Refund issues!

The product sent to me wasn’t quite right. I ordered LED lights and although the design looked good the brake light, indicator, reverse light and fog light are the same level as the main light where they should be considerably brighter. They are also very dark for a smoked light and there’s no reflector making them illegal for the road unless you have a reflector elsewhere (my truck does not as the reflector is built into the light) Non of which was stated in the advert for the item or in the further info section on the website.

To be fair to 4x4at they were very good at replying in the first instance, they let me know that they hadn’t had any complaints so far with the item but that I was more than welcome to return the lights and how to do so - This was as good as the refund process was going to get!!

Off I went to the post office to send my parcel back to 4x4at! I sent it tracked parcel force at my own expense (how do we foot the bill for an item not fit for purpose?) and they received it a few days later (picture evidence thanks to parcel force) so I waited… and waited… and waited and waited a little more before I got a tad frustrated and decided it’d been way too long since the item reached them for there to be no response or payment made!! I emailed Scott again (he had helped me before with a canopy they sold and was very good) Scott’s reply was that he had been on holiday and would check what was going on and that Christmas was slowing down refunds - pleas be patient. Thank you Scott - I’ll await your reply!!

No response from Scott so I emailed again - this time I said that I’d dispute through PayPal if it wasn’t resolved as it’s been nearly a month since they had received the item. Scott told me not to dispute as it would take longer and that the refund had been made but he would check with accounts as to why the money hadn’t been paid!!

Ive just disputed the payment with PayPal as I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear that he didn’t get back to me and I haven’t received the money!

It’ll be two months on the 6th of Feb since they received the parcel and over two months since I first requested a refund! I feel that two months is stretching the Christmas period a little too far for their own gain!

Please exercise caution with this company - they seem great initially when you’re giving them the money, but if you’re trying to get it back things get a little frustrating!

Update!!

Scott has apologised as it was a long time to wait. He explains he’s tried his best to sort the refund but there are other factors involved out of his control. The refund has been processed today and I have a message from PayPal to confirm this is happening and may take 5 days. It’s a shame it came to this but I’m pleased with the resolve.

Still chasing £465 refund

UPDATE!!

Today 4x4 keep reporting my review asking for more information through trustpilot, hoping that if I don’t reply within 3 days that my truthful review gets removed!!!

Buckle up buttercups this is not going to happen until you refund me in full for the outstanding monies owed through your incompetent staff!!!!!

What more info would you rip off lot want than I have already posted?

18th January 2024, STILL Chasing my refund for £465 it’s not up to us the customer to make sure you have unfitted the canopy, the liner wasn’t taken out by your incompetent staff!!!!

We did inform you the pickup was being returned immediately to Toyota! I want my full money back as you damaged our Hilux!!

Faulty Canopy, Very Incompetent Staff!! #STAYCLEAR
We purchased a new Hilux Invincible x and decided to have a canopy fitted by this dreadful company! We have had nothing but trouble with the electrics on the central locking system on the canopy and on a closer look the vehicle had a lot of scratches and scuffs on the pickup back, we reported this to them immediately to be told that they would fit the next canopy for free! However this damage was to our new Hilux and were obviously not very happy!

My husband had to take the pickup back and asked for the back to be removed, Laura advised this would be ok as we explained that the vehicle was been returned to Toyota due to electric issues that started from the day the canopy was fitted.
The canopy was removed however the liner (I think that's what it's called) was left in pickup at the time of the return to Toyota apparently!! Laura has only issued a partial refund less £461.13p when the full order was £2,748.46!!!!

Emails below to ask what the £461.13p outstanding refund is for? I don't think this is a difficult question?

Thank you for confirming the refund for the canopy & fitting charges, however we seem to be missing another £461.13p on the refund, can you please explain what this is for?

I have had numerous conversations with Laura who would do so much better in her role if she actually listened to her customers and understood the consumer rights act.

Can someone just read the emails that my husband James sent to your company regarding the faults when the canopy was fitted, everything that was fitted wasn’t fit for purpose and by law we are entitled to a full refund.

If you haven’t refunded us for the canopy liner I suggest you do so as this order was faulty from the day of fitting.

I will call to chase this refund on Tuesday, but would like you to confirm by email why you are withholding our outstanding money?

I just got back from having a winch and…

I just got back from having a winch and a snorkel added to my Ranger Raptor and I have to say what a great experience. The welcome from Rob was wonderful and professional, but the star of the show was Richard who fitted it all. Superb job and Richard even sold me a light system and fitted in the time he had left as he had some time left on the job I had booked. Highly recommend and thank you to all. I will be back for more!

What a fantastic place for anyone…

What a fantastic place for anyone wishing to update / upgrade their 4x4, everything from start to finish was trouble and stress free especially with the help of Rob who advised me over the phone and a welcoming smile on arrival to Richard who did the work on my vehicle to a top class standard can’t thank them both enough 😜👍
More items at this place than you can shake a stick at with something for everyone with a 4x4.

All the way from Leicester 2 1/2 hour drive to give my keys over sitting in the waiting room for half an hour to be told that the wheels won’t be here till March. Not impressed

Not impressed. Ordered nudge bars front and back and wind deflectors. Was told a delay on the wind deflectors. Now over 3 months later still waiting for them. And the nudge bars packing a joke. Just chunks of styrofoam threw in a box. Just threw in random. Not even a call saying more delays. Just blanked.

3 weeks now and i am still waiting for…

3 weeks now and i am still waiting for the delivery. I ordered a 22” tyre. They send it by DHL - the tyre was lost( tracking was working but the parcel never moved) , chasing them every day, finally after 1 week they claimed they send another one with DHL Freight ( tracking was provided but was not showing on DX website) and i was told they can track it only from their end. After calling them for another 15 days they claimed they send the 3 rd tyre and it should be delivered to me tomorrow ( again no tracking provided as they state they can only track it from their end). I placed the order on 18 November 2023 and today is 7 th December 2023 . The website states 24 hours delivery. Even i will receive it tomorrow is 3 weeks and 1 day since the order and 15 calls.

I need another tyre from the spare but i am afraid to order from them again as i can’t wait until 2024 to get it delivered.

Ordered a Ford Ranger WildTrak Predator Platform Rack. through this company (well Clowns)
Product is great well the part that turned up after waiting 10 days.
unfortunately the product arrive with no fixings. even after calling and explaining to there very poor customer services that i only had five days until i left for an extended holiday around Europe (what i needed the rack for) they still didn't manage to get the fixings to me. ( 5 days to get a small pack of bolts from one part of the UK to another part of the UK) and these clowns couldn't manage it.
So i now have an expensive ornament sat in my garage and these clowns have refused to take it back and refund my money when i get home due to me sailing tonight without the rack as i don't have the fittings.
If you want one of these its a great product but dont order it from these clowns.

To Reply to you accusation that i didn't want to cooperate and keep the product for 3 months was that i was catching a Ferry to France withing a few hours for a trip of 3 months without the rack i ordered fitted to my truck as you had not sent the fittings for the said Rack.
The rack is still in my garage in the box it arrived in still without the fitting. but you have told me you are not willing to accept it back when i arrive back in the UK as 3 months time scale is to long. you even suggested i give it to a neighbor to send back.
As for your suggestion that you sent the fittings straight out on the 4th December. Royal Mail seem to disagree with you. they state the item was dispatched by the sender at 18:13 on the 5th December. So are you now accusing Royal Mail of lying?

We have tried to reason with you in regards to a solution for your order to which you didn't want to co-operate with us. We kindly asked for images of the products condition to which you said you didn't have time to do. You wanted to keep the product for 3 months and have your money back upfront.

We did try propose some alternate solutions for a collection while you're away i.e. collecting from a neighbour or friend to which you also refused to do.

You left us out of options I'm afraid and we were prepared to help.

Order Details:

The roof rack was delivered on Friday 1st December and to which the fitting kit was missing so once you notified us we sent this straight out with Royal Mail on Monday 4th December to which they've had some internal delays that we can't control.

we have shared evidence with you of us shipping on the 4th December and all relevant tracking information. Which is showing delivery today (6th December).

Apologies we couldn't meet your expectations on this occasion.

I put my registration in to 4x4 web…

I put my details in to 4x4 web site and the wrong wheel was sent. I was told the year was a cross over. I sent the wheel back for £12. I had to wait 6 weeks from the day I bought it for a partial refund. 4X4 would not pay for any postage I paid for. Not very happy for there slow Response time. And for mugging me off with the wrong wheel and not doing the right thing and paying for the postage to me or offering to pay for the return postage.

Awful experience

Much the same experience as others. Bought a Aeroklas canopy for my new Ranger Raptor. After it was installed, the electric opening button did not work, we were told this was an issue multiple people were having, we were sent a new button - this didnt resolve the issue. We were told we had no option but to bring it to Coleshill (6 hour round trip). The lock then failed so we had no method of opening it. Took it to Coleshill on the assurance they would have everything needed to fix both issues (lock and button). The lock they fixed but the button needed a relay they didnt have in stock. Then 4x4 shipped a new relay 3 weeks later, totally different design to the old one which involves drilling a large hole in the canopy to hide the new relay which is twice the size. Tested the new relay before drilling and it doesnt resolve the problem. Have said we want to have it picked up and returned for a refund, was told we would get feedback but have now been ghosted. Have been left with no choice but to raise it as an issue with Trading Standards and are now looking at a small claims court submission. DESPERATELY frustrating and disappointing service.
