Hidden import costs and a fake local UK store

I ordered a Gandalf the grey figure from the UK store on their website. The cost of the figure was £225, which normally is shipping free enough value. They still charged almost £20 as shipping costs. But I still bought it as a Xmas present. What was my surprise when I recived a call from an unknown person requesting I pay £73 in import costs (????!!!!!) and saying that the shipment is coming from the Netherlands, and giving me a shipping company name I did not recognise. I wrote to Weta inmediately, as it sounded as a scam. While waiting for a reply, I checked their website, where I could not find any FAQ page, but in the terms and conditions, in a very unclear way, it does say that customers are responsible to pay customs if there is any charge. I mean, customs and shipping and handling fee for the courier brings the price of buying this piece to over £100 on top of the selling price, which was not warned, adviced or stated at any point during the purchasing process. You are made to believe that are buying from a local store, by choosing the UK store on their website, except this is not real, and they do not explain it before you buy it. They even state that if the customre cancel the order, they charge a cancellation fee. I think this is fraud, as there are hidden costs, a misleading local shop and total missinformation and disregard for the customer. I do not recommend it at all. And will be reporting this company.
