WordApp: How to run a brilliant business model to the ground with indifference

I am so disappointed. The training, in terms of using platforms like Google Docs and the actual writing and uploading is the worst I have ever been presented.

There is no plan, no outcomes, no structure and no explanation why things are the way they are...we eventually concluded the training was bad, because the trainers were themselves poorly trained, embarrassed and angry about that fact.

In the first week we were told that you have the option to eventually upload your own work and earn more, but after a week we were told that uploading is a compulsory part of the work...which would be fine, if only the training was up to scratch.

The training sucked. The two trainers obviously had no plan, structure, method, they were simply telling the student how they'd do a certain task, and the worst about that is how they kept on having to correct each other, and themselves.

I kept the Skype recordings and they are littered with, "What I forgot to say the last time..." and similar phrases.

The reason WordApp is dying is not the international economy. It is the lackluster attitude of their trainers and the unwillingness of one of their co-founders to even hear what the issue is.

Instead of investigating why we were aggrieved, he rather made the statement "WordApp isn't a training company." Well, Sir, there lies the reason for your company's decay.

Your lack of duty of care and disinterest is my takeaway from WordApp. You have failed to live up to your promises and as long as you tolerate and turn a blind eye towards valid issues in your organization, the rot will spread and will eventually undo all the good work you did while you still gave a damn.

Did I mention how disappointed I am?

Best Company for Writers

I have been an EWA at Wordapp for around six months. I get paid on time every month and get paid very well! At the end of the day if you do your job and you do it well you won’t have any issues. However, if you rush articles and make many mistakes then you simply won’t get more work because clients won’t accept low quality writing. If given the opportunity to work for this company I highly recommend giving it a shot! They truly value hard working writers.

We are currently busy with legal action…

We are currently busy with legal action against WordApp within the country of company registration. Not only for non-payment but they have also been reported at the appropriate regulatory bodies for unethical labour practices.
WordApp is not at all what it claims to be. They have absolutely no permanent employees on staff. They hire freelance copywriters and agree on pricing based on the number of words written. They then suddenly expect the freelancer to source images and do the editing thereof as well as upload and edit uploads on websites, plus attend multiple weekly meetings at absolutely no extra charge. You also need to be available to them all throughout office hours at absolutely no cost. Full-time employment at freelance pay. What is even worse is that they choose a few team leads according to their own discretion and then take a percentage of the writer’s payment (and remember, they get paid per written words ONLY), and then use that to pay the team leader. Essentially turning their business model into a pyramid scheme.

Great writing platform

This is a great platform that can help you earn some extra cash. Their payment mode is also very effective. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is passionate and has some writing skills.

They will happily plaigirise text

They will happily plaigirise text, they also have no idea how to treat people properly. One of the instructors, Linda, kept on referring to the platform as 'What's App' which shows just how much they actually care.

Further, the actual system they use to create their websites is absolutely terrible, keywords are more important than actual flow or structure which is actually very important to SEO in and of itself. More over, you can get much cheaper freelancers on Fiverr or UpWork who can create WordPress sites with much more insight into your project.

Over all, I would not recommend working for them or using their service.

Best Platform For Writers And Clients

Wordapp is an awesome site to say the least! I have been a wordapper for 2yrs and every step of it has been fulfilling. The admins are great guys! Friendly and competent, it's a 5 star rating from me and whether you are a writer looking for a writing platform or a company/business looking to have your website and articles built to perfection then wordapp is the place to be.

Rude editors and low paying tasks

Editors are rather rude and gives feedback in a horrible kind of way. This seems to be an attitude in the company, from the top dogs and down to the “small people” working for them. It seems as if their working conditions are not great hence a toxic environment is created.
There are other content website with editors just as strict, but whom give feedback in a respectable way.

Regarding the tasks, they are repetitive but if you like that - then you’ve got a lot to do at Wordapp. Even when you reach the high levels you’ll notice that the tasks are kind of underpaid.

I also suspect that all these very positive reviews with only 1 written review are from the company/workers themselves. Wordapp tend to tell their customers to write very positive reviews for their clients (skipping the negative info) so this would fit their take on being “objective”.

Perfect Platform for Writers with an Entrepreneurial Spirit

I have worked with a variety of platforms in my eight years as a freelance writer, and I can confidently say that Wordapp is up there with the best, given my experience in the time I have been here.

Wordapp offers a variety of challenging tasks at all difficulty levels. There is plenty of training content as well, augmented by very informative webinars.

Editors are friendly - the overall goal of editorial reviews in Wordapp, I have learnt, is to help writers grow - but strict, and for a good reason; there are clients to please, and they wouldn't be too happy with less than top-notch work. No clients = no jobs = no money.

Wordapp's entrepreneurial focus is where it stands head and shoulders above similar platforms, in my view. Writers are encouraged to rise through the ranks, acquire new skills, and eventually have the capability to manage projects for clients. No other platform offers a similar set up, as far as I'm aware.

Tasks can be a little thin on the ground at lower levels, but the number increases as you level up.

All in all, Wordapp is worth considering if you are patient, willing to learn and have good writing skills.
