normal questions that you would ask your rep before making a big investment And another year commitment - they don’t know! They’re not helpful at all because they just don’t know-super frustrating! Wedding Wire just keeps jacking up their prices every year to crazy amounts while the service just gets worse. 90% of everyone who inquires is price shopping and doesn’t answer once you respond or is a fake lead. I believe they’re also giving out packages to an unlimited amount of vendors so it’s too flooded now. Plus, I found out that the tier/spot I’ve been paying for isn’t even real. They claim you’re paying for a spot on the “front page” being a specific ranking, but they sell that same spot to hundreds of people, so it doesn’t mean anything. The “front page” is a never ending page that keeps loading and going. What they don’t tell you is that the “first page” can have hundreds of people in the same spot, which obviously isn’t what you expect or pay for. It’s really misleading. Unless you shell out for the top-tier package, you’re not going to make it to the top. I’ve tried getting in touch with someone who can actually give me normal information that a representative should have- hasn’t happened. Typically it would take one phone call to receive the information I’m calling for. Apparently, the reps in the United States are now specifically only available to areas that bring in the most money for wedding wire-what I was told in other words. Get it together wedding wire.
Scam- can’t delete your account
Like the title says. Scam alert! Can’t delete your accoutn. Left multiple emails and calls. Nothing. However they were quick to reply by email on other matters.
Terrible, nonexistent. They don’t respond.
I have tried multiple times to register as a vendor, but they never send me the confirmation email. I’ve tried contacting them to report the issue, but they don’t respond. It’s great to aim to be among the top vendors in my field, but being completely ignored by them is disappointing. To me, this is absolutely unprofessional. I will not accept any dispute regarding this review.
Everlasting elopements …One of the most unprofessional…
One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. The day of the wedding Kari, the owner did not even introduce herself to anybody in the wedding party. She had such a chip on her shoulder. The ceremony was a mess, she threw the doors open and told my daughter and my husband to walk down the aisle before the guitar player even started playing . No one ever spoke to her before that except through an email. Any additional conversation would’ve cost you $100!!! Anytime we emailed her to ask her a question, she was extremely short and acted very put out that she had to return an email. Many of her responses were unbelievably rude. If you want to use this company, BEWARE!!! I am happy to discuss our whole experience with you if you will instant message me at Pam Hinton on Facebook. The cake did not taste good at all, the altar flowers were some worn out looking flowers that she just threw in an urn that was way too big for them, the boutonnieres never showed up, the photographer showed up at the hotel, but had forgot her battery.(I paid extra for the photographer to come to the hotel. I was never reimbursed.) The list goes on and on. I asked her for a refund and she was only willing to refund about $200. (Which, by the way, she never did )I called American Express and had the charges reversed and then she held our photographs hostage so I had to go reverse the charges again. Every time she emailed my daughter and her husband, she would act like it was really bothering her to have to contact them, but that her mother (me) was causing so many problems. She basically badmouthed me to my daughter and her new husband. I am the one that paid for it so I tried desperately to handle it without involving my daughter and her new husband. The whole experience truly was just a mess. I never spoke to her, so I couldn’t have been mean to her. As a matter of fact, we had very limited email conversations. My advice, if you’re paying for this wedding, your name needs to be on the contract. I really could go on and on. So disappointing and so unprofessional. It is my belief that Kari is very burned out and probably probably should not be doing this anymore.
Do not use WeddingWire or the Knot to…
Do not use WeddingWire or the Knot to help you pick vendors for your wedding. I had a terrible experience with a photographer that they highly recommended. I tried to leave an honest review to help other couples and the WeddingWire/The Knot removed my review instantly. They have asked me for more information and I have provided an abundance of proof of my very poor experience regarding this vendor but they have yet to repost my review. They favor the vendor because they are paid by them. This is unethical.
Update - I have been communicating with Casey from WeddingWire and she told me EXACTLY how to reword my review if I wanted it posted. She has asked me to be untruthful and said she will not post my review until I make those edits that she made for me! This has been going on for over a month of back & forth emails. She wants me to get frustrated and give up so that Bayless Photography in Wakefield, RI can continue to have only 5 star reviews with some that are made up reviews on WeddingWire while ruining people’s weddings and memories. This is outrageous. Shame on you WeddingWire!!
Scam - do not use
We are one of the premiere wedding bands in our area, and we decided to sign up for wedding wire. It’s been about 7 months, and about 95% of all leads we have received through WW are a scam or spam. We receive “leads” that reach out with canned messaging asking if we’re available on x date, then they’ll reach out again with the same messaging asking if we’re available on a different date. We recently received a “lead” that asked if we can play for their wedding, then asked for our phone number. I called them, and the person had a thick accent with a California area code. We’re based in MT, but my cell # area code is VA. The person then said he needs us to play for his 5th wedding anniversary, and his wife is in the hospital. I went along with it, and asked where the venue is located. He texted me a VA residential address while I was on the phone, and I told him we are based in MT. He apologized and said he sent the wrong address by mistake. I stopped him and said I know this is a scam and he abruptly hung up. I have the convo recorded.
This is just a sample of our experience with WW. We book about 15 weddings a year, and that trend has continued, though all of our biz still comes through our other channels. It would be better if we received no leads instead of almost all scam/spam “leads.” It’s a waste of our time, and costs about $350/month. They will not let us out of our “contract,” and we are looking into legal action. They have an F rating on BBB, and I totally understand why. I believe this is consumer fraud, and they are scamming small businesses out of their hard earned money.
Avoid Wedding Wire / The Knot / Wedding Pro
Wedding Wire / The Knot / Wedding Pro are geared to new and inexperienced photographers trying to gain exposure. I have been with them almost a year and have not received one client. Other photographers in my market have experienced the same. We are professionals with more business generated through our own websites and social media than paying clients or bookings through Wedding Wire. Don’t get sucked into the yearly contract. It is absolutely not worth the investment. Take that money and invest in your website, SEO’s and social media marketing. Trust me, you’ll thank me for it later.
Not ethical …
I sent multiple samples of proof that I used a vendor and wedding wire refused to publish my review
They trap you in a contract
They trap you in a contract and absolutely refuse to terminate it in perpetuity. You have to end your business before they let you out. I literally no longer live in a county they service and they are still using my name and likeness and refuse to take it down.
