My experience with Abacus Life was great.

My experience with Abacus Life was great in that they made the insurance transaction very smooth and very easy. Dealing with their agent, Fiona Li was a pleasure in that she handled the details in a very good manner.
I would certainly recommend them to other insurance owners.

A Horrible experience and a fictional offer

Response to Abacus’s response. Everything you said is true, Except that you turned me down. I was told that I was turned down by a different funder which was not Abacus. If in fact, I was turned down by Abacus, then shame on you for putting me through 3 months of hell and including my family in this process. Perhaps, you can explain to me why my personal history would have any bearing on anyone else. The truth is and you know it, Abacus has purchased policies unknowingly on individuals who have personal histories similar to mine. The difference…I told the truth. My anger stems from the fact that your firm is judging me on something that I paid for.

It is normal for a person to rate a company by the success or failure of the settlement. In my case the latter occurred. I was presented with a great offer. Unfortunately, the offer was pulled because of 1 strike on my history. Everyone agreed the strike did not affect the validity of the contract for sale.
I do not trust the partners of Abacus. I do howeve, trust EFI to give you as she did me 100 % effort. She is to good to be wasting her talent at this company.

Dear Mr. Kossak

Our decision to withdraw your offer wasn’t an easy one to make but the “one” strike you referenced was significant enough for us to reach that conclusion. We operate under strict regulatory guidelines which mandate our purchasing decisions. It would not be fair to the thousands of other clients we’ve assisted if we adjusted our standards. In the end, we provided you a complete copy of your file so you could utilize other settlement companies. We also appreciate your comments about Efi. She is a wonderful member of our company and worked very hard on your behalf. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Fiona was so friendly and helpful...

I arranged a time for a phone appointment with Fiona and she was prompt contacting me and so friendly and helpful, as I was very nervous asking questions about the wording of my policy I never fully understood. Although I couldn't receive a settlement at this time, she offered a lot of information and said I could call any time in the future with questions.

Monica was so honest

Monica was so honest. She told me how the process works and even though my policy did not qualify, she was honest enough to tell me why it did not qualify. Some of the other companies I contacted gave me vague, indistinct and somewhat dubious excuses. She was great.

Life Insurance Policy

I was looking to cash out a life insurance policy I no longer needed. John Aldridge was the account manager I was working with. It turns out my policy was not cost effective for Abacus to purchase, however, John couldn’t have been more professional, pleasant and helpful throughout the entire process.

Totally trustful and very thorough

Always sell your policy directly to a Life Settlement Company. Most TV ads are brokers who connect you with a Life Settlement Company at a commission of 7 to 30 % just for a simple phone call. Avoid the scam.
After 19 years of $100,000 Life insurance monthly payments, I received $9000 cash deposit transfer for the remaining 11 months. This was due to the incredible diligence and persistence beyond the call of Efi Laina, Account Executive (greek heritage). Paperwork according to a strick set of state laws and regulations is very similar to a real estate sale closing transaction. Efi's knowledge of all of the complexities is at the doctorate level. Incredible! Her communication skills were very often and very comforting, including an escrow account set up for my safety. You can totally trust Abacus with no fear or apprehension. Thanks to Efi. Above and beyond!

Abacus really went above and beyond for me, I really appreciate how dedicated they were (especially Efi) to getting me the maximum amount of money and getting it to me very quickly. I had my doubts when I started this process, you have to give a ton of personal info and that can be scary. I'm really grateful for the settlement I received. It took a ton of pressure of me and I'm doing a lot better since. THANK YOU!

Very friendly no pressure

Have not sold my policy yet However felt very comfortable speaking with them and they provided me the information needed to get myself a cash quote for my life policy. Definitely not high pressure sales call.

BEWARE

My absolute frustration has driven me to write this review for those of you who are considering selling your life insurance policy, especially those with a terminal illness, when time is so precious. BEWARE! This is my unfortunate experience with Abacus Life Settlements.

At first, communications went well with our representative Jackson, but when he suddenly left the company, my husband and I were led on an endless, multi-month journey with plenty of empty promises. At first we weren’t even informed that our representative had left the company! We had to find out on our own and it was only after weeks of several phone calls did we learn they he was no longer there. When we asked for a new representative (as we were literally in the middle of negotiating and trying to conclude an offer), we were told someone would contact us back, but they didn’t, even though we called many times. It was very disconcerting to be completely neglected and have no follow up. Matthew (one of the managing partners) had been involved in our discussions but he was very difficult to get a hold of and didn’t return our calls either. A dedicated representative was never reassigned. After weeks, which turned into months, Matthew finally reached back and promised to talk the next day and work out similar numbers to what we were offered before, but once again, he did not, despite our attempts to contact him. Weeks went by with great frustration and my husband expressed his dissatisfaction in a review. Following this, I spoke with Matthew by phone and he talked me into believing him when he said that he would make it right. Well he didn’t. His idea of working it out was making a verbal offer significantly lower than before, which then turned into an even lower number in writing. The idea of working in good faith is exactly that, so if you’re looking for good faith, don’t expect it from Abacus. Instead of taking responsibility and setting things right, they are only interested in pushing a narrative that tries to shift the blame for their own inadequacies. I also have concerns that they have discussed our particulars with other companies. Are they trying to punish for a bad review?

My advice to Abacus Life Settlements when dealing with the terminally ill patient and family is this: A viatical settlement offer should be handled with the greatest of care, and the greatest attention, not with neglect and false narratives. Have some respect for us, those whose misfortunes you make a living from! If you offer to make things right after messing us around for many months, causing us emotional and financial loss, you should do exactly that, not pretend that you will, and then drag us through the mud, once again. It’s absolutely disgraceful! Shame on you!!

TELL THE TRUTH, Matthew Ganovsky.

Abacus and Matthew Ganovsky just left the same response as the first response. ???
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY, ABACUS Life?
They left a form letter response, twice. So typical, for Matthew Ganovsky to respond in such a cold calculated fashion creating a delusional narrative to protect themselves from the truth. Stay away, from Abacus and Matthew Ganovsky especially if you are dealing with cancer and you want a fair deal, not a greed driven response with stress attached to it. If you are a cancer person, and you don't want to be stressed out heed this warning, stay away from Abacus and Matthew Ganovsky.
This is for Abacus, if you want to respond to my one star review regarding your company why don't you come up with something that that's a little more honest instead of creating a narrative that only suits you. TELL THE TRUTH. I also have dates, copies of texts, copies of emails and voicemails that never got responded to. Matthew Ganovsky should take responsibility for his unequaled horrible response towards a cancer patient. If you're not going to tell the truth please don't respond. Every time you respond with your own fake narrative it's just frustrating to deal with you, an individual that places a fake narrative above truth. This shows a very disqualifying character in regards to Abacus Life and Matthew Ganovsky.
