Im gonna stop buying this product…

Im gonna stop buying this product because of the packaging! What’s the point in having this thread thing?! Why not just a normal, straight forward packaging? I had to google how to open it, never managed to do it (I still can’t believe I wasted time to look up how to open a bag of flour!!!!) I’ve been cutting it with scissors and then you end up with a bag of flour full of holes!!! What’s t f point???

Top Quality Flours

I started baking bread again after a thirty year hiatus. Back then I could buy flour from Pitstone Windmill (built 1627) from local Bedfordshire wheat, but alas no more. Wessex Mill provides the exact modern equivalent. For example their strong white flour comes from Battle Marsh and Walkers Farms in Oxfordshire. First class bread flour, and you know exactly where it comes from. Always well packaged too. OK, its a bit more expensive than supermarket flour but quality wise their flour is streets ahead. Try their Doves Farm dried yeast, which has been better than Allinson's. Their French flour for baguettes does not name the farm(s), but makes wonderful baguettes.

Split bag and replaced

I purchased Wessex Mill Cobber flour just before Christmas with the intention of making loaves for friends and family. Unfortunately the bag arrived split with tape around the box saying ‘repackaged by DPD’. So the flour was spoiled and unusable. Wessex Mill were then on holiday over the Christmas period and also the Cobber flour ran out of stock. So I’ve had to wait around twenty days for my replacement. Obviously this isn’t down to Wessex Mill but DPD’s handling of my delivery. Zero stars for DPD and five for the quality of Wessex Mill flours. A small suggestion to Wessex Mill would be to keep the customer informed of when you ship replacements.

Customer Services very helpful

I had problems with an overcharge for delivery to Highlands and Islands. However once Emma in customer services understood the problem, she was very helpful and quick to find a solution.

Incomplete Order and Poor Customer Service

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Wessex Mill. My recent order was incomplete, and despite sending multiple emails, I've received no response or resolution. The lack of communication and customer service is unacceptable. I hope they take steps to improve their order fulfillment and customer support.

Update

The team from Wessex Mill eventually responded and apologised for the issue. They explained that they couldn't send small items individually and refunded the item. However, this left you out of pocket and required sourcing the item elsewhere, which wasn't an ideal resolution.
I am still frustrated with how the situation was handled, and inconvenience caused.

excellent flour and brilliant customer service

There was a small issue with my order being delivered later than the ETA and Wessex Mill sent me a very polite email explaining they were milling my flour fresh within a few days. True to their word, the flour arrived promptly and is absolutely fantastic for my sourdough. I'm delighted with my whole experience with Wessex Mill, from ordering online (their site is easy to navigate), to them contacting me to keep me updated, to the flour being delivered fresh from the millers. Many thanks from a highly satisfied customer.
