Later last year I spent over £1,000 on…

Later last year I spent over £1,000 on an Aor AR8600mk2 and an Aor LA400 loop antenna. In other words, I did my own large part in keeping these guys in jobs during these difficult covid-19 times. I sent an email about the Aor digital ARD300 unit last night, and I received a dismissive and rude reply. The ARD300 unit can involve a tiny mod for the 8600mk2, according to its official manual, online. Of course optional extras like the collins filters require a soldering iron too, i.e. not for me!
I rang up W+S and they were argumentative, and being AOR's main dealer in the UK, they were shockingly clueless. I think they basically didn't want to sell me this £799.95 item, but lacked the people skills to say so. Their email reply essentially said, sit tight for a number of weeks, we're not telling you how many, and an engineer might ring. I ended my telephone call by spelling it out that they didn't actually want the sale.
It's a shame they are so unhelpfully avoidant.
Will I support them and their company further? I might if they apologise, but they'd have to swallow pride...

Good item

5 stars because it was a good item but a bit more expensive than the same radio on ebay and other sites

Diabolical customer service

If ever a company didn't care less about a customer order then this is a good example and this is not the first time this has happened to me with this company but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt the second time.

I ordered some specialist goods which had to come from abroad and I was quoted 6 weeks delivery. After promising not to bill my card until the goods arrived and quoting a fixed price, they proceeded to charge my card immediately, hike the price and then I had to chase them for delivery. After they had my money there was no follow up on my order from them and each time I phoned I got the same lacklustre responses. Even when they did arrive, no one bothered to let me know or have them sent out until I called and asked them where they were again.

I got passed around the shop as no one person seemed to be able to deal with it themselves. Each time I had to repeat the query because there was no handover.

wsplc.com you are a communications company - start communicating internally and teach your sales people the art of customer service. If you don't want the business say so before you take the orders because customers now expect good customer service by default.

For me I won't bother again - if this is the level of service I can expect from Waters and Stanton Electronics then I may as well do it myself or do without because I won't be spending anymore money with you.
