Very dishonest company and people…

Very dishonest company and people altough I had deactivated the recurrent mo subscription they kept

Do Not Use this Company

After 12 years as a happy customer the new owners deliberately did not send me a renewal email so they could force me onto a new plan.

From $40 per year to $1200 per year for my websites.

Inadequate customer support

The company stated that it was the other hosting companies fault. Turns out after 3 days and 4 different case numbers. There company does not support VPS name servers or "custom name servers". So, do not park your domain here. Do not bother writing down your case number as well. The tech support cannot reference them.

Be aware that the so called "Free Plan" does not allow you to create a webshop. They hide it well, and you will not see it before after you have done all the work to set up the page... Then they will ask you to pay for it to work.

I've had the misfortune of using this platform, and let me tell you, it's been nothing short of a digital nightmare.

First off, let's talk about their so-called "customer service." I've encountered more knowledgeable toddlers than #Weebly's representatives. It's as if they've never even seen a website, let alone know how to build one. Every interaction feels like a blind leading the blind scenario, with me often having to educate them about basic website building concepts. How is that even possible?

SEO? Don't make me laugh. If you're hoping to rank anywhere on search engines, #Weebly might as well be a black hole where your website's visibility goes to die. Their platform is so outdated and clunky that even the most basic SEO practices become a Herculean task. And don't even get me started on their "SEO advice." It's like asking a fish how to fly.

Unresponsive? That's putting it mildly. Trying to get a hold of #Weebly's support is like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. And on the rare occasion that they do respond, their advice is often so off-base that it's laughable. I've received better tech support from my grandmother, and she still uses a rotary phone.

In a digital age where website building should be intuitive, efficient, and supportive, #Weebly stands out as a glaring example of how NOT to do things. Their platform is a labyrinth of outdated features, their customer service is a joke, and their overall approach to helping users is nothing short of abysmal.

Impossible to contact support

Recurrent billing errors

Recurrent billing errors - they incorrectly applied VAT for our account for more than a year and are no longer responding to emails to solve it. Pathetic. If you cant comply with international tax laws then you have no business offering your service internationally.

If I could give them a 0 I would. First, I can't get into my Weebly Account. Then I can't log into Square. There is no customer service for either. Square says I need to pay by end of the month. OK how do I do that? Can't get into either. Customer service is nonexistent. I am caught in Weebly/Square hell! Weebly used to be so easy to use. WTH?

Someone had the exact SAME email address as me?!

I've never been to this website before and I was super excited because Weebly had a free subscription. I had finished putting in my information so I could sign up. But my access was denied because it said someone account had the EXACT SAME email address as mine?!

I tried putting in other emails of mine and it did the exact same thing.

This was so disappointing.

Difficult to Use, No Support

Very hard to use architecture for building a website; plus no customer support! Created an online store through partnership with Square. The site builder is hard to use and features are limited. Ran into trouble and ONLY has a weak online support. Phone support ONLY for high tier customers!

Crooks...Thieves

I canceled my website fijiyogurthillcrest.com 2 years ago. They are still charging me for a website that's deactivated. I no longer have an account with Weebley so I cannot log into their site. However, you can only contact them if you have an active account with them. Therefore, I am unable to get in contact through any means! No phone calls, no chat, you cant even email them! I've tried! Their website says all "customers" can receive support. Thats exactly what they mean. If you are not a current customer, they have blocked all forms of communication with them. So if they gave access to your credit card, they will continue to charge you but you have no way to contact them to stop it. Now I have to contact my CC and try to reverse the charges! I would NEVER do busoness with them or Square again, and certainly wouldn't recommend their services

Legislation Needed to prevent companies like Weebly from causing more harm to businesses

Weebly is the worst company. We have been dealing with this since November 2022, and it is now May 2023. The Attorney General is also involved because the crime is so outrageous. We properly and correctly disputed our Nonprofit business plan bill. Instead of fixing the issue of them not applying the nonprofit and tax-exempt status they approved previously that year, they shut us down along with our 6 other websites that had nothing to do with the disputed bill.

We finally got them to turn all the sites back on but...they deleted the bi-annual (every 2 years) subscriptions for 3 of them. Two of those sites are still paid through 2024 and there has been no refund.

But the worst is the destruction of our Nonprofit website that has been around for decades. Not only did they shut it down, and deleted the subscription but they allowed it to get hacked. Attacked so badly, that we cannot even publish the site because it will hack anyone who goes to it.

In fact, this problem has escalated to our domains and their emails being constantly blacklisted for no reason except that someone or something keeps trying to sign into our emails and domains. And this causes a red black that gets you blacklisted. Weebly denies all of this. This is NOT OKAY!!

We have provided endless evidence to support our side of things. Evidence that came straight from their site and emails to us. Evidence that proves Weebly retaliated against us for disputing our bill. We properly and correctly disputed this bill by first trying to call them and discuss the matter for 3 weeks. This was an epic fail. Once the AMX bill came in, they advised that I dispute the bill as I have solid evidence that I was being overcharged.

But wait for it. Weebly's legal department told the AG that they needed an extension of time to investigate. They looked at absolutely nothing and instead told us we had to start a new subscription, with a new price, for the nonprofit and told us we had to pay for a new subscription for the other two sites, even though they are good until 2024. Where is the refund for my subscription they cancelled and are making us re-buy? By the way, if they really had investigated, they would have found their own bill on their own site under payments showing that the sites were paid for. And they would have seen that every year, we have had nonprofit status and that for the year 2022, we applied and were granted by them, nonprofit status.
Clearly, they did not bother to look at the evidence. Clearly, they think they are above the law. And clearly this is a terrorist act of retaliation for disputing a bill correctly. Clearly, this is a scam company. Clearly, they think we are just going to sit back and let this happen.

WE NEED LEGISLATION TO PROTECT CONSUMERS FROM COMPANIES THAT STEAL OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BY SHUTTING THEIR SERVICES TO US DOWN FALSELY. WE HAVE A RIGHT AS CONSUMERS TO DISPUTE A BILL WITHOUT HAVING OUR SERVICES SHUT OFF. IF THIS WAS A UTILITY COMPANY, THEY WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS. THE SAME SHOULD APPLY FOR THESE MERCHANTS AS THIS ACT DESTROYS BUSINESSES.

Unable to Pay

Needed to pay for an upgrade for multi-language. Disabled VPN, adblockers, etc. PayPal still will not load. Payment by credit card option says cards for Barclaycard also Tide not accepted. Run out of ideas as to how I might pay. Do I really have to pay by Bitcoin?

Weebly used to be great but now it is a mess. Customer service (chat) refused to help with a minor problem and getting to talk to a real person is impossible. I called three times and I was hung up on. And I have a PAID account!! Stay FAR FAR FAR away from this mess!
