Wild Idea Buffalo is unlike any other meat company. We began with a vision of actually improving the eco-system of the Great Plains. Our buffalo are raised on the wide open spaces of South Dakota where they eat only the native grasses beneath their feet. They spend their whole lives roaming freely on thousands of acres, and never see a feedlot or slaughterhouse. The result is better lives for the bison, the restoration of over 100,000 acres of the prairie, and sweet, delicious red meat that is actually good for you. Not such a wild idea after all!

5.0 Service and Products
Awesome company and great customer service. Had a shipping problem and Phil addressed in an outstanding manner.
Top notch products and selection.
Let me be VERY clear
Let me be VERY clear. We have LOVED [most] everything we have received from Wild Idea and fully intend to continue to order.
However, I removed a star due to the fact that Wild Idea unfortunately still uses pork casings for their brats and beef casings for their jerky sticks.
The entire reason for us researching and deciding to purchase from Wild Idea is to to avoid supporting inhumane and unsustainable farming practices. When I contacted Wild Idea they were VERY prompt and responsive. They assured me that all of the casings they use are organic. Unfortunately, organic does not necessarily assure humane or sustainable farming practices. I find this contradictory.
We will continue to order and support, just not the brats or jerky sticks.

Huge fan ❣️
I have been ordering from this wonderful company for a couple of years now. I love everything about them. Their product , their methods , the quality and their fabulous customer service
Anything you need and they call you right back.
It's the healthiest red meat. The filets cook in seconds and require garlic butter because they are so free of fat !
Ok. I admit. I'm a huge fan

Very Satisfied Customer

What we have tried of our order has been quite good with the exception of the sausage. It had way too much fat and we did not find it at all tasty. Sadly I ended up throwing an unused portion of it away. The sausage was a waste of money. I would not recommend it.
As for the other cuts, so far so good.
Let the customer do the trimming.
Great tasting meat but, the prime rib I received had the lip removed and all the fat was trimed off, that was not in the description.
I love this concept and and the product from top to bottom.
I hate factory farms. The idea of eating meat from animals that live lives of suffering and fear had made me a vegetarian for years. Not only is this cruelty, it's also very unhealthy food to ingest. Health reasons caused me to transition back to meat. I have a deep respect and reverence for all life so if I'm going to eat meat, I want to eat meat from animals that live happy, healthy lives. Animals that graze on the grasses they are supposed to be eating and roaming around in the sun. I also don't really believe much of the heresy on food labels that say "organic" or "grass fed" as I am well aware of the wobbly standards in the food industry.
Wild Idea is a company who believes in the values of healthy, happy, free roaming, sustainableI agriculture. They create their own standards based on these values which go far above beyond the industry standards for "certified organic".
I was so impressed with their customer service, website, videos of the herd running in the pastures. They take great pride in what they do and it shows in every aspect of their company.
the meat is expensive as it should be. It arrives very quickly and frozen. It tastes great and I can sleep at night knowing I'm supporting a true free roaming, sustainable way of farming
First taste of buffalo

Killer Southwest Buffalo Meatloaf
The Ribeye and Porterhouse steaks were superb as usual. The wonderful surprise was the meatloaf!! Seasoning was perfect with just enough heat to get one's attention. The texture and flavor; well please keep this product available!! Preparation instructions were spot on...a "Gold Star" winner 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
Delish buffalo!! The salami is amazing too!
Ribs need to be braised till tender, like all buffalo. Excellent quality and taste, and the salami is one of the best I have ever had.
Great Product
We've eaten Wild Idea Buffalo for years, great product, great story. If you order this Buffalo, anything else you try will pale to it's taste and flavor. While you are at it order Dan's book on his change over from a cattle operation to buffalo, it is an incredible story!
Best is yet to come - the eating!
This was my first experience with Wild Idea and based upon performance and quality of the product it won't be the last!
Quality !
Short story...LOVED IT ! Buffalo peppered tenderloin tips...tasty filet... working on the rest... Quality product !
Best Buffalo Meat Around
I have tried three other ground buffalo meats (one was bought from a different company on line, the other a store bought pre packaged name and the third store bought unknown name already ground). To me none of the other three were as lean or taste as good as Wild Idea. When Wild Idea say their ground is 95% lean I believe it. I cooked a pound to put in spaghetti sauce. When I drained off the fat off and weighed the remaining ground and it weighed at 14.7 ounces.
Wonderful!
The only red meat we eat regularly at home now is from Wild Idea.
Thank you.
