Do not go to Wilkins in Waterloo for service

Do not go to Wilkins in Waterloo for service! Terrible communication, took forever to get parts and when I called a sister store they told me the part was in inventory and could have it overnight! My generator still doesn't work after spending hundreds to get repaired!!

**Extremely Disappointed with Wilkins…

**Extremely Disappointed with Wilkins RV**

We purchased a *brand new* 2024 Flagstaff from Wilkins RV with high hopes, but unfortunately, it has spent more time in their service department than at our home. We've made just 10 payments on it and only managed to take it on 3 trips — the rest of the time, it's been in the shop.

Right from the start, we've had major issues: the slide toppers, the fireplace, the slide-out, and now — to make matters worse — what appears to be **water damage from the roof**. Despite these ongoing problems, the Bath, NY service department has been unhelpful and incredibly frustrating to work with. One woman in particular was *extremely rude* when we tried to explain the repeated and unresolved issues.

We trusted Wilkins RV to sell us a quality camper, but it’s clear we were sold a lemon. Worse, they refuse to stand behind the product or work with us to reach a resolution. The fireplace issue — supposedly fixed — has returned, and now we're facing structural concerns with the roof. Once again, the RV is sitting at their shop instead of being enjoyed by us.

Bottom line: **Wilkins RV sold us a damaged RV and has done nothing to make it right.** I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable camper or a dealership that cares about their customers after the sale.

Demo of brand new unit

Went to pick up new unit and during demo
We found a couple of issues. Mainly 1 awning did not work. Service tech then explained that he had to fix other electrical issues that the service department failed to tell us. He said it was a lot of removing panels. After waiting in the parking lot for 1 hr,no one came out except for the finance girl(seriously?)
We then went in and asked for our old title and keys and left. No one cared!!!
Not sure of status as we write this

Lazy Slugs!

I went into the new dealership in Waterloo to try and order replacement parts for my 5th wheel that was purchased from them new. Talked to the parts guy who had trouble finding what I asked about. I had done research on the Grand Design website and had part numbers available for him. He then located the parts and told me one was out of stock but had pricing on both minus shipping. I asked him if he could call and get information on if and when it might be in stock as well as the cost of shipping. He said I'll take your name and number and call you..... still waiting??? I then went to the front entry counter and asked if it was OK to go out and check out the new rv's. She said sure but they are all locked. She never offered to have a sales person go out with us!! So... we looked at a few in the showroom, again , sales people sitting in their offices doing nothing completely ignored us!!
I'll be sure to never do business again with these lazy slugs!! What a poor way to do business!!

Don’t trust them.

I have multiple bad experiences with Wilkin RV service…nightmares really. The most recent is on the awning recall their letter wanted me to take it back to where I purchased the RV. Despite my asking that it would be done on the scheduled visit all they did was take photos. I drove 13 hours and 800 miles costing $245 for photos and still have a potentially dangerous situation.

No use

I was trying to get my damaged awning fixed by anyone. I thought I was tying to give them business. I guess they don't need business. My awning was damaged by a heavy rainstorm and and will not go in. I am frantic it will get worse. The person I have been talking to all week was told by her boss that they couldn't help me because I didn't buy my camper through them, they had to leave appointments available for people who were there customer's. I thought I was trying to be a customer. It is an insurance claim not a warrenty issue. My insurance company said this is easiest claim. I am finding it not,and not because of my insurance company. Well I guess they don't want my business ever. I do not blame the person I talked to all week.

"I would give Wilken's RV no stars but…

"I would give Wilken's RV no stars but that is not an..." - lon.fluegel
I would give Wilken's RV no stars but that is not an option. I purchased a Wulf Pup 17JG in late January of this year. I attempted to take delivery on March 26th. After the connections were made to my tow vehicle and the brakes were tested I left. A mile down I86 I was flagged down by a trucker. When I pulled over the brakes were smoking on both wheels. I called the dealership and the tech. was dispatched to my location. He assured me that what happened was "normal". He tried to convince me that I could make it another 50 miles home if he just adjusted the brake controller. I refused. To begin with I was sold too much RV for my tow vehicle. And this was a concern that I had going into the sale. Long story shorter I went out and bought a bigger tow vehicle that is rated at 7700lbs instead of 5000lbs. I came back to get the Wulf Pup on April 14th and was assured the brakes were fixed. This time after connecting up the truck the slide would not go out. One side would start to go out and the other would not. I was initially told by my sales guy Craig that it was just out of adjustment and service would fix it. After the service guy tore half the slide apart he said it was either a bad motor from the factory or a rubber piece that was missing. Either way 1-4 weeks to fix it. I talked to the General Manager, Jason, and said I wanted my money back. He refused. I wanted to upgrade then to a different camper. The only thing that they had was a new unit that did not fit my budget. I went to Meyer's RV and gave them my sad story. They treated me with respect and concern. I purchased a used 2019 RV from them and they gave me a decent amount of trade for my never ever used "used" RV. Today (April 15th) I came to pick up my Wulf Pup from Wilken's. It was 38 degrees outside and raining. No one came out to assist me or wish me well or anything. I will NEVER shop another Wilken's RV store and will share my story with any interested party that will listen. It is going on my blog, yelp, google reviews and anywhere else I can post it.
