WINDOWS TRADE PLUS - POOR QUALITY

WARNING to fellow consumers.

I have a fair amount of experience in the building trade, windows included having been lucky enough to property develop.

I purchased x2 sets of bay windows in a specific Colour (Pebble Grey), back in July 2025 for a refurb, but also building a new house at the same time.
Admittedly the bay windows sat in storage for about 9 months before fitting whilst we concentrated on new build.
Experienced fitter I've used for years installed bay windows on refurb April 2026, it was only when we pulled off the protected tape that the incredibly poor joints were revealed.
Wrong colour used, joints didn't line up, visually very poor and scruffy.

Approached Gary at "WINDOWS TRADE PLUS" of whom made every excuse possible to defend without first recognising the issue, offering a sincere apology, i then get a copy and paste of their policy and reiterating that all window components need to be inspected and to advise them within 2 working days for refund / repair.
My issue is they absolutely failed on quality control, the windows should never have been allowed to pass and then sent to customer, it should NOT be on the customer to perform their quality control!
I pressed Gary on a solution and was told they were doing me a favour by sending a touch up pen at their cost. The wrong colour pen turns up, which was the same colour they used when messing up the windows in the first place. The correct colour pen was sent albeit looked like one just laying around in factory.
I then pressed them about the misaligned joints to which a response along the lines of any decent window fitter should be able cut and shape the joints....Ive never heard of UPVC windows that would need joints shaping when installing....have you!?

Window fitter spent hours with a razor blade and pen to make it as best we could albeit still not good "Gary in customer services said it should have taken no more than 15 to 20mins "fitter that obviously isn't up to par" was quoted...!! Shocking customer service Gary.

So very glad that I didn't go ahead and have them supply windows for new build!!
Thankfully new Windows from Quick Slide arrived with perfect joints and are of excellent quality vs the poor ones from WINDOWS TRADE PLUS, Coventry.
