Refused to release my car unless I paid a surprise 5,000 AED fee”

I would give 0 stars if possible.

I had a very bad experience with this company.

They first agreed on a price for my car, but when I came back the next day to finalize the sale, they cancelled the deal and offered me a lower price instead. I initially agreed to this lower price on Wednesday afternoon, but changed my mind and cancelled the deal the following morning (Thursday). When I came back to collect my car, they refused to release it unless I paid a 5,000 AED “service fee,” even though I had already returned their deposit. When I asked for details about this fee, I was not given a clear explanation.

They also refused to hand over either the car keys or the plates until I agreed to pay. When I went downstairs, the plates were taken from the office. After I again refused to pay, they wanted me to go back into the office to “discuss” it further. Only after I insisted and mentioned calling the police did they agree to settle it by asking me to cover only the RTA inspection cost.

Another point: they only confirmed via WhatsApp that they had received their deposit back after I asked them three separate times. They also repeatedly asked me to pay everything in cash, which would have left no physical proof of the transactions.

I also noticed that their office has no visible cameras and uses frosted glass, which means there is no clear proof of what is said, agreed, or of transactions taking place inside.

At no point was the service fee mentioned or agreed beforehand. Based on my experience, I strongly suggest keeping all communication and transactions with them documented in writing.

This was my personal experience — your experience may be different.
