A great business partner for wedding vendors!

Weddingwire has been a great partner for my Mobile DJ business. The platform is very easy to use and the features are great for a small business.I would highly recommend Weddingwire to any wedding vendor that’s looking to take their business to the next level.

Huge Visibility Boost

WeddingWire has proven to have a huge impact for our visibility within the wedding market. We receive a large number of leads from them and we know that we are catching people's attention as well. The main opportunity that we see, however, is that it is a large catch-all for couples and we do not receive a response after responding to general inquiries. I know it has been helpful to our visibility, though it is hard to qualify the actual amount of booked business that has come via WeddingWire. Additionally, our Account Manager Meghan has been superb with all our communications and needs.

Highly recommend!

I was hesitant on signing up as featured member on Wedding Wire but I am SO happy I did! Not only is the support great but the leads are strong & I'm booking more weddings now than I ever have. It's so easy for brides to communicate with me and to leave reviews after! Highly recommend.

Wedding Wire is a cash grab at it's…

Wedding Wire is a cash grab at it's worst. Over the past 2 years, our venue has spent over $30,000 and had declining lead quality, inconsistent notifications and customer service is almost nil.

They changed their model in December 2021 to be more like Google and started charging $32 per lead automatically. They racked up over $4000 in leads that 100% were not quality and were a complete waste of our time.

When I brought up the issues, they refused to give refunds, credits or to pause my account.

If you are a wedding vendor, stay away. Wedding Wire is a waste of money in 2022. They will take your money, not care about the quality of their service, and then tell you that you are out of luck.

“ It is What It is” Knot Weddingwire…

I have been under the Knot Weddingwire umbrella for at lease 10 years, I could not be more happy with service they provide. They have a high ranking on google. Which means I get more hits to my website because I am a vendor on their site. “It is what it is” another pathway for people to find your business. It is hard to get 1st page ranking on google and maintain it. I cant do it. Don’t have the money or the time. WeddingWire/ Knot provide that service for me.
Please understand there’s a lot of people shopping out there or not really ready or can afford to pay your price. Or it’s competitors checking your pricing. You have to weed those out no matter who calls you and how they got your number. I can honestly say that most clients book my services from my website. I always ask the prospects how did they hear about me and they always say Google, WeddingWire or the Knot. Which means they are doing what I pay them to do. I am getting Google ranking through hits to my website because of my ad with Knot Pro and the customer is contacting me through my website and Weddingwire/ Knot. I cannot ask for more. Though the price is high, 1 booking out of 10 inquiries is not bad.
Note If you have a website and it just don’t grab a viewers interest in the first couple seconds, they will most likely look somewhere else any way. The Knot Pro will lead the prospect to you! Its your job to take the information and sell your product.

I don’t understand WHY they won’t let…

I don’t understand WHY they won’t let me pay for my services in full up front. They refuse to let me and want a monthly payment.
Second. I get so many scammer emails. Half of the requests never read my response nor reply.
And yes. They do hire people to send out fake requests. This didn’t take long to figure out. I have vendor friends in many states across the county and the same people will contact them and me. Change the venue.same date. Same names. Like 7 other states. Seriously?

I’m stuck with a monthly payment. Was told if I cancel all my leads will be deleted and my “best of” awards will be taken away.
They give those to almost ALL vendors.
Literally told me “if you cancel we will delete all of your leads and communication and we won’t let you access any of them.”
I said is that a threat?
She said “no it’s policy.”
I said “those were leads I GOT while paying YOU. that’s wrong”.
She said “no. That’s business”.
Never. Ever. Again. I’m done in 5 months and I’ll never resign.

Highly Recommend Wedding Wire for Wedding Pros

I've had a wedding floral business since 2018 as a side job, something to do occasionally for creativity and fun. In December 2020 I decided I wanted to grow my business through advertising. The Wedding Wire seemed like a great place to start as I tested the waters. My business grew rapidly using their platform to get leads in just 1 year. Not only do they offer a great way to connect with clients, many of their tools help streamline my workflow. The value they provide to their wedding professionals goes way beyond an advertising platform. They offer resources and tips that I find so helpful on pricing, client communication, marketing, using social media and even website design tips. I highly recommend partnering with the wedding wire for wedding vendors looking to connect with couples planning a wedding.

I rate a one star which is one to many

I rate a one star which is one to many. I own a wedding venue. I had so many promises about how many couples would reach out for information. What a joke, like clock work around the 13-15 of each month I would get 2-4 emails from possible clients asking for information. Funny thing there was 2 wedding dates that was used on every email. And I would look these people up on Facebook. Because I am in Iowa, I hardly think someone from Ohio, New Jersey, etc and other far away states would want to book a wedding with me. After one year of this I can say I have not booked one single wedding from Wedding Wire or the Knot. What a waste of my hard earned money. I’m thinking about contacting my attorney and or the attorney general to look into these people. After reading so many other complaints, I’m pretty sure I will.

Vendors Beware of Wedding Wire

Vendors Beware! You can only cancel your year long contract within a 5 day period of time. I closed by business in December but have to continue my contract until April. They will only take cancellation requests 5 days before the contract ends, which is the last week fo March. I'm sure they hope I forget and am sucked in for another year! This email is from Ashley on December 14, 2021.

"We cannot accept cancellation notices more than 5 business days in advance
from your final payment. Your contract end date is 4/29/22. Please make a
note to submit your request anytime after March payment.
Let me know if you have any questions

This company is a complete scam!

This company is full of lies and deception. They make you believe they will build your business and lock you into a one-year contract. You get nothing out of them. As a new business I cannot afford to waste money with this company. Save your money and effort and skip WeddingWire & TheKnot. They are a merged company and scam people out of thousands!

Why photographers should be aware of Wedding Wire

My experience with wedding wire has been sadly very bad- Their reviews don't take into account the contract between vendors and their clients. I had a contract with a client who has no right to be refunded in case of cancellation and these clients consciously signed the contract.

They blackmailed me asking to choose to refund them or they would have written a bad review there. And they did it. When I sent to the customer service the proof of what happened, including the contract I signed with the clients they didn't care and decided to pubblish the negative review of the client, even If I had a clear contract with them where is written: the deposit is not refundable in case on cancellation.

Clients could have postponed the date or even chose to have a honeymoon shooting rather than a wedding. I even offered them to go in UK in case they wanted to change their destination wedding. No matter, Wedding wire decided to leave the review there. Now the client has been called in an Italian court by my lawyer but what is important for all of you photographers after reading my review is that you need to be aware. This can happen to you as well.

Wedding wire won't take into account the terms and conditions of the contract that you sign with your clients. Even google takes care of this. So why invest there? If you really want to stay on Wedding Wire I suggest you add this condition in the terms of your contract with your clients: Customers are allowed to publish reviews anywhere and on any portal except Wedding Wire, the only portal in the world that does not take into account the contracts stipulated between customers and suppliers. Whether the review is positive or negative, the customer is not authorized to publish it. The fine will be at least € 10,000 to be paid in appropriate legal offices if this condition will be violated.

This is very important if you want to help yourself as they won't help you. Rather to be the ones who help you to promote yourself they can be your worst enemy on the market. So the only way is to stop your client from writing reviews on their portal until they won't change their bad and damaging policy. Or even better don't subscribe with them and consider more prestigious journals like Style me pretty, Junebug, Wedding Sparrow, and many others more suitable for destination weddings and even less expensive.

I wish this review will be helpful for who like me is caught in their trap.

Stole my Domain

I purchased a domain through Wedding Wire thinking I would use their website platform only to find it incredibly confusing and hard to use, especially for my guests. I went and found another platform and asked Wedding Wire to send me the credentials over in order to forward the website domain onto another platform. I've asked them twice now and they said that they refuse to give it to me.

I spoke with the domain hosting site that Wedding Wire uses, EuroDSN, and they said that because my actual name isn't attached, legally they can't release it to me.

I paid $24.00 for it and it is rightfully mine. I also spent hundreds of dollars on creating wedding invitations with MY website domain and can't send them out now until this is resolved. I am extremely upset and would just like my domain credentials immediately. It's holding up my wedding planning and it's completely unethical.

Weddingpro only shows pocket lining vendors (please read reply)

Reply from a vendor to WP:

Thanks T****
I appreciate you being honest and obviously you just work at weddingpro.

However, a company should not need vendor to sign a 12 month contract if they stand behind their business model and vendors wouldn’t wish to have to “leave” or discontinue service unless they are not receiving the amount of inquires promised (per multiple reviews found on google, chrome and firefox to name a tiny bit).

Also, the verbiage used within the reply “have time for couples to go with competitors” is a sales reply taught to CS individuals when they do not have an honest reply.

Businesses/vendors loose couples when they do not “fit, offer less, or charge mega prices for their services” hence why consultations should be had. Couples SHOULD review and research all vendors. And if they find a better fit…..they should be able to select the better choice.

I’m sorry Weddingpro’s business model is all wrong. It pushes big money vendors so they can make more income forgetting the real reason to be in the wedding business to start, which is to help couples. Also, something this world right now needs more of….. HELP.

We were already offered monthly price ranges from $180 a month to $225 a month which also means “CS agents have the ability to change pricing” depending on which vendor they like or want more. This also reflects on the number of new accounts brought in by the CS agent (sales).

Listen, I am not trying to come down on you personally. The point I am trying to make to “weddingpro” is that they need to be more focused on “doing the right thing, helping others and focus less on making money only”.

I understand this will never probably change, big time companies forget where they came from. They stop helping small business and worry only about lining their pockets

I truly hope down the road, Weddingpro gets reminded. All businesses had to start at the bottom.

At this point, I’m sure you’re rolling your eyes and just hit delete. Everyone has a choice. And vendors have a choice to advertise with companies that have the same “like minded” business model. My husband and I are successful because we “pay it forward” we help where/when we can. We promote other vendors and venues above our own business. It takes a village and we are proving that one couple/venue/vendor at a time. That’s why we are booked. We put our couples FIRST… and not dollar signs.

I wish weddingpro did the same thing. We all cannot “fit” in the same box. We all cannot charge (nor wish to)….big money just because the word “wedding” is mentioned. It’s not about the money for us (we both have full time successful careers already). It’s about “helping others”…

T*****, delete if you will or disregard… but I hope this email finds the “high ups” and reminds them what this business should be about.

Helping couples/vendors find and receive the wedding of their dreams.

Thank you for your time,
One love, One heart
Tori Reigle

Deceiving and Misleading

This is wild. I had the EXACT same experience with wedding wire as the most recent reviewer from 7 days ago. I posted a negative review and was told the service provider disputed it (saying that I was not their customer), and that they would investigate with service provider and have a response in 2 days. I immediately offered to share email correspondence and contracts proving that I was indeed their customer

2 weeks later, and 8 emails later, absolutely no response from wedding wire. Not even to acknowledge any one of my 8 emails I've sent

They clearly are offering to service providers a shielding from any negative reviews. This is unprofessional, immoral and a very big disservice to consumers

For Wedding Wire to conspire with service providers to deceive and mislead consumers as to the quality of the service providers is jaw dropping. Reviews are built on trust. Solely on trust. Wedding Wire has polluted that, which is a surprising and huge disappointment

Vendors pay WeddingWire to take down negative reviews

First all I want to say Weddingwire and The Knot were merged a few years ago(Google it, tons of news reported the merge). The two companies have come together as The Knot Worldwide. I posted a 1 star review about a vendor on The Knot and Weddingwire on August 24th. I got an email from the Weddingwire within a few hours, the email title was "Your review has been disputed by Weddings by Elements NW Events, L.L.C." And "you will receive an email from a member of our Dispute Team within 2-3 business days requesting the necessary documentation needed to reinstate your review on WeddingWire. "My review was taken down from the Knot and Weddingwire at the same time. It's been two months, I didn't get any email from them ever. Besides, I updated my reviews by adding a screenshot of the invoice which we paid to the vendor. It is obvious to me, vendors can delete or hide the negative reviews on The Knot and Weddingwire. I would say The Knot and Weddingwire is the worst websites for wedding couples for seeking creditable vendors. All the money the vendors paid to The Knot and Weddingwire, guess where the money is from. Please stay away from The Knot and Weddingwire when you are looking for wedding vendors.

I have a copy of the email and I'm willing to give the copy to Trustpilot if I'm asked.

Worst business decision I've ever made.

If I could rate wedding pro 0 stars I would. They get all your money and leave you with nothing. I've gotten 1 wedding from them and when you want to back out, they bind you in a contract. So now I'm paying for services that don't give me anything. They said I would get 4 weddings a month and have yet to see that happen. I wanted to change regions because I am moving and they want to charge me for a simple fix of changing my address. Extremely frustrating and would never recommend for anyone. I wish someone would have told me this before I signed up.

Scam

As a wedding videographer, I can say that The Knot and WeddingWire platform is a complete scam. Yes, they do not scam couples, they do not make money from you. Because they collect money from us.

When they advertise, they say "You will book at least 4 weddings a month". The man told me that the summer season is very busy and if I can have 10 weddings in a month. I jumped. I thought this was a good advertisement. Now, I pay almost $300 every month. This is the lowest price for small businesses. Since then (8 months) I have not been able to book a single wedding through their platform.

They scam photographers, videographers, DJs, everybody. They make you believe you will get a reservation but that's a lie. "Hello, we want to know more about your services" etc. They are constantly sending this kind of message. But most of the messages come from bots. The messages are all the same and the names of the couples are the same in different messages.

They collect $300 from thousands of sellers (base: $300 medium: $700 high:1500-3000). There are a few lucky companies that can book weddings to stay at the top of the page (they pay $1500 minimum). Thousands of vendors are listed on page 2 or worse yet, page 20. When you search their platform, there are 68 videographers in my city. No one can book except those listed at the top of the first page. The worst part is that they make you believe and sign a contract for you to stay for 12 months.

Edit: After this review, they sent an email to me, and guess what they told me. "Next year is gonna be the biggest year of weddings, stay with us, etc., etc.". Same strategy. Simply they say: give extra 3000$ dollar for nothing. They try to make you believe this system works.

Tons of fake leads

Tons of fake leads
Before signing with them as a Vendor, check how their website looks from a client point of view. They will fan out a single request to ALL similar vendors. This means that 90% of your "leads" are never interested in your services in the first place.

Oh, and their customer managers are totally unethical and lies to you straightforwardly.
Their claim about SEO is an absolute lie. They never expose any public links to your website.

Money hungry scammers

If I could give zero stars I would. They are money hungry scammers who don't care at all about vendors. They loop you into a "contract" Something you don't sign and is just send to your email but yet prevents you from being able to cancel or close your account. Every other normal subscription service has the option to cancel. They promise you will get a certain amount of leads but instead the majority of leads are fake bots and the ones that are real are price shoppers who don't convert because they don't even read about you they just copy paste the same msg to 100 vendors. Stay away! Don't lose your money with them!
