While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Very disappointing – Who.is is not the service it used to be

I used to rely on Who.is back when they were focused on providing domain lookup and support for domainers. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill.

Now they mainly do advertising in cooperation with ClarityCheck and similar third parties, which makes the platform cluttered and unhelpful. What’s worse, there is practically no support for domainers anymore – which was supposed to be their core business from the start.

If you’re looking for reliable WHOIS information or professional support, I can no longer recommend this service. There are better, more transparent, and domain-focused alternatives out there.

Something fishy on this site.

I used to use it quite often, but apparently they have some kind of fishy way of earning money if they say that unregistered domain is “is registered. Interested in buying it? Make an Offer”.
Other sites information is not up to date, even though registered months ago.

Now I found out that my domain services provider has its own WHOIS service which shows correct data.
