My Negative Experience with WorkAdvice (Denmark)
I would like to share my experience working with WorkAdvice.
While I was in Denmark, the company handled all my documents, visa, contract, and SKAT (tax authority) registration. I paid a significant amount of money for these services, trusting that everything would be handled professionally.
However, recently — after I had already left Denmark — I logged into my SKAT account and discovered a debt of -17,500 DKK.
📞 I immediately contacted WorkAdvice to ask what had happened.
Their response was: “It’s not our fault. The problem is with whoever set your BIKORT.”
But they were the ones who set my BIKORT!
They were the only ones managing all my documents and tax matters.
I called again and explained:
“You were in charge of my documents. You handled my SKAT. I don’t understand the system — that’s why I hired you and paid for everything to be done correctly. And now I’m in this situation? Why? How? I don’t have this kind of money to pay off this debt.”
Again, the response was:
“We can’t help you.”
“It’s not our fault. Your employer paid you more than he should have and deducted too little tax — that’s why you’re in debt.”
And that’s not all:
📆 After checking further, I found out that WorkAdvice declared that I started working two months before I actually arrived in Denmark.

❗️Unfortunately, instead of the promised assistance, I ended up with serious financial problems.
Be careful before trusting this company with your documents or tax matters.

First of all, we would like to emphasize that our company provides assistance with document handling, employment contracts, and SKAT (tax authority) registration strictly based on the information we receive from the employee and the employer. We have never had any intention or reason to deliberately make errors in documentation or cause harm to any of our clients.
In your case, the tax card was issued strictly based on the data you personally provided to us — including your expected start date and your anticipated annual income. If your employer later paid you more than initially declared or withheld insufficient tax, this is beyond our area of responsibility — it is solely between you and your employer, who is obligated to correctly withhold and report taxes to SKAT.
Additionally, sometimes there can be technical errors within the tax system that may lead an employer to deduct taxes incorrectly — in such cases, we as a facilitator cannot be held responsible.
The debt that you now see in your SKAT annual statement for 2024 reflects the taxes on the income you actually received, which had not been properly accounted for. If you had declared your actual annual income correctly from the beginning, this situation could most likely have been avoided.
We would also like to emphasise that we assisted you with the application for your work and residence permit under the SL1 scheme, as you initially contacted the Danish Immigration Service directly via email — which is not the correct procedure. In Denmark, it is mandatory to apply through the official channels and to submit biometric data (photo and fingerprints) in order to be legally allowed to work. Before you approached us, you were working without submitting your biometrics, which is illegal — and we informed you of this multiple times. We have written correspondence that confirms this.
After your request for assistance, we helped you submit the SL1 application properly, which was crucial in your situation. As a result, you subsequently received an official residence and work permit in Denmark.
We clearly informed you that working without submitting biometrics is not permitted and that this could lead to serious consequences. The responsibility for providing correct information and adhering to the rules always lies with the applicant.
We also confirm that your tax card was issued correctly based on the information you provided to us.
If you would like further clarification or assistance, we are always open to dialogue and invite you to contact us directly.
