I’m a first time buyer in the Single malt Whiskey investment process.

Whisky as invest is completly new for me and I currently own only one cask, but consider momentarily to buy another one.

With the recent adverse publicity that whisky cask investment has been suffering, I was somewhat relieved to find that my diving in with both feet, as I did, into investing in a 12yr old Aberlour turned out to be a very pleasant experience.
I was first contacted by Whisky Investment UK following my clicking a Facebook advert, so I really was ripe for a scam! Since then I can report that I have received my, all important, 'Delivery Order' document, and, not only that, I have also been able to visit my very own cask, with my name on it, at the bonded warehouse. Furthermore, I actually saw my 20ml sample being poured, and took it, together with three 70ml bottles of the amber nectar, away with me too. That is not the whole story either, because I had always thought that those casks set aside by the distilleries for selling off would have been those which they considered had the least potential. I now have a different view, because the quality of the dram I found in my samples was far and away better than I expected. Mixed with a little water, to bring the 63% abv down a little, this whisky is easily as good as any I have bought over the counter, and truly an exceptional dram.
My experience with WIUK has been a singularly positive one, from first contact with the team, through receipt of confirmation paperwork, to actually tasting the contents.
If you're considering whisky investment, and you, like me, want to taste your investment too, then I definitely recommend using WIUK

Darren helped me to buy my 1st cask through WIUK in 2022 and ever since, I've had a great experience with WIUK and continue to do so as far as communications and administration is concerned.

I cannot yet comment on investment returns, price points and exit strategies, but I trust I will continue to have a great experience working with WIUK on ensuring that my cask is well looked after, and advice on when and how to exit to maximize return.

I received the latest cask list from Darren, He contacted me and talked through a range of options regarding purchasing. Darren guided me through the process from start to finish. Darren and Carmen were very knowledgeable and professional throughout the journey. They were always available to answer any questions. I will be purchasing more casks through them, and I highly recommend them.

We invested some inherited money in a bid to make finance more interesting. The contact we have had with WI has always been excellent, whether it’s checking on progress, or asking questions. I would highly recommend this company: totally transparent.

Given the recent media focus on the whisky industry and that companies are giving these certificates instead of delivery orders, I contacted WIUK with regards to seeing about transferring my barrels to a private bonded warehouse as I am one of those who has a certificate rather than a delivery order with only trust that my barrels actually exist. I was very pleased to speak with Darren who luckily assured me that the company I purchased my barrels through was reputable and how to go about transferring ownership so that I could get my delivery order and referring me for a private account so that I can have full control of my investment. I was really pleased with Darren's knowledge of the whisky industry and welcoming approach, I wish I had of contacted them before I made my original purchase to the other company. But many thanks for referring me to the private bonded warehouse, it is appreciated and if the chance arises to make further investments I will certainly give WIUK a call.

I had an excellent experience with WIUK over the past two years. After purchasing a cask through them, I was thrilled to see its value increase by almost 20%, even after factoring in storage and insurance costs. I had thought for a while about purchasing a cask of whisky, i got in touch with Darren who was extremely helpful,informative and led me through the process, which was very straightforward ( as someone else on trust pilot said, had i known it was so easy i’d have done it sooner)

Initially, Darren talked me through the whole process from my first enquiry to the purchase of my cask. Both Darren and Carmen are in contact via email or a phonecall to guide me and help put my mind at ease.

My experience with WIUK has been positive from start to finish. Darren walked me through my options, was professional and non-pushy in his approach. I bought the cask in 2022 with longevity in mind however decided to liquidate the cask in December 2024 (for a new kitchen). Darren found a buyer within 2 weeks, with the selling process taking 3 working weeks (Christmas was in between) The returns I made were 21% in 2 years which exceeded that of most conventional savings/investments. I plan to use WIUK again in the near future.

Their professionalism is exemplary. I purchased my first cask near the end of 2023, and the following year I was thrilled to arrange a visit to see what I had purchased, and look forward to doing the same with the next one.

Darren at Whisky Investments UK was most helpful in explaining the way cask investment works , his insight and explanations were clear. His recommendations fitted my budget and time scales. He was at no time pushing for or chasing a sale and I was made comfortable about taking my time. Although the cask market seems to move very swiftly when new stock becomes available.
If I need to expand my portfolio in the future I will take to Darren.

From the day I received a wonderful surprise birthday gift of a cask of one of my favourite malts from my wife, I can not speak highly enough about this company.
The first day my wife contacted them regarding the purchase, she explained it was to be a surprise. And although there was plenty of admin to be done by the owner, (Me).. they worked superbly to keep the surprise a surprise until my Birthday.
