As a therapist, I feel very disappointed with my experience of Welldoing. They charge a significant upfront fee to join their directory, along with ongoing quarterly fees, but I didn’t receive a single enquiry during the three months I was listed.
During the same period, I received several enquiries through other directories, so I don’t believe the issue was with my profile. When I raised this and requested a refund of my most recent fee, I was refused without any meaningful explanation.
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this service.
I was with Welldoing for a year and had very few referrals. Then I tried them again to see if there had been an improvement but sadly not as I received even fewer contacts and some spam. I was given the feedback that referrals was not what the platform is about, that it's is more about therapists receiving CPD and connection. The bottom line is therapists join platforms to receive work! Having said that, they are very polite and responsive so if you're looking for a community support vibe give it a go and you may feel you have value for money but if you're seeking customers I wouldn't bother.
I love Welldoing for its genuine sense of community. As a private practitioner working from home, it’s an essential part of my self-care to enjoy the personal connections fostered here. There is a diverse and stimulating programme of lunchtime CPD and a vast library of articles to draw upon. Discussions in the public arena find immediate critical reflection. The team swiftly deal with any queries or problems that arise. There is altogether the dynamism and engagement of a happy place, where everyone matters. My membership fee is money well spent. If only all professional therapy organisations could be like this!

All round a fairly average, but definitely unproblematic experience. The interface is OK, but could be aesthetically of a higher standard - the functionality of the profile settings is a little clunky and slow (across various browsers) but generally good and preferable to the limitations provided by Psychology Today. Support have been responsive where I've had issues.
Most importantly though (and why I considered a 2 star rating), is that I've been registered on here as a therapist for 2 months, and compared to other directories have had significantly fewer profile views and interest. To some degree I'm not certain that this is entirely the platform's fault - seems like hard times getting referrals for many therapists...regardless however, referrals is the name of the game for a site like this and the data compared to other sites isn't favourable, so can't justify a higher rating in combination with the other things mentioned.
As per other posts I guess there will be a comment below stating that 2 months isn't long enough to start getting work - but rather than simply offering that statement, I'd be interested to know what Welldoing suggest could be hoped for by waiting when it seems that traffic is just so much higher on other platforms for comparable costs? Is this how their algorithm works? Again, it seems like this may not be entirely their fault, but unless there's something more substantial beyond, essentially, "you need to be patient", it doesn't seem like it's worth the cost.
That said, glad to see that there are service users on here who are having a worthwhile experience as that is ultimately what it is about - and so if you are looking at this in search of counselling, please don't let the experience at this side of the fence discourage you in any way, as the concerns are entirely different at 'this side of the fence.'

Very easy to use website, clear information about the therapists and many options.

I have been with Welldoing now for a few years as a therapist and I am very happy with the website, which has recently been updated and is easy to use, plus what they offer to therapists as part of the monthly subscription fee. The CPD events are excellent, well-coordinated and cover a good range of topics. Earlier this year I did a ‘Working with Dreams’ training that came via a series of events on Welldoing with the therapist who ran the course. I would certainly recommend this site to both practitioners and those looking to find a personal therapist.

Welldoing has been an incredibly valuable resource in my work as a therapist. Not only does it offer a great way to connect with clients through its matching system, but it also provides a wealth of opportunities for professional development.
The platform is well-designed, therapist-focused, and truly supportive. I’ve found the CPD offerings to be insightful, relevant, and genuinely enriching and they have really helped deepen my practice. It’s more than just a directory; it’s a space that encourages growth and learning.
I highly recommended Welldoing for any therapist looking to build their practice while continuing to develop professionally.

I’ve really appreciated my experience with Welldoing so far. The peer review session I attended was incredibly thoughtful and supportive, and it’s clear the team genuinely cares about creating a helpful community for therapists. While I haven’t yet had clients come through the platform, I’ve been able to easily create a profile and felt supported every step of the way. The process has been smooth and intuitive, and it was a lovely surprise to see them promote my profile as well. A really positive experience overall!

I've gained a lot of value in the CPD events organised through Welldoing. I've also had all my queries responded to quickly and professionally by the team.

The website has been amended and is very user-friendly for the practitioners, including useful features like putting short videos with the description, which makes the person come alive and it is easier for clients to see if they feel like it will be a good match for them.
I find especially useful the regular CPDs organised by welldoing.org, inviting interesting lecturers, who discuss their work and modern research. It is very informative, user-friendly from a zoom call and interactive, as we always have a Q&A session at the end.

I’ve been consistently impressed by the breadth and quality of training and CPD on offer through Welldoing. The platform curates an exceptional range of opportunities from in-depth courses to shorter, targeted workshops, all designed with relevance to current practice.
What sets Welldoing apart is the combination of high-calibre professional development and their therapist matching service, which gives clients access to a huge network of highly qualified therapists and clinicians. Whether clients are matched through the platform’s intelligent system or browse and choose for themselves, the standard of available therapists is consistently strong.
Highly recommended.

Payment link is not working for referral service which is expensive. No contact number or help links. If they have not interest in properly facilitating their referrals, then how can anyone trust them with their mental health. This does not instill confidence in the company or service.
Responding to the comment from company- it is not user error. Instead of blaming your clients, perhaps look into site function issues since you just updated. That said, the lack of help function other than an email with a response time of 48 hrs is not acceptable when you run a service that requires payment.

Its a very static website, didn't get any enquiries in my time as a subscriber.
I joined this website, Welldoing.com, but did not get a confirmation email, just an internal welcoming message. I added my bank details, and clicked on their referral service. It wouldn’t let me go past the first step (there seem to be 5 steps). I messaged them internally to ask for help and have not heard back. It’s been 5 days. I’ve made several attempts in the meantime, but don’t seem to get past the first step. The website is not intuitive and the follow-up is non-existent. I’m so very disappointed. I’ve also noticed that they haven’t got back to anyone who complained about them on Trustpilot for over a week. This is not how you run a business.

Waste of money. I didn’t receive any help. I truly regretting to sign to this platform.
Emailed a therapist 3 days ago and haven’t heard back!!!! Very disappointed and a tad unprofessional.
As a therapist, Welldoing has a friendly and supportive approach. They seem to have a good understanding of the practical needs of the microbusinesses that therapists operate, and they also offer good educational, promotional and networking opportunities.
