Scam Company Avoid!
Plumber showed up today to unclog a kitchen sink/garbage disposal. Quoted me $59—seemed fair at first.
Then came the scam. She claimed a small metal shelf under the sink—secured with FOUR half-inch screws—had to be temporarily removed. No big deal, right? Until She tried to charge $199 EXTRA just to unscrew them. That’s right, $199 to remove four tiny screws from a flimsy piece of particle board. A job that takes 30 seconds with a basic screwdriver. This isn’t plumbing—it’s extortion.
Absolutely ridiculous, insulting, and a complete waste of time. I have already hired someone else. And no, I won’t be paying a single cent for this pathetic excuse of a “service call.” Total scam operation. Avoid.
*Update Spoke with the plumber's manager "Kim" following day and Kim doubled down!! You read that right! $200 to unscrew 4 tiny Philips screws is "totally reasonable" according to Kim.
