Ordered a new wedding ring and engagement ring clean. They assured us they would be ready in time. Heard nothing from them so with the wedding on Saturday, gave them a call on Tuesday. Was told I needed to speak to a specialist who would call me back and they would mark it as urgent. No one called back. No problem, these things happen. So I called on Wednesday - process repeated, no one called back. Thursday rinse, repeat... By Friday I was getting worried so I called as soon as they opened, and then every hour thereafter. Each time spoke to a nice polite person who said a sales specialist would call me back and they knew it was urgent. But could offer no other help when I explained "that's what you said last time". Said I was quite happy with a "yes/no" answer to whether the ring was ready as could make other emergency arrangements if necessary. I said they could call, email, text whatever they wanted. I suggested they put me through to management - obviously they were "busy". Asked if there really was nothing else they could do for such a simple request that was waiting untold time and causing huge amounts of stress THE DAY BEFORE OUR WEDDING..."sorry sir, you'll have to wait for a sales specialist to call you back". I think they knew this was totally laughably ridiculous but weren't allowed to say anything else? quite surreal... Anyone with a shred of common sense would know that a day before your wedding spending hours on the phone chasing a simple yes/no answer is not what you want to do. And anyone with a shred of common sense would know that it's simply not credible that during the entire week no one in the sales team had 2 minutes to call a customer who had spent tens of thousands of pounds with the company to let him know his rings were ready (or not). So I can only assume there is some fundamental flaw with their customer communication process they have no intention of fixing as they never acknowledged there was any problem with it. In the end I just sent my brother to the store and said he should demand the rings and refuse to leave without them. He said they weren't busy, just sitting around chatting. He demanded they check for the rings. They went to check the safe...and what do you know? THEY HAD BEEN SITTING THERE THE WHOLE TIME. Obviously they didn't apologise...why would they? Honestly, all so unbelievably bad I actually find the whole experience quite funny. Nice anecdote to tell about the most comically terrible customer experience of my life.
