Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such detailed and honest feedback. Although we’re gutted to hear that Bob didn’t live up to the expectations set by our ads, we really do appreciate you giving us a try and sharing your experience so openly.

We completely understand your frustration around the lather, longevity, and overall feel of the applicator. Bob is definitely a very different way to wash, and while lots of customers love the switch, we know it won’t click with everyone straight away. The lather in particular can take a little getting used to, as a quick, firm circular motion with the applicator tends to build things up much better than using it like a traditional body wash.

We’ve actually recently upgraded our formula to improve both the richness of the lather and the strength of the scent, while still keeping the naturally derived ingredients and plastic-free approach at the core of what we do. As a very new startup, we’re constantly learning and refining based on feedback exactly like yours.
In terms of longevity, our community generally tells us they get around 10–15 washes per bar, but we know this can vary depending on washing style, shower length, and how much lather you prefer. We also appreciate your point around value for money, especially when expectations are set high.

Ultimately, we’re really sorry that Bob hasn’t worked for you in the way you’d hoped.

We completely appreciate your feedback on bar longevity, too. Most of our community tends to get around 10–15 washes per bar, although things like shower length and frequency of use. And as you pointed out, body size and hairiness can definitely make a difference too.

To help tackle this for customers who go through bars more quickly, we recently introduced Bob Bundles, which offer more refills at a discounted cost to provide better overall value and ensure customers have enough bars to last throughout the month.

We’re really pleased to hear Bob has been a great fit for the gym and travelling with work. Portability and convenience were a huge part of what we wanted to create.

In terms of using Bob at home, we completely understand that it can feel a little different compared to larger traditional soap bars or body wash at first.

We usually find that getting the best experience comes down to technique, ensuring both the bar/applicator and your skin are fully wet, then using fast circular motions to build up a rich lather quickly and get an efficient full-body wash.

Regarding the piece of soap left over. The applicator is designed that way to hold the soap securely; if it were pushed up too far, it would likely fall out during use.

That said, we completely understand your point, and it’s definitely something we could look at for future development. For now, we usually recommend applying a little more pressure toward the end to get the most out of the bar. Some customers also prefer to pop the remaining piece out and use it manually to avoid any waste.

Our applicators use wiperseal technology to securely grip and hold the bar in place, so what you’ve described definitely doesn’t sound right. We’d really love to take a closer look at this for you and help get it sorted.

We’re also really sorry to hear that the overall experience didn’t quite work for you personally. Bob is definitely a different shower experience compared to traditional body wash or larger soap bars, and we completely understand that it won’t suit everyone’s preferences or routine.

In terms of the lather, we usually recommend ensuring both your skin and the applicator are fully wet before use, then applying in circular motions to help create the best lather and coverage possible. This would also make it a more comfortable experience on the bony parts of the body.
