HI Weldrick Ltd is a family-owned company registered in England and based in Doncaster, Yorkshire- we have had an internet presence since 1998. We fully pay UK taxes and we do not divulge your personal data to any third parties. We have a pharmacy tradition dating back to the 1930s when our late founders' grandmother opened her first pharmacy in Doncaster Town Centre. Remaining true to his vision our business remains 100% family-owned. With a commitment to community healthcare and staff training we have steadily grown to 59 pharmacies in the South Yorkshire area. We employ over 600 formally trained staff among who are more than 80 pharmacists, including 9 clinical pharmacists. While our aim is not to make any mistakes we recognise they will happen occasionally and if they do we commit to communicating with our customers, do our best to put the problem right, identify the cause of the error and learn from it.

Poor communication, slow delivery

One star for the good price but that’s it. Dreadful customer service, I have emailed twice to chase up my order, no reply. Bearing in mind this is medication I’ve ordered, I really need delivery to be quicker. Other online pharmacies have always dispatched by return. I will wait for this order to arrive but I’m afraid I won’t use Weldrick’s again.

Thank you for leaving your review. I’m very sorry to hear that you feel our customer service has been poor.
As our service levels are currently on target overall, I asked my IT colleagues to investigate what has happened in your case. Unfortunately, the emails you sent confirming you had placed an order, along with your follow up message on Friday, were incorrectly routed into our spam folder.
The security controls that help protect our website were, on this occasion, overly aggressive. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused. Our IT team has now whitelisted your email address so your messages should not be intercepted again.
I am also very sorry for the delay you have experienced with your recent order. I completely understand that when it comes to your pet’s health, any wait for medication can be worrying and I appreciate your patience.
At the moment we are operating at the maximum timescales stated on our website for dispensing and dispatch. This is due to our transition into our recently extended veterinary dispensing facility here in Doncaster. The move is designed to improve our delivery timeframes, but while we adjust staffing roles and complete some training, some orders are taking the full stated processing time.
Please be assured that our clinical team is prioritising prescriptions as we stabilise the transition and return to our usual timescales. Your order has now been dispensed and is being dispatched today.

Very long delivery times, twice! If you need it within a week go elsewhere

Great price for which they get 1 star but delivery is so long! So if you need you order within a week pay for express because the processing time is long! 1st order took 9 days to arrive so stupidly ordered again thinking it's a 1 off but no 9 days in and still not processed or shipped. 100% not using them again. I'd rather pay a pound or 2 more and get what I need in a decent time frame.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that our delivery times haven’t met your expectations on these two occasions.

We completely understand that when you’re waiting for medication, every day counts. While most of our orders are delivered to customers within a few days, to avoid setting up unrealistic expectations and to allow for occasional foreseeable delays we clearly state on our website at time of ordering that prescription orders can take up to 5 working days from receipt of the prescription.

For your most recent order, we were handling a Controlled Drug, which by law, we cannot begin processing until we have the original paper prescription in our hands. In this instance, your prescription reached us on Tuesday 10th February, and we dispatched your order on Monday 16th February meeting our 5-day safety and quality commitment.

We know that waiting 9 days from the point of ordering feels like a long time, but a significant portion of that window is often taken up by the post reaching us from the Vet.

We appreciate your business and would love the chance to provide a smoother experience in the future. I have also arranged for a member of our customer service team to contact you and check you are satisfied with my explanation and to find if there is anything else we can do to assist you further.

I used Weldricks online service and…

I used Weldricks online service and found it to be less than acceptable. I ordered some Beroca Tablets and 1 week after ordering received the wrong product that I then had to take to the Post Office to return. 3 weeks on the product is still not here so I have cancelled.
Good Price but poor service delivery. Not sure the web page is linked to their stock !

I was extremely sorry to learn from your review that due to our dispatch error you received the wrong variant of your product. Please accept my sincere apologies for our mistake, by way of explanation and not as an excuse, we have a three-stage checking process before an order is sent to our customers but clearly on this occasion the picking error was not identified by us. When errors occur, they are fully reviewed by the respective team in our business and our ambition is to see that they are prevented from reoccurring.

I can see that one of my customer care colleagues immediately, re-ordered the correct item from our supplier, however, although this item is showing as being available in their warehouse the correct item hasn’t arrived with us. Please be assured that we will discuss this with our account manager at our next review meeting, and ask that they fully investigate to find out what has happened and to prevent it from happening again in the future.

I understand how inconvenient it is for you to have to use your time in correcting our mistake so if you don’t mind, I will ask one of my customer care colleagues to contact you to find out if you are happy with my explanation, and I do hope this human error will not deter you from remaining one of our valued customers,

I am sorry to learn from this review that your order has taken longer than you expected to be processed and delivered to you.
I have traced your order which was received Thursday 29th January at 4.58pm. While most of our orders are delivered to our customers within a few days, to avoid setting up unrealistic expectations and to allow for occasional foreseeable delays we clearly state on our website at time of ordering that it can take from 3-5 working days for dispatch of customer orders and from 1-3 working days for the order to be delivered by our delivery partners, this is a maximum of 8 working days. We are therefore still on track to deliver your order within the timeframe that we state on our website and as soon as it leaves us you will receive a dispatch confirmation and tracking information by email.

I do value all customer comments on our service and I will arrange for your review to be considered in our next planning meeting.

I hope that you are happy with my explanation however if you should require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Delivery can take almost two weeks even…

Delivery can take almost two weeks even though we have placed the order online with the prescription pdf attached.
We always have to contact them after a week for a delivery date.
We send the orginal prescription first class with proof of postage but still need to contact Weldricks for an update.

 By way of explanation, and not as an excuse, we are unable to begin processing orders for controlled‑drug medication until the original hard‑copy prescription arrives with us by post. The legal requirement for us to physically hold the prescription before dispensing means we must, in turn, rely on courier companies to deliver it to us, and this stage alone can take 3–5 working days. Upon receipt of prescriptions, our pharmacy team begins processing orders the same day.

Before an order is transferred to our dispensary, we must complete all legally required checks for controlled veterinary prescriptions. This includes verifying the authenticity of the original prescription, ensuring the dose is safe and appropriate for the species and condition, checking for any potential interactions with other medications on record, and confirming that the prescribed quantity is reasonable for the stated treatment plan. I appreciate that these steps can extend the overall timeline, but they are essential to ensure the safe and compliant supply of medication in line with UK regulations.

On reviewing your orders with us, I can confirm that each one was dispatched within 5 working days of us receiving the original prescription and delivered within 48 hours of dispatch using your chosen delivery service. A dispatch email is always sent as soon as an order has been shipped so customers know their parcel is on its way. While I fully understand your disappointment, we did deliver your order within the timeframe stated on our website. 

I do understand the point you are making, which I take to be that some of our competitors—often larger, highly mechanised multinational businesses—may offer shorter dispatch times. We have discussed this internally and have chosen to remain what we are: a family‑owned, Yorkshire‑based business that employs local staff and pays full UK taxes, rather than an impersonal, automated operation that removes people from the process. Because much of our work is carried out manually, we have additional checking steps at dispatch to minimise the risk of human error. For this reason, we state delivery timeframes that reflect these processes and allow for any foreseeable delays.
