Hi Lorraine,

I believe our chef support team have already been in touch with you this morning and have processed a full refund. We can only sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Unfortunately, there was a glitch in our system which allowed to you place an order, even though you are outside our delivery area. As your address isn't on UK mainland our driver simply wasn't able to reach your address today, so we weren't able to honour your order. Again, we sincerely apologize for the stress and inconvenience this has caused.

Kind Regards
Rachel, Wellocks at Home

Disappointing

Disappointing. There were items missing from the order, the delivery guy confirmed they had not been in stock for awhile despite still being able to select them on the website..he was just as unimpressed about that as I was! Refund took forever! Although some of the items were good some were already well past their best, there was an orange in the fruit box which had been squeezed by whoever packed it so the fruit/pulp was all over, raspberries went moldy overnight so they were obviously old, passion fruit was soft & inedible, the use by date on mozzarella was the following day...so not really impressed overall! I wont recommend them & I wont use them again which is a shame but if I pay for good quality food I expect the food which turns up to be good quality & in the very least edible!

No response to this email I sent.

No response to this email I sent.
Firstly thank you for some delicious food due in part from clearly high quality ingredients.
The concept of the virtual dining experience is a lovely idea although I feel it needs some refining.
I received this as a surprise gift ( I suggest you recommend future recipients are aware of it's arrival due to time constraints and diary commitments let alone fridge space!)
So firstly, the extreme short notice of my delivery slot was a problem. My mother who bought the gift received notification on 29th July at approximately 11pm announcing a 6.15am to 8.15am window the following morning. That email was forwarded to myself but I was already asleep. Once I was awake, had looked at my messages and spoke to my mother I eventually found 3 huge sodden boxes stacked outside my back door.
Had I had sufficient warning for this delivery I would not have let it sit out in the pouring rain for hours.
So contents dried and crammed into suitable storage (bearing in my mind my fridge was already bursting at the seams packed with  a planned garden party foodstuffs) I read the accompanying literature which told me this had to be cooked by Sunday, I had planned to chill out from said garden party on Sunday so wasn't liking being pressured into it ( at this point I'd like to suggest people pay for a voucher and chose when they want to receive package with a link as its not live interaction anyway)but as things panned out the region went into visitor lockdown.
Not that lockdown is your fault but it meant that I had to cook this fabulous meal for two on my own for myself and let me tell you it was a mission. Hours and hours of work, the video was an an hour and a half, the prep was a couple of hours,  I was exhausted!
Some of the ingredients were bad or missing.
Only 1 lemon when the juice of 1 and a half are required.
No basil only baby basil when both are needed.
Mint had rotted and turned smelly and black
One of the beef tomatoes was green and mouldy.
Also some of the recipes are confusing when referring to cream and creme fraiche measurements as they alternate between ml and g.
I'm sorry if that feels like a rant but it felt very stressful but I know it could have been a really wonderful experience.

The products on offer are usually good, but sadly after being a lifeline during lockdown, the experience has been very disappointing since.

Every single week there is at least one item (usually multiple items, and in one case half the order) missing. The items have apparently sold out, despite still being available on the website.

Often you are not informed that items are not there - with no replacement - until you look through the box. All the more bizarre when you have to confirm the order some days in advance.

If you are lucky, you will get the items refunded without having to challenge Wellocks. But if you've opted for an item as part of a deal, don't expect a refund or much of an apology either.

It's a great shame, because the delivery staff seem friendly and I like supporting local business especially when the products (that are present!) are good. But this is marketed and priced as a premium offering, and regular missing items and lax after-sales support feel very out of place. Unfortunately, Wellocks at Home is no longer reliable enough for me to recommend to anyone.

Crispy fresh and a good selection

I have been ordering an assortment of items from Wellocks at Home since the Covid-19 crisis hit and I hope to continue with them after the crisis has passed.

I order pretty randomly, rather than a regular box and it's great to be able to have that option. So far things I've tried have included fruit and veg boxes, Best of British box, baker's box and various pantry, chilled and produce items.

The standard has always been excellent. Very fresh and crisp (with the exception of a bag of little Heritage potatoes that were really soft and a bit squidgy - but that would have probably been difficult for the packer to spot). It's lovely to find things in the boxes that I haven't tried before and some things I was convinced I wouldn't like but am now converted to.

There was one small problem with one item in a recent order, but it was an honest mistake and quickly and generously rectified. Huge thanks to Kim for that!

Anyone can make a mistake. The ethics of a company can be seen in how it reacts and mitigates a mistake. Kim and Wellocks at Home went above and beyond and I'm thankful and impressed.

Disappointed

Was moved over from Food on the Table where the service and products were excellent, to their new service which has been one disaster after another. There was a complete mess up with the first order and only half arrived on the given date. Rang them and they were helpful and I was sent the promised free welcome box the following day but sadly it was appalling quality (their own words having been sent photos) with such as slimy Kale and wilted cucumber. Their apology was a 10% discount from my next order, I was not happy with this as irrespective of it being a free box the quality reflected badly on the company as a whole which they were quick to tell me was Able and Cole.

They suggested if I was not happy they would cancel my subscription, I requested they do so. As such I was more than a little surprised this morning to discover my bank account had been debited for a further charge. On checking I discovered my Wellocks account was still active and there was an order out for delivery (Saturday instead of my usual Friday) and that the debit from my account was £3.00 greater than the cost of the £15 veg box and their £3.50 pps.

Several messages and mails later I still await their explanation and refund.
