Unfit for consumption beef

I am writing to lodge a complaint regarding a purchase made at your Birmingham branch on Tuesday, 04/08/2026, as well as the unacceptable customer service I subsequently received.
On the date mentioned, I purchased two packs of beef (weighing 1.5 kg in total). Upon arriving home to prepare lunch, I immediately noticed a foul smell coming from the meat. Despite the product having five days remaining before its expiry date, it was clearly spoiled and unfit for consumption.
I drove 8 miles back to the store to request either a replacement or a refund. I explained the situation to a member of your team, who inspected the meat and explicitly agreed that it smelled bad and was inedible.
However, despite staff confirming the product was spoiled, my request for a refund or exchange was strictly refused. I was informed that Wing Yip does not offer a return service under its policy. To make matters worse:
The store manager refused to speak with me directly, leaving a junior staff member to handle the situation.
I was merely handed a physical complaint form and told to wait for a call regarding a decision.
I ultimately left the store empty-handed and thoroughly frustrated—without usable meat and without a refund.
This issue is not just about the monetary value of the beef, but about basic consumer rights and the unacceptable manner in which I was treated. Selling spoiled food is a serious quality and safety concern, and refusing an immediate refund for confirmed spoiled goods is completely unreasonable.
Requested Action:
A full refund for the ruined beef packs.
Reimbursement or acknowledgment of the unnecessary trip made due to selling faulty goods.
