Needed two pieces of walnut veneered mdf cut to specific size - really impressed by whole transaction. Was delivered within the 30 days specified - perfect sizes - exactly what we needed to match with existing furniture - great packaging and delivery. Would certainly use again.

Ordered two pieces of planed / cut to size Poplar / Tulipwood.
Not cheap at £165 and took every day of the 5 weeks to be dispatched.
I knew one of the pieces was extra wide and made up from 3 separate pieces ....
What I wasn't expecting was on arrival the middle piece to be a completely diferent colour ( Green ) to the outside two.... basically as a decorative piece of wood , un usable .
Contacted Woodshop direct and was told that's how it is ... goodbye ...
£165 spent ... 5 weeks later ... £165 lost ... awful customer service ... be warned

Ordered birch ply , yes it took 30 days to arrive but I knew this upfront and the delivery seemed very expensive but it was VERY well packaged. Will use them again.
I agree with some of the other comments in that your wood is under a tenner and suddenly the final bill is 50 quid, but I could not get what I wanted from BandQ....

Ordered some Utile and Douglas fir for my boat building project. Absolutely delighted with the timber, will definitely be using Woodshop direct again 👍

Large selections of different types of wood, easy to use website, clear pricing and the wood that we received within the stated timescale was exactly to the mm that we’d ordered.

We would never have been able to cut these ourselves within those tolerances without having to purchase better more expensive tools than we already have.

Our first ever woodwork project and the results were fantastic - go to website and look at Customer Gallery for pictures of the dog crate we built; it all pieced together perfectly.

If next day delivery is crucial then be careful of buying from Woodshop Direct. On the Monday I was told delivery would be next day if I ordered before 12, but the next day when I placed the order at 10am I was told there was a possibility it would not be next day "couriers very busy". I had no option at this point but to go with the order and hope for the best. The delivery was not next day - in fact it wasn't until mid-afternoon the following day. A refund of the £8 plus VAT next day delivery charge on a total order of £37 would have been seen as a gesture of goodwill - Fedex apologised as they didn't meet the one day delivery - but Woodshopdirect would need to refund, which they refused. They have no sense of customer service - the best they could do was offer me a refund - but not of the delivery cost! A nasty taste in my mouth. Off to forget the experience now.

Extremely unhelpful once we encountered problems.

This company made me quite angry with their attitude to wasting other people's time.

I wanted a few small pieces of hardwood cut to size. I spent 15 minutes selecting the wood and correct sizes and the total came to £6.46. I expected VAT and carriage to be added so was expecting something around £16 - £18 at checkout.

What I actually got was this:

Wood - £6.48; Timber Machining £20.00; Shipping - £16.58; Vat £8.61 - A grand total of £51.67

To top it off I then noticed their delivery states "Cut and dispatched within 30 WORKING DAYS!

So over £50 and a wait of over a month for wood priced at £6.48.

They need to be upfront about these things before wasting our time.

Had a great experience with this company. The wood takes some time but its worth it. Packaged very well and great bits of timber. We had an issue with one of the pieces but they were quick to rectify the situation and sent out a replacement the same day. Great service.

Received my order today in perfect condition. Pandemic is causing some extra delays, but Woodshop managed to deliver within their predicted timescale. Well done.

I wanted to place a very large order of a few pallets of decking and 500m or meranti and redwood plus some oak.
All nice on the phone, asked to send my requirements, no reply. Followed up a few days later and finally a week later they said they could quote me but again asked what I wanted.

I buy large amounts of wood and this is a terrible service and we could have been one of their biggest customers as I spend 10k a month on timber and these guys seem like they just don’t want the business.

I have an Etsy business and rely on these guys to get it right... and they do every-time! My orders tend to be medium sized but consist of a lot of smaller cuts and they have never had any quibbles. Delivery is always when they say and packaged very well. The only issue I ever has was that I paid for pallet delivery for a much larger order but it was delivered via DPD. I called and spoke to a lovely gentleman who sorted it right away and refunded the difference. I have looked elsewhere and no one can quite get it as right as these guys so thank you! Would highly recommend this fab company!!

Ridiculous company, selected two 3m planks of wood which was priced at £106.99 with Vat which was high but I could cope with this and on checkout they added £188 for machining (just wanted square cut planks 22cm wide?) and £143.70 for pallet delivery roadside drop off (two planks?) to total £505.03. Completely ridiculous company!

I must say the company exceeded my expectations. The MDF veneer panel was well cut and the packaging for transport and delivery was first class - in fact, the best ever received.
No hesitation in giving the thumbs up.

Cleanly cut panels and delivered within the promised time. Very pleased with quality, service and price.

OK, so I haven't purchased, but I genuinely could not purchase. I priced up a couple of pieces of hardwood - oak and ash. which came to about £78, expensive but ok for what I wanted. Then I go to checkout and WOAH! suddenly my £78 has become £300. The additional costs of machining (doubled the initial price, despite the fact that I was in the "planed wood" section). And then ... And then £100 for a "pallet delivery". The amount of wood I am buying will weigh about 3 kilos. Really??????

Excellent Service
I ordered 110 cut pieces of plywood. They arrived today - in excellent order.
The packaging was first class, with protective strips to prevent damage in transit.
Once Woodshop Direct has completed the order they realised they could ship to me more cheaply, so they called got my agreement and credited my Paypal account with the difference, which saved me about £20.00 (15%)

Great company. Product really good quality. Friendly helpful advise. My husband had not used real wood veneered mdf before and had many questions. Prices very competitive. Would definitely use again and recommend highly.

This company is brilliant. The quality is amazing and the customer service outstanding. This need to be higher in google searches because it is head and shoulders above some other companies (I won't mention).

Worth five stars because everything was very professional.
Some things I found out:
1. Plan your order. I needed 32 pieces but combined small ones into longer planks to reduce the cost. They were all 40cm wide so Woodshop did all the long cuts and I did some of the short cuts.
2. I had several pieces of similar length e.g. 40cm x approx. 2m, so I ordered all at the length of the longest one, as multiples of exactly the same size reduces the cost too. I just trimmed them down.
3. Delivery was expensive (about 20% of the total cost) but they phoned to arrange a precise time band AND it was all packed on a custom built pallet AND there was no damage whatsoever AND sizes were correct to the mm AND the driver was experienced and extremely helpful AND it was over 200Kg. The rates are clearly shown on the website.
I don't give five stars very easily.
