Horrendous service from start to finish with Wilson and Co Bolton. My lease vehicle was in with them for a service in March, and it was identified that it needed a new welt belt. No one could confirm if I could or could not drive the car, but the car felt horrendous to drive, and as I drive over 100 miles a day I didn’t have faith the wet belt wasn’t going to snap.
When agreeing to perform the repairs under warranty, I was told it may be 6 months for the parts to arrive. Luckily they arrived much sooner, but then you could not make an appointment until May. You told me the work would take 2 days, still wouldn’t confirm if it was safe to drive the car, but told me I could have a courtesy car at the cost of £15 a day for the 2 days it would be in the garage. You could only provide electric cars, with no capability to charge at home, and with the amount of mileage I cover this would not work for me.
I contacted my lease company who managed to source me a courtesy car via enterprise as their team confirmed it was UNSAFE for me to be driving when the wet belt was cracked and the car went in for repair on 6th May. “2 days” turned into a week, which turned into 2 weeks, and so it continued. I rang constantly, for the phone either to never be answered, be left on hold for long periods of time, to be promised call backs that NEVER came, and each day be told my car would be ready for the next day (which also never happened).
You had my vehicle for just over 4 weeks in total. You never told me what work was ACTUALLY done, just handed me my keys and that was that. Apparently the car was cleaned - not the case either.
I understand that it may have turned into a bigger job than expected and that wasn’t an issue, but your lack of communication is horrific. If it’s not ready it’s not ready, don’t lie and say it will be when you know it won’t be.
Now, my clutch is in a state that it wasn’t in before. Stiff and heavy, no bite point, and fighting to drive it. You seem to cause more damage than fixing anything.
You can’t even stamp a service book, so I’m not sure why I expected you to be competent with this either. The worst of the whole experience is not a single person in the Bolton branch cares.

I purchased a VW Golf from Wilson & Co Grimsby in March 2025 and the experience has been nothing short of disgraceful.
The car was falsely advertised as “pristine” by sales manager Bailey, but when I received it, it had obvious swirl marks, scratches and stone chips to the bonnet, and cosmetic issues that had clearly been neglected. I was promised — both verbally and in writing — a full bonnet respray and touch up repairs to all panels required. Despite the car being booked in for this work, it was rushed out unfinished, and the visible defects remained.
Worse still, I was misled by the Sales Manager, Bailey, who admitted in a message that the car was rushed to meet sales targets, and then later denied it. When I raised this with the dealership, I was met with total indifference and arrogance.
As a 19-year-old customer, I was treated with complete disrespect throughout. It was clear they thought they could fob me off and that I wouldn’t stand up for myself — which makes this even more disappointing. Rather than honouring their promises, sales managers Mark and Ryan tried to intimidate me, even threatening to cancel the insurance on the courtesy car while the dispute was ongoing. That’s coercive and unacceptable.
To make it worse, I purchased the car through a distance sale, paid upfront without even seeing it in person, based entirely on their assurances — which were clearly false.
I'm now fully prepared to take this to the Motor Ombudsman, Trading Standards, and pursue any necessary legal channels under my rights as a consumer.
If you’re a young buyer, or just expect honesty and professionalism, avoid Wilson & Co Grimsby at all costs.

Took my car to be serviced and a couple of repairs and was told I could wait. The service and extra repairs ended up taking two days (which I suppose is fair enough, they needed to get parts etc) but after two days and emptying my bank account they haven’t fixed the thing I asked for them to fix TWICE! Absolute joke.

Avoid the Bolton Vauxhall Branch.
In fact avoid all together.
2 cars were offered to us and and then were either already sold or then sold despite us having a meeting to come and buy it.
They called me to say it was a special deal after the hassle of being offered a sold car last time.
I took time out of work as did my husband to go and buy the car to be told rather bluntly by the advisor she had sold it the day before. I have since put in a complaint following their complaints procedure it says they will respond in 48 hours… this was weeks ago.
Very helpful staff, friendly and professional with no high pressure sales tactics. They made trading in my old car and picking up the new one as easy as it could be. Car was very well presented.
Matthew was my initial contact, he offered to get the keys for me to view inside the car, he then offered me a test drive. I went back with my partner the following day so he could view the vehicle. Matthew was polite and went though everything with me. I opted to take out the service plan with them. I was happy with the service received and would recommend this dealer
Brilliant service, all staff very welcoming
Fab communication between myself and Tom
Tom was very friendly and easy going which made the process of purchasing a new car enjoyable
Thank you so much
Excellent service as always from Raggi and the team, goes above and beyond to help customers.

STAY AWAY- Purchased car, eml light came on 3rd day in. They provided the worst customer service I have experienced when I took it back to be looked at, said it would be 1 hour I was there over 5, cost me a days wage and all they did was clear the code not solve the issue. Light came back on a few days later. They have accepted they need to take the car back and give me a refund but have still not processed the refund despite have the car back, over 2 weeks since I informed them of their statutory obligation (which they were not aware of)

Purchased a vehicle 10 months ago with the understanding and advertising of it having dab digital radio, satnav and full service history. The vehicle was delivered to me approximately 3 hours away by the garage and day one. It has had problems. The 4x4 function has got worked properly the whole time. The garage have tried to repair it on seven occasions now and still it is faulty. The repair they have told me is a new gearbox which they are refusing to cover. I do have a warranty with warranty wise who I was hoping would pay for the repair. However, they have confirmed that Wilson and co Bolton service history on the vehicle. Because of this all warranty is void. The garage have been incompetent so far in trying to resolve this matter. I have now picked up the vehicle from them and taking it to another garage to be repaired as I cannot trust them anymore. A lawsuit against Wilson and co. Went in last night. I'm sure this is hopefully a one-off situation with this garage, however beware and do your full research on any vehicles you purchase from them. I'll also no engine light on when they took the vehicle back for their last repair and I just picked it up with the engine light on. God knows what they've done.
Terrible company would never buy a car from them again they sold me a car in 2023 I have had nothing but issues with it.
The service team are unprofessional and rude not helpful at all when trying to escalate a complaint above managers in the branch I face a brick wall as they don’t want to help.

Sunday 9 February 2025 I booked appointment with Gamze and she was so helpful and very understanding what kind of car I was looking for. Picked up my new car tonight and couldn’t fault her sales and patience. I would recommend booking to see Gamze. Thank you and love my car

Worst experience I've ever had, rude staff. I heard 1 memeber off staff being shouted at by someone and they're more interested in talking to each other rather than trying to sell you a car. Poor choice of cars too (some were dirty, damaged and some had flat tyres, prices didnt match the internet). Shambles!!!!! Won't be returning.

These people are just rude with no empathy and respect whatsoever. They should be stroke off and cease to exist as a Company. UPDATE: They say with 27 years of reputable experience, they are strong. However, it seems that after a while of my review, this company has gone bost

Scam company who miss sell cars to customer's. Management is shocking / disrespectful and should be sacked for the way they deal with customers who spent lots of money with them.
Stay very clear of them at Bolton! Be warned.
