Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 250 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported that their appliances, including washers, stoves, refrigerators, and microwaves, stopped working or malfunctioned shortly after purchase, some within months or a few years. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with product quality, such as a washer tank rusting, a dryer stopping after 10 minutes, or a refrigerator light failing prematurely, indicating a lack of durability. The customer service was widely criticized for long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and an inability to resolve problems, often leading to frustration and repeated calls without resolution. Many also expressed dissatisfaction with the warranty process, finding that advertised 10-year warranties did not cover critical parts or that service providers were unwilling to honor them, leading to significant repair costs. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that despite initial damage, their issue was eventually resolved with a replacement and follow-up, suggesting some positive outcomes in specific cases.

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. Took a month for them to respond that they needed more information. Then their Direct Rep, Dakota Dobbs told me to change my tone in an email disrespectfully when it took two months to tell me to call someone else. I will make sure to never buy their products again.

Bought Whirlpool, Never again !

We just ordered and had delivered on February 18th, 4 brand new appliances , including the refrigerator microwave , stove and dishwasher. Upon installing the stove , we discovered the next morning that there was a gas smell inside of the oven. If anyone buys products from Whirlpool, we bought them through home depot. If you do not report the problem within 48 hours , you're at their mercy ! I tried to do my due diligence and make sure it wasn't an installation issue and reached out to home depot on that Saturday , which was three days after we got the appliances only to be told , contact whirlpool , they'll make it a quick repair and you'll be good. Wrong, it took 10 days to get a service tech out to the house upon Inspecting the stove , he discovered the gas valve was not staying closed and was allowing gas to come into the stove. So he explained that it's going to be at least a week or longer for parts and may take another week to schedule the repair. So I have a brand new stove that's never been used.I'm having to wait anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to get the part and have it fixed. I asked if they could just replace it, and of course, I was told under the warranty Sir, we have to repair it, even though it's a brand new stove, we can't replace it. Honestly, don't buy Whirlpool ! Their customer service is not empathetic , and they're really don't care about you as a consumer. what's left to say? I will never buy a whirlpool appliance ever again !

refrigerator problems in less than 3…

Contact person: Patrick Turner
refrigerator problems in less than 3 weeks. Bad sensor, ruined not only food, but also 2 very expensive prescriptions. Patrick calls from Whirlpool offering apologies and a replacement which causes more work and yet another poor quality product. I would rather have an extended warranty at no charge, I'm sure I'll need it.

I used to love whirlpool!

I used to love whirlpool, and now I will never purchase another one!!! This has been the most horrible experience and the worst washer that I’ve ever had and your customer service is even worse!!! Delivery date 1/29 need for service 2/10 it’s now 3/2 and still not fixed and they can’t tell me anything except, we don’t have the part. It’s on backorder. We don’t know when we’re going to get it. We can’t give you a new one. We won’t pay for your laundry bills!!

Dangerous Range Install

Recently ordered an electric range and had paid for the delivery/install. The guys showed up and after seeing had no tools realized the federally mandated anti-tip bracket couldn't be installed. When I asked them the guys spoke no English and couldn't read the first page of the manual that shows it as a danger leading to severe injury, possibly worse. They had to leave while I was holding for customer service and am still dealing with it. My parents Whirlpool delivered a year ago is missing it as well and my Mom says it almost tipped a few months back, didn't know why. Sears had to pay out over $500 million for this exact problem 20 years ago. For you and your families sake, please check under your range and contact your state's Attorney General as we were told to do.

Worst Customer Service

Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. I've been going back and forth with them for a month now, with still no resolution on how to fix my washer. A different representative tells me different things and they aren't documenting our conversations, so when I speak to another rep, they don't have any notes to go from...they say there is no management to speak with and they cannot transfer me to anyone else. Do not buy their appliances, and if you do, you better purchase the extended warranty plans!

I brought a washer from Whirlpool…

I brought a washer from Whirlpool 4/19/24. I only use it once or twice a month and this month, it started making grinding noises when off and no laundry in it. Googling the problems shows this is very common with Whirlpool washers and they will not fix unless I buy an extended warranty or pay for a service call which would cost same as new washer. Extremely poor quality.

Can you provide an option for a ZERO

Can you provide an option for a ZERO? I cannot get through to anything but an automated system loop that results in disconnection before ever reaching a place to discuss my request. Finally, I followed the prompts for a call back. It too resulted in a disconnection. I just wanted to return an item. The number on my confirmation email does not match the format on the web-form. The whole process feels like I have been caught up in some SCAM and have had my money stolen. After getting online, I see that I am not alone.

Service is Much too Slow

Although the first two people I spoke to regarding maintenance on my range were gracious, neither could help, and the second person transferred me to yet a third person. My phone saysI have been on this call for 16 minutes and counting. I am still on hold. After this range expires, I will search for a replacement through another company. This is not the first time I've waited so long that I've needed to hang up and get on with my day. Very poor service.

purchased a **Maytag MVW7230HW0 washer…

purchased a **Maytag MVW7230HW0 washer in July 2023 for approximately $879 plus Shipping and Installing fees. The machine is not even three years old. It is already deteriorating. The painted rim around the washer opening is peeling and rusting. This is not misuse. It is paint failure and visible corrosion on a nearly new appliance.

In addition, the washer produces a loud, sustained squealing noise during the spin cycle. It still completes cycles, but the noise is persistent and concerning for a unit barely two and a half years old.

When I contacted customer service, I was offered a $35/month maintenance subscription instead of meaningful assistance. When I declined and asked for service pricing, I was quoted:

• $175 just for a technician to come out
• $275 per hour for labor
• Plus parts

I was also told there is no remedy for the rust and that I would simply have to live with it because the machine is outside the one-year warranty.

For a washer under three years old and marketed as durable, this level of early corrosion and mechanical noise is unacceptable. Customers should not be expected to pay hundreds of dollars to diagnose premature issues on a $879 appliance.

This is not normal wear. It is premature deterioration combined with indifference to quality concerns.

Buyers should be aware.

Whirpool appliances are subpar do not purchase

In November 2025, I purchased a Kitchenaid double wall oven from Lowe’s and it was installed -from the moment of installation. My oven would not work properly. Wouldn’t not heat above 140° .
I contacted whirlpool to do the repair. A repair was set up on the day of repair The whirlpool authorized repair man left a message on my phone stating that he didn’t know why whirlpool sent him out he can’t do that. He’s only one guy I gotta contact Whirlpool
I contacted whirpool. They were another 2 to 3 weeks out for repair. This was the week of Thanksgiving. I had 25 to 30 people coming. I was in a panic. I contacted a local repairman who overnighted the part and repaired it when I contacted Whirpool. They voided all my warranty even though they never repaired it in the very first place and I still have issues that need repaired on my oven. The hinges are bad. There’s something wrong with the interior skin. I have contacted whirlpool Customer Service at least six or eight times had repairs scheduled and then whirlpool denies a warranty repair. This is completely ridiculous and unacceptable. Whirlpool stated to me that if I had an authorized repair to replace the part that was put in, they would re-reinstate my warranty. They won’t do it now this has become a joke and a nightmare. Their customer service warranty work is absolutely ridiculous. I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance nor will I purchase a whirlpool appliance. I am a commercial developer -I develop apartments, hotels, and housing additions. I’ve only use whirlpool in one building and I will never use them again. I should have known better. I will stick with Samsung and LG and the higher end appliances wolf and subzero.
If I could’ve left zero stars, I would have because of poor Customer Service.

Will never purchase whirlpool appliance again

We purchased a Whirlpool WTW6157PB washer and dryer set from Lowe’s and had it professionally delivered and installed on January 16, 2026. We paid $2,000 cash for a brand-new appliance set.
Within two weeks, the washer began malfunctioning. Lowe’s directed us to Whirlpool for service. Whirlpool scheduled a technician with an 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. window, requiring us to wait home all day and miss work. The technician arrived at 2:30 p.m. without prior notice, confirmed there was an issue, and ordered a replacement part that is currently on backorder with no confirmed arrival date.
After the service visit, the washer is now completely nonfunctional.
We are potentially facing weeks without a working washer on a brand-new appliance. This has been extremely disappointing and frustrating given the cost and how recently it was purchased.
We have now been scheduled for another full-day service window, requiring us to wait at home again in hopes that our brand-new washer can be repaired. It is extremely frustrating to lose additional work time for repeat service visits on an appliance that is only weeks old.
We have 9 properties that we furnish and rent, and I will NEVER buy whirlpool again.
