I get spam email from them

I get spam email from them every time, and every time they pretend to be a different company, wanting my data for various reasons, winning something being the most reason, but when I look at who is sending me the email, I see that every time is from them. I believe that they want to steal data and use it for their own benefits.
BIG SCAM!

Company deliberately misleads

Terrible service and product - charged more and more for a product that has fewer features than the original - my website continues being not secure despite paying more!! Customer service lies about the problem, avoids, sends me back to domain host. Feel totally used for the sake of a business acquisition.

I was very disappointed

I was very disappointed. I had my entire website set up and ready to go, but then I couldn't pay for my plan. I know what you're thinking - I probably didn't have the money covered - but after failing to get in touch with your customer support for days on end, I have moved my site to wix, where i foresee a bright and happy future - say goodbye to another long term client due to your abysmal customer support! Ta ta:-)

Expert User Guide: 15 Years later

I first found Weebly in 2010, when I needed a website to showcase my portfolio after studying a masters degree. I was already a webdesigner, therefore the interface appealed to me - Slick, Drag+Drop and 'not just another Blog!' ... The templates have never been the newest, but are great! Anyway after 2027, they were brought by Block and then Squarespace, they changed there payment model, which used to be a direct payment of $60.00 (anum), to a monthly payment of $12.00 and I agreed to increase as they included better templates, however I feel the site is too slow, the cost is not great - so Weebly, I am sadly leaving, your not that great anymore, sorry!

Weebly is NOT what is used to be

Weebly is NOT what is used to be, stay away or get out ASAP. I've used this platform for 10 years and build numerous sites with success (organic SEO, client contacts, etc). The platform looks essentially the same now as it did a decade ago, there have been next to zero updates. That's pathetic in and of itself, but it also plain doesn't work anymore. Too many glitches and issues to count, all that waste my time and make me want to tear my hair out. Pages I built in the past still work and look fine, but anything new I build is wonky--pictures and text are completely different sizes and spacing published than in the builder. This product has become complete and total garbage. I'm now going through the costly process of migrating my site over to another platform. And I'm fighting to try to get back some of the multiyear subscription I already forked over (back when it still worked okay), but not holding my breath based on other reviews here.

Too much credit card fraud

Too much credit card fraud. As of the 1st of January 2025, I have not been able to extend my websites as I can not make payments Weebly/Square. Consumer protection in Denmark has explained to me that Weebly/Square's payment system had been compromised one too many times. My bank has disallowed all future payments to them because they have raised too many red flags. I have used Weebly/Square since 2018 and it doesnt seem that they are interested in fixing the security issue.
Upon getting emails from Weebly's customer support I was advised to call support or to call another number to make a payment over the phone. Upon calling I encountered a message directing me to enter an 8 digit security code to verify my identity. What code? Needless to say that call ended without any support.
I am more than just disappointed, and maybe a little more than disgusted, mostly for the fact that my business is sitting idle and inaccessible.

Please STAY AWAY - DISGUSTING company

Weebly and Square are absolutely disgusting companies. Customer service is none existent and they will quite happily lie to customer's in order to scam them out of money. We've run our business through a Weebly website for nearly 5 years, and I will be starting again with WIX as soon as possible. I received an email from weebly telling my my yearly subscription fee would be TRIPLING. I contacted weebly support as I thought this had to be a mistake, and I was told that it was a mistake and the fee would not be increasing. Fastforward 1 week, and the triple amount is taken from my bank account. I contact Weebly, at a charge of a £50 phone call to an overseas number, only to basically be told 'tough luck, the fee is increasing really, so either deal with it or we can cancel your website and refund you.' This is terrible customer treatment - leaving me with no option but to cancel my website and be left with no source of income until I am able to rebuild an entire new website through WIX, and transfer my domain name.

Or so I thought! Upon receiving the refund, I have realised I can re-sign up to wix using my same website, for 1 year, for the ORIGINAL COST. So why was Weebly increasing my fee by three times the amount? Just because they wanted to! I've signed on for 1 more year of Weebly, just to keep my website live and money coming in, while I build my new website with WIX.

I really urge everyone to stay as far away from Weebly and Square as possible. Absolutely disgusting.

Terrible - Weebly has gone downhill

Terrible weebly has gone downhill, I cannot even get my SSL certificate to work on the website, even though it says its working on the CMS back end? Weebly loves to point blame instead of fixing the issues. What a sham!!! no customer service whatsoever.
It's been months for them to even acknowledge a ticket.
Been with them for over 10 years with many websites. But I am going to slowly use Duda or WordPress.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO WEEBLY?

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO WEEBLY?
It used to be a great platform and I set up 2 great websites with videos pages, links etc but since merging with square the whole system has collapsed.
I can no longer log in to edit my sites and the support is hopeless.
I have just spent 50 minutes being passed from one 'specialized' assistant to another and gave up as I was being sent to the 6th clueless wonder.
Their integration systems simply don't work and all my time setting the sites up has been wasted.
I give up and will take the opportunity to find something that works.
Very disappointed as I was about to set up square purchasing options through the site.

Took my money for a cancelled account

Took my money for a cancelled account, refuse to give me a refund and no longer reply to emails. They're denying even taking my money, even when presented with a screenshot of the bank transaction.

Edit: after three months of numerous emails to Weebly and Square, and a cancelled card (upon my bank's advice, so they can't take my money again), finally received a refund. Still a disgraceful shambles of a company.

blackmailing customers

Indeed, one of my worst mistakes building my website with weebly. Old-fashioned platform, poor to non-existing customer service, and on top of it all - blackmailing their clients. After almost a decade that my website was connected to an external domain,
The company decided to take advantage of existing customers with a 3rd party domain, and simply restrict this connection, by demanding outrageous fees [130 euros per year!]. Of course the site's data is not transferable to other platforms.
Had my entire body of works was not stored in their servers, I would wish this company would simply vanish. But now I'm just stuck with them.
DO NOT make the same mistake!

WEEBLY/SQUARE EQUALS SCAM

Everything that others have written below. How can square be associated with this. I am trying to get my money back for an upgraded subscription and I used the credit for the 'free' domain name and that is basically unusable. I've ended up with two square accounts, can't link the domain to my original square account. I have spent so many hours on chats, emails with screenshots and phone calls when you can get to talk to someone, and then still nothing happens. The email consults are a different person every single time asking for the same info, then you never hear from them again.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible customer service. I have a very basic, no frills, nothing special site and just got a bill for $900 for a year for a “Premium Site”! What?!?!? I NEVER had a premium site. You cannot even contact them. There is no phone number, email address or any way to reach them. Square (owns them) and said they did not see a charge for that much. Do not waste your time with these trolls.

Laughably bad customer service

Having had a pro subscription through an in-app purchase since 2020, I unexpectedly got an email saying my site would be unpublished due to non-payment.

When I contacted customer service they claimed they do not accept payments via Apple. When I emailed them with a screenshot from my account showing that I had an existing pro subscription via an in-app purchase plus monthly payments to them via Apple Pay, they doubled down saying they have never accepted in app payments and, moreover, they have not received payment for my subscription at any time in the last four years and had no idea where four years of monthly payments might have gone and I ought to speak to Apple. My site is being unpublished now because, apparently, it took them four years to notice they weren’t being paid!

Generally left with the sense that Weebly is on its last legs and no one has a clue as to what they’re doing. Going to delete my site and start afresh with a well-known competitor. I suggest others do the same.

Basically a big scammy website owned by Square and tricks you into paying for excessive stuff you don’t need

Firstly their website building is crap.

Secondly you have to PAY to have stock numbers on their site - if you don’t, customers could hit you with too many sales and exceed your capacity. So you have to monitor it yourself.

Square OWNS Weebly, so you can use them as your payment provider BUT after you start taking payments and selling items they get you to fill in forms for your business.

If you don’t meet the criteria, they BAN you from the payment platform and!!! they withhold all the customer payments from you for 90 days! They won’t tell you why you don’t meet the criteria and they won’t reinstate it.

So basically they now hold £4000 of my customers’ / my money and are creaming in the interest from it.

Finally, if you chose another payment provider, like PayPal, you have to pay Weebly (Square) a monthly fee of about £20 for the privilege… so either way they make money from you.

I’m so effing ANGRY RIGHT NOW.

These people are clearly scammers - it’s the only explanation.

I’m escalating the matter internally but I will be taking it to the financial ombudsman service to get them banged to rights.

If I could give Weebly 0 stars I would

If I could give Weebly 0 stars I would. I have been a Weebly customer for over a decade. I have created many websites using the Weebly editor. Square bought Weebly and now it is useless. It is impossible to get any real help. I was on the phone for hours getting switched back and forth from Weebly to Square and they never solved a simple problem. Email help is a joke.
The editor still works but their account administration is terrible. In the past I thought Weebly was a great website editor. Now, it is impossible to work with them.
