Formal Complaint – Unilateral Cancellation of Confirmed and Paid Reservation (HOST-XXQLJN)

Dear Anders,

I am writing to formally complain about the cancellation of our confirmed and paid reservation, reference HOST-XXQLJN.

On receiving your confirmation email, we were explicitly informed that our reservation at Family & Worker Accommodations in Göteborg for 11 July 2026 to 19 July 2026 had been confirmed. The booking was accepted, payment of SEK 8,000 was collected, and we relied on that confirmation when planning our trip.

It is therefore completely unacceptable that, after accepting our booking and payment, your company has chosen to cancel the reservation. We have acted in good faith throughout this process and have fulfilled all of our obligations as customers.

As you are aware, accommodation availability becomes increasingly limited and expensive closer to the travel date. Your cancellation has placed us in a situation where comparable accommodation may no longer be available at the agreed price, causing financial loss, significant inconvenience, and considerable stress.

I therefore expect the following:

Immediate reinstatement of the original reservation; or
Provision of equivalent or better accommodation for the same dates at no additional cost to us; and
Compensation for any additional expenses incurred as a direct result of your cancellation, including any increase in accommodation costs.

Should you fail to provide a satisfactory resolution within 48 hours, I will pursue all available avenues, including:

Filing formal complaints with relevant consumer protection authorities.
Initiating a chargeback dispute with my payment provider.
Publishing a detailed account of this experience on Trustpilot, Google Reviews, Facebook, Reddit, and other travel review platforms.
Contacting consumer advocacy organizations and media outlets regarding the treatment of customers whose confirmed and paid bookings are cancelled without adequate remedy.

I hope this matter can be resolved professionally and without further escalation. I look forward to your urgent response.
