Opened a new account, provided all documents, waited 24hrs and received email all verified and all features unlocked however could not transfer money back to my account. had changed my ££s to crypto and bought WXT coins, please avoid this shit coin as it would not let me exchange to any other crypto unless i met the minimum exchange value which was about another £150 for me to purchase -- scammers! avoid - emailed 4 times over the last 24hrs not a single reply!!!! However, this is now the third time Wirex replies on Trustpilot stating that “an agent will contact you shortly”, and no one has contacted me at all since my last email on 25 November.
My case is not “complex”, the issue is extremely simple:
Wirex deducted 100% of my balance 2 days before the written deadline you officially provided on 10 November.
This point has still never been addressed in any of your replies.
Your public messages acknowledge my review but do not provide any real follow-up, action, or explanation. I keep receiving generic responses, and meanwhile the unlawful deduction remains unresolved.
I will continue updating this review until an agent actually reaches out and provides a concrete solution.

Wirex publicly replied to my previous review saying that an agent would contact me shortly. Ten days have passed and I have received no email, no update, and no explanation.
My case concerns a full balance deduction that was applied two days before the written deadline Wirex themselves provided in an email dated 10 November. This point has still not been addressed by any Wirex agent.
This matter has now been escalated to ACPR (France) and FIN-NET / ABF (Italy). I am posting again because Wirex only seems to react when a new review is published.
I will continue to document the lack of response for the regulators handling my case. I expect a genuine human response, not automated messages.

Wirex avait indiqué publiquement qu’un agent me contacterait rapidement. Dix jours ont passé et je n’ai reçu aucun email, aucune mise à jour et aucune explication.
Mon dossier concerne un prélèvement intégral effectué deux jours avant le délai écrit que Wirex m’a confirmé le 10 novembre. Ce point n’a jamais été traité par aucun agent.
L’affaire a désormais été transmise à l’ACPR (France) et au réseau FIN-NET / ABF (Italie). Je reposte parce que Wirex ne semble réagir que lorsqu’un nouvel avis est publié.
Je continuerai de documenter l’absence de réponse pour les autorités saisies. J’attends une réponse humaine et sérieuse, et non des messages automatiques.

Thought I'd try Wirex as a means to store some crypto assets. Weary I wanted to test this starting with around £250. I quite easily transferred this into my new Wirex account via Litecoin, then changed this to GBP. In order to transfer this out you need to verify your account - understandable. I did this first with my driving license with no issues. Then it asks to verify my address, which I have tried multiple times but it thinks for a while and then says complete and puts me back at the start asking for verification.
I have tried contacting support in-app and on their website - the webpage for support does not seem to exist and the website chat function says offline? Help and support pages on their website return a 'page not found' error.
So currently, I'm stuck with around 250GBP in my account, unable to move it, exchange it, transfer it out or contact anyone for help. Feels like a scam.
You'd expect a company of this size would offer much better customer service. AWFUL
If it is not resolved swiftly, I will be making a complaint to the FCA and Financial Ombudsman.

Wirex has been holding my funds for 6+ months after “wrong network” transfer – no transparency or timeline
In June 2025, I tried to transfer Bitcoin from my Coinbase account to my own Wirex account. The amount was worth around EUR 7,500 at the time.
The transaction was sent from Coinbase using the Ethereum network, to a Wirex account in my name. Later, Wirex told me that the transfer had been made “on the wrong network” and that this caused a technical problem.
However, instead of rejecting the transaction or blocking it at the time, Wirex accepted the funds into their system. Since then – for more than six months now – the funds have neither been credited to my account nor returned to me.
Wirex keeps sending me generic, copy‑and‑paste emails saying that they are “working hard” to recover the funds and that they appreciate my understanding. But whenever I ask specific questions about:
what concrete steps they are taking,
what the current technical status is, and
what realistic timeline I should expect,
they simply do not answer these points. I only receive the same vague template message, almost every week, with no real update.
I also raised a complaint with the UK Financial Ombudsman Service. They replied that they do not have jurisdiction over Wirex’s cryptoasset activities, because Wirex is not covered for crypto under their current permissions. So in practice, I am stuck with a company that continues to hold my funds, but is not subject to effective dispute resolution for this part of its business.
I fully understand that sending crypto on the wrong network can create technical issues. What I find unacceptable – and the reason I am sharing this publicly – is the complete lack of transparency and accountability from Wirex:
no clear explanation of what is being done;
no verifiable status update;
no firm timeline or deadline;
just endless “we are working on it, thank you for your understanding” messages.
As of today, Wirex has been holding the equivalent of about EUR 7,500 of my assets for more than six months, with no meaningful progress or solution communicated to me.
I would like to:
warn other users to be extremely careful before trusting Wirex with significant amounts; and
ask if anyone here has successfully recovered funds from Wirex in a similar “wrong network” situation, or has taken legal action / regulatory steps that actually led to a resolution.
Any concrete advice or shared experience would be very much appreciated.

Stay away from Wirex! Another scam company stealing people's money! Thousands of people over the internet got their money stolen from Wirex! My money was stuck with them for over 6 months now. I have been with them since they started so I gave them the benefice of the doubt and waiting to get my money back. But everything just got worst over time.
The customer service is the worst you can get! Third world country cheap ignorant staff dealing with your money and have no clue of the British Law! They hide behind some untruthful things regarding the FCA to steal people's money! I gave them all the required information to make sure my money would be sent back to my bank account but instead, they stole it and deleted every proof of the money's existence in my Wirex account! Sadly, for them, I had the screenshots of everything before they delete my Wirex activity. They also blocked me from all social Media and blacklisted my email so I can no longer send emails to the support. This is a criminal business and they should be shut down as soon as possible and get a nice fine! Stay away from the crooks! I opened a complaint with the FCA already and the Financial Ombudsman. The next step is a lawsuit with my lawyer.
Shame on you Wirex! You killed your business like morons!
