Had a lovely experience with excellent staff. I believe that this camp has truly helped me improve my grades in a short period.
winchmore was very helpful for the subjects and areas i struggled in and i would definetly recomend it to anyone who struggles to revise a difficult subject
Winchmore camps offered a good selection of courses in various locations. My son, who will be taking his GCSE’s this summer, took a science and English course over the Easter holidays. He said science... See more

GCSE revision courses
My son attended 3 of the GCSE revision courses over Easter. He found them incredibly useful and the marks on his practice papers have improved significantly since. He said the course was fast paced but that enabled them to cover a wide variety of topics all of which had been requested by the pupils attending the course.

My son found these sessions very beneficial and the tutors helpful. The size of the class meant that unlike in school, he had one on one time with the teacher to discuss what parts he found confusing.

Very convenient, location wise for us. My son enjoyed the course and it has really helped him - learning the subjects in a small group, learning how to revise and tips for the exams.
I haven't given a 5 stars because the admin side of things wasn't always straight forward - responses to emails were a bit slow. Not a big problem. All in all I would recommend these courses.

A great concept, but could do with some fine tuning
My son feels that it really did depend on which group you were in as to the quality of teaching. He felt that that he definitely got most from the math class - his teacher was excellent. However the biology teacher was a little disappointing. Physics and chemistry were fine.
Considering how much we paid I was disappointed that the classes finished early on several days, one day it was nearly an hour early.
Considering how much information we were asked for, I was slightly disappointed that it appears that all of the students were taught the same, regardless of what the target areas/topics were.
It did however, give my son some structured revision, which he appreciated, and helped him with some key areas.

English and Science days
My daughter took part in the English and science days.
Unfortunately, she found the English day wasnt very helpful. The teacher was unclear and confusing. She felt her time would have been better spend at home revising.
On the other hand she enjoyed both of the Science days. The teachers were strong and lead the lessons well. She felt the revision on the two science days was worth the money we had spent.

A mixed review
My son wasn’t happy with the English course. The general consensus amongst his friends was the same. Teacher wasn’t engaging.
However the maths course was more of a success. My son said it was enjoyable and the teacher was really nice.

Based on feedback from my son and the results of the evaluations, both before and after the revision days, I would say the revision camps were definitely of value. However, the value did seem to differ from day to day, with the English revision day resulting in no improvement and interestingly no feedback from Winchmore. The Maths & Science revision days did however result in a substantial improvement in the marks my son achieved in the evaluations, and I did get some feedback concerning the areas he did well, and the areas he needs to practice more, and therefore I would say it was definitely worthwhile overall, although we wont really know for sure until we get GCSE results!!

Highly recommend
My daughter has been to Winchmore camps 4 times already. She feels that she is gaining knowledge each time and confidence is increasing. I don't ever "make" her go to Winchmore camps, she wants to go.
