Personal Profile and Experience
I have gained 20 years’ experience working in Acute Forensic Unit, Acute Psychiatric Unit with adults suffering from complex needs and severe enduring mental health problems and those with various forensic history. As an Agency Staff, this has widened my experience and skills in various mental health settings. I have also worked within an Adolescence Unit, with people suffering from Anorexia and Bulimia.
I have developed transferable skills. I can undertake comprehensive and holistic assessments, good observation skills with minimum supervision by working in solution focused fashion with clients through shared decision making and goal setting.
Clinical Skills
I can demonstrate clinical skills appropriate to the needs of individual patients and the clinical setting in which they required. I have skills in good understanding of budgets. I also can work as a leading senior member of the multi-disciplinary team. I demonstrated effective skills in leading, advising, delegating, supervising, teaching, and developing the skills of more junior’s staffs. I have problem solving skills and can manage all aspects of communication with staff, patients, and relatives. I demonstrated effective communication; listening and observation skills especially during nursing assessments one-to-one sessions with clients.
In the past I have worked as one of the locum staff nurses on Highlands Unit working night shifts.
I am currently, working as an Urgent Care Practitioner in an Assessment Unit and Crisis Team. We get referral from services such as ATS Lead Practitioners and Psychiatry Liaison including GP surgeries.
