This is the worst car loan company ever…

This is the worst car loan company I've ever experienced. They have been misleading and opened several small claims on me with more interest, during my personal relationship and hardship and business goals. Find another trusted well branded company. Thank you but unfortunately this company wasn't for me. I won't be returning in the future.

hard to make payments bad customer service

These people are ridiculous. I had to cosign my child's loan. they have all our financial info comingled, so if you call, they have the wrong name with the wrong social with wrong phone number etc. Then once you get past that, it's SO hard to make payments. If you make a payment outside the auto pay, you have to rekey everything. don't pay by phone -they claim we gave the wrong account number and are charging us an nsf fee - can't WAIT to be done with these people. Customer service rep literally said "here's the thing..." while talking to me. So unprofessional. Supervisor was equally incompetent and unprofessional.

Frustrating Experience with Credit…

Frustrating Experience with Credit Reporting and Fraud Dispute

I am sharing my experience with Westlake Financial regarding my auto loan account (ending in 0901) for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition (VIN 1J4GW58J14C325116).
On November 2025 and again on February 13, 2026, I formally disputed this account due to documented "mileage discrepancies" and "odometer concerns". I provided supporting evidence including the vehicle title, odometer disclosure statement, purchase agreement, service records, and vehicle history reports.

I requested that Westlake pause negative credit reporting, mark the account as disputed with all credit reporting agencies, and conduct a thorough investigation.

As of February 20, 2026, I have not received a response, despite multiple follow-ups and submitting all requested documentation.

The account continues to negatively affect my credit report while it is under investigation with Experian, which has been very frustrating.

I have also filed complaints with regulatory authorities, including the CFPB, California Attorney General, and the FTC, due to the lack of timely resolution.

I am posting this review to alert other consumers about the potential delays and challenges in resolving disputes with Westlake Financial. I hope the company improves its processes and responsiveness for future customers.

Seems like a total scam. My consulting sole proprietorship gets scam emails from them with an email “ noah….. @thehyperfunder. com that references a different financial group but that name redirects to a different name promptfundingsolution dot com

Which has the same address as Noah lists on the bottom of these scam emails - the same as Westlake.

3 supposed financial groups all at the Same address.. STAY AWAY

Absolutely horrible costumer service

Absolutely horrible costumer service. They bought my car loan from a different company, disregarded the autopay I had setup for years and failed to inform me that i was late on payments due to this. Towed my car without notification and did not inform me either. I reported it as stolen as I had no idea otherwise. Will not work with you to arrange payment to make up for THEIR mistake even after being told I am 100 PERCENT disabled and on fixed income. They did not care.

Worst Company Ever

In 2019, I purchased a vehicle that was sold and financed for $15,300. I made a down payment of $1,500, leaving an estimated financed balance of $13,800. The loan term was five (5) years, with a fixed monthly payment of $548.

Over the full loan term of 60 months, I paid a total of approximately $32,880. This amount significantly exceeds the original financed balance and raises serious concerns regarding the interest rate applied, the accuracy of the loan disclosures, and whether the total cost of financing was properly explained to me at the time of purchase.

Based on the original loan terms, the account should have been paid in full by 2024. However, it is now 2026, and I am questioning whether my account was properly managed and whether I was charged amounts beyond what was contractually and legally justified. Stay away from Westlake Financial Company!!! This is the worst company ever! Use the bank instead!

Westlake is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Westlake is a company to avoid at all costs. Even after we clearly told them not to proceed, their agent went ahead and activated our account—and debited our funds without permission. This happened months after we had explicitly opted out. Charging a client without approval is unacceptable and shows they don’t care about basic ethics or professionalism.

What came after was even worse—endless delays, excuses, and flat-out refusal to refund the money they took without authorization. Their staff are irresponsible and unresponsive, and accountability is completely missing.

We strongly urge anyone to stay far away from this company to avoid unnecessary stress, financial loss, and wasted time.

This is the most difficult customer…

This is the most difficult customer support system to get in touch with ANYONE.

Try calling their service and you'll be taken into LOOPS of automations with no clear way to talk to a representative.

Specifically for their loan department. If you call their credit department to see if they can get you in touch with someone to help, they'll DENY you help because you're calling the WRONG department and mention it's "impossible" for them to connect you with an agent in another department. Lol this is ridiculous customer service! For lending money and offering credit, at least have a better human in the loop system vs these bullshit automations!

After doing some finger magic with punch numbers on the automated system I somehow thought I caught a break and got a hold of someone. Lol funny enough it was an AI ASSISTANT! You guys cracking me up. Her name was Taylor and I got quite acquainted with her until I called her out and asked directly if she's an AI and funny enough she admitted it!

After pushing forward with the AI Taylor, I got to speak with an agent. But damn, it took me a solid 25 minutes to get to that point and I consider myself someone highly technical. I can't imagine how hard it must be to reach a representative with a serious inquiry to speak to someone about an urgent matter who is elderly or non-technical.

Fix you stuff guys, this is embarrassing.

Anyone considering doing business with these people, here's your warning

Do not do business with this finance…

Do not do business with this finance company. It's one of the worst. They charge high interest rates, and if you happen to have any problems with damage to your vehicle, they will try to find any excuse not to cover the cost of the repairs. Their technicians who assess the damage are incompetent.

What went wrong THIS time?? (Funny you should ask--)

Well, if you don't mind having your auto-loan company deduct your car-payment multiple times when they are supposed to only ONCE a month (and then make up reasons why that was legit) -- then, what could possibly be wrong with that??

After my (honest) car-dealer helped me find an HONEST credit-union to which to transfer/refinance, these thieves took FOREVER to forward the Title, etc. Now, I'm working to get their no-longer-existing debt off my credit-report. If I could give Westlake Financial ZERO (0) stars or even -1, I would; but 1 star is the only option available.

I cannot report Westlake Financial to an FTC that is unavailable in this Federal Government shutdown, but I *can* warn the public: If you have ANY choice at ALL, *STAY AWAY FROM WESTLAKE FINANCIAL!!!*

I finance Westlake Financial has been nothing but problems.d a 2016 F-150 through…

I financed a 2016 F-150 through Westlake Financial Services, and I’ve had nothing but problems from the start. When I purchased the truck, I noticed it was smoking within 24 hours. I brought in a mechanic’s diagnosis, but Westlake refused to cancel my contract, saying it wasn’t the engine. Even the DMV confirmed that the vehicle wasn’t properly inspected, yet Westlake wouldn’t step in.

Fast forward to my recent payment experience: I had already set up automatic payments about six days before my due date, but the payment didn’t go through. This left me past due, which wasn’t my fault. When I called in, I spoke with a representative (I believe her name was Melenia). She told me I might receive an NSF fee because I had entered the wrong account once, even though their system wouldn’t allow me to cancel or correct the payment after it was submitted. I explained that I just wanted to cancel the payment and use another card I had on file, while leaving the automatic payment set up for next month.

Instead of calmly helping me resolve the issue, she got frustrated and matched my tone, escalating the situation further. A professional representative should have stayed calm and de-escalated. I eventually asked to speak with a manager, and was left on hold for over 10 minutes.

Overall, I feel Westlake has poor customer service, unfair practices, and doesn’t stand behind their financing agreements in a way that supports customers. Between the truck issues at the beginning and the ongoing payment problems, I cannot recommend them.

Unavailable

Impossible to reach as all phone numbers lead to a poorly designed automated system. Evidently no humans work at Westlake! Totally out of touch with their customers as it appears intended!
