I have used 0800 Handyman on a range of jobs for over 5 years. Jobs have included carpentry, minor electric and plumbing works, painting and general handyman tasks like putting up paintings and shelves. The service is consistently excellent, including many jobs completed on short notice, and the quality of the work high. On the one occasion where work has not been to standard, they promptly resolved the issue through sending a new tradesman and did not charge for the work that was not properly done. A reliable company which stands behind their work and I will continue to use them without hesitation. AS

An excellent service. Colin did all the repairs today (it's the second time he's come to the house) in record time. He also repaired a squeaky floorboard that I hadn't even thought of fixing. Well done!
I'd recommend the service to anyone.

Have used 0800Handyman for many years for a wide range of household handyman jobs in London. Have found them efficient and quick. Today Colin visited and he completed all 4 jobs in 20 minutes and then fixed a couple of other minor issues for me within half-an-hour. Reliable timekeeping - usually at least 5 minutes early.

Yet again absolutely delighted with 0800handyman. My job was a small one but Colin the carpenter was punctual, totally professional and advised me as the best way to do the job. Also think that the loyalty scheme is an excellent idea.

I have used 0800handyman many times for various different jobs around the house. This morning Emanuel came to fix a faulty dimmer switch. This was the first time I have requested an electrician via 0800handyman and I was very impressed. He arrived bang on time, he was courteous, friendly and efficient, and resolved the issue. I would recommend 0800handyman (and Emanuel!) without reservations and will continue to book jobs with them as and when required.

I've always found 0800 very reliable - they turn up when booked and they do a good job.

Colin was excellent. He fitted kitchen cabinets, an oven and a kitchen sink tap coming up with sensible solutions to the challenges that arose from whoever had fitted the kitchen before! He was on time and very polite. I would use him again.

Very prompt and the job was done quickly.

I've used 0800 Handyman many times and they've been consistently great.

The electrician arrived on time, very quickly sorted out the problem and went off to a local electrical supplier for replacement parts. He returned quickly, fitted the parts and the under cupboard lighting in my kitchen started working. All within the space of an hour. I am very happy with the service.

Colin was great, turned up early, knew exactly what to do and was lovely with it!

Completely unreliable!!
Had a slot booked, only to be told two hours before the appointment that the handyman won't be coming because he had an accident (seeing other reviewers mention this makes me think it's a complete lie).
The next day another one turned up with absolutely no clue about what he was supposed to fix. He was sent pictures of an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FLAT by the dispatch company and had to leave without fixing anything.
We had to book a third appointment (which is already ridiculous!) and not only didn't he finish the job properly, he messed up the water pressure in the flat.

We were promised a FOURTH appointment, which (surprise!) was never entered in the system, and the handyman never showed up. Now stuck with low water pressure and an unfinished tap replacement.

Company doesn't care at all, all I've received was an insincere "sorry".

Avoid!!

Over the last few years, the 0800 handyman service has become the answer to all my problems!
All those jobs around the house - from small to major - now get done with minimum hassle. The "saving up" a number of jobs, and then booking a handyman for a single appointment, can also save time and money.
I have been lucky enough to re-book the same handyman over a period of several years, whose skills include include a range of jobs such as basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, tiling and jet-washing.
I'm more than satisfied with an excellent service.

0800handyman Ltd (Putney) have been extremely helpful and capable every time I have had a plumbing problem with both repairs and installations. I am a satisfied client who would certainly recommend them.

Really poor experience. The handyman that was sent by the Putney branch had no idea how to sort out some basic repairs we needed, spent ten minutes muttering to himself and looking tbrough his bag, then made the problem worse on a cabinet door which is now stuck, and then charged £60 plus VAT for the privilege. I hadn’t used up the whole hour and still had things I needed done in the house (basic things like hanging up paintings that even he should have been able tondo) but I just couldn’t bear the idea of more inadequate attempts. Avoid.

The plumber spent more time than agreed and although he came for a pre-visit he still went out for one hour (at lunchtime) to get some spare parts. We were charged more than they had estimated although the job was not complicated. The workman was rude and swore at my husband when he questioned the bill. Poor customer service too. I do not recommend at all.

Used them a few times. Their service level is variable. The people who come out and do your tasks are not directly employed by the company. At the company level, staff are awful. Rude, late with quotes, and charge a ridiculous amount on top of the contractors they employ. I received a quote for £3500 for laying down laminate from their head office, when the handyman had said the quote would have been about £1200. They tried to charge for 8 man days on an hourly basis, which is approximately 3 times what it should cost, rather than charging on a daily basis for a job which would take a few days. The quote they sent me was 4 days late, and i had to chase up, and pay to be quoted. Because their quote was so late, we wasted 4 days of our project time. Took it up with their manager, who didnt seem to care.
This was our 2nd bad experience with them in less than a month. Earlier this month they did a wallpaper and general paint job for us. They couldnt hang wallpaper straight so we got someone else in. Thinking it might just be the contractor we though we'd try for another service. Avoid. You're best of using taskrabbit or checkatrade. At least that way you know if you get terrible service, you're not paying 2 what the market would charge to be treated like dirt.

The handyman service was booked with great ease; I phoned the office and successfully booked a handyman to come around the very next day to fix a few things around the house.
The handyman arrived on time, was friendly, knew what he was doing, and got the job done well.
HOWEVER, it was expensive, expect to pay £60 per hour for labour, plus 20% VAT (£12), plus any extra materials used to complete the job. Combine this with the fact that if you have a lot of jobs to do, than the costs will add up. Just be prepared to pay more than anticipated.

Jeff and Vyaslav helped us with various jobs last week and we were very happy with them. Eg Vyaslav 1 hour 5 jobs including planing and rehanging bathroom door and replacing a light switch. Have used in the past too - Richard was helpful last year, fitted a ceiling light and some other jobs back then. Bookings system works better by phone than by email. Great that charges based on half hours not full hours like some more expensive competitors.
