Woop ate trying to take money from my account even though I didn't renew my policy with them. Trying to get through to speak to them to sort it out us impossible.

None friendly staff

I was told that this company are very lenient and that was the reason I joined them. I was only inspired with them from 23/09 until 11/10 as u cancelled my insurance and found a cheaper offer. This was after the cooling off period. When I called to cancel I spoke to someone called Sophia who was not very friendly sounding over the phone. She told me that I couldn't get a figure of the amount of refund I'll be getting. She mentioned that there will be an administration and cancellation charge as well as charge for period I was covered. This was going to take 7-10 days. I said ok and around 10 days later I phoned to ask if things have gone through and again i was speaking to Sophia (who was again not very friendly) and she confirmed things have been proceed. My premier was for 890 pounds and the refund I received was 630, so the chunk they have taken was unreasonable. To be honest I didn't bother questioning because all I get is "these are our prices and we cant influence them" but let's be honest that is a big sum to take when I only been with them for over 2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend them as I didn't like the way the staff were speaking on the phone.
Let's face it, all insurance companies are a scam and there should be a law to monitor them. Woop maybe ok if you insure your car with them and then pray that you will never get into an accident and call them for a claim.

These are also advised of in our online purchase process and by our teams when purchasing over the phone.

All ok until you need to speak to their customer service advisors!
So my Son had a Woop policy and black box fitted all ok no problems and box and app seemed to all work ok no issues. My Son decided to sell his vehicle and purchase a brand new vehicle we called to obtain a new quote for the vehicle but was advised without a registration number they could not quote! We tried to explain it is a brand new vehicle and has not been registered but understandably we need to have a quote as if it was too expensive he wouldn't be able to buy the car he is only 17! Customer Advisor was rude and quite clearly had no idea of what he was doing. After a lengthy discussion they said we needed to call back when we had a registration number. So we got some quotes from other insurance companies after my Son purchased his new car we called back and Woop could not insure him for the new vehicle so we had to cancel the policy we also received an apology for the incorrect Information provided as they could of provided a quote before we had the registration!!! Even though the handler was adamant no insurer would ever provide a quote with out a vehicle registration number! So now we need a refund should be straight forward he paid his premium in full when he started the policy oh no not Woop they say it will be calculated they couldn't even tell you on the call what to expect back and that it can take a further 10 days!! We then advise them that he paid for the policy on his debit card however this account has since been closed and he opened a new one apparently due to money laundering he can only receive a refund back to original account even if its closed!!! We asked for a cheque payment in policy holders name if they could not use his new account but they said no. After several days and complaints alot of chasing they finally agreed to send a cheque back to him after having to threaten them with the FCA absolutely disgusting customer service they have no customer service skills clearly the staff are not trained correctly as they cannot carry out simply requests and dont realise their calls are recorded clearly otherwise they would check the information they give is correct!
I would avoid them if possible just in case you want to change the car mid way through the policy. I would dread to think how they handle any type of claim!

Not sure about Woop yet I think this…

Not sure about Woop yet I think this needs time, deceptive in away, but cautious easy to get through customer service is abit arrogant. Did not like the customer service when I first phone for assistance.

But it is what is is and I will try not to phone e again. I also have a problem with the black box they will put in my car, I get worried as this has the potential to damage my vehicle.

In regards to the installation of the black box device, this is completed by our professional installation partners. It is highly unlikely that any damage would be caused to your vehicle during the installation process, however, were anything to happen, they would be able to assist you in resolving the issue.
