“€40 book, then a €29 ‘gotcha’ charge — no refund”
I bought the Welcome Baby book for around €40 and installed the “free” Android app that comes with it (first month free). I missed the cancellation deadline by one day and they charged me €29 for a monthly subscription. I contacted customer service immediately, but they were unfriendly and refused to refund the accidental charge.
This feels less like a family-friendly product and more like a trap to squeeze extra money out of paying customers. If you’re considering this book, be aware you can end up paying far more than you expected, and support may not help when something goes wrong. I don’t recommend it.

Disappointed. Ordered the hardcover book which is not cheap, requested a change shortly after placing the order and was told that this was not possible due to my order already being in production. No option to escalate to senior management and no alternative solution offered.

This company is extremely deceptive. They automatically charge you every single month for their app whether you download it or not.
They falsely advertise it as “free” when you purchase, but later you’ll find a $42 CAD charge on your account without proper warning.
This is misleading, unethical, and feels like a complete scam. Be very careful before giving them your payment information.
Stay away unless you want surprise charges on your card.
