Disappointed
Buying the Motorhome from Abcus a few years ago was great and at the time fair deal.
The workshop did some good work although having had litium installed, were a little concerned that the guy later told me he did not understand Lithium?
Sadly the quality of work has since deteriorated, having had a problem with my habitation door it has been in 3 times, each/time made it worse. Waiting for parts, one part even got lost on the day it was supposed to have arrived.
Latest habitation service seem to been lacking in any service apart from a thorough damp test that failed the Motorhome. Not sure what instrument was used, but 99% moisture reading in one area, seemed a bit extreme. When I checked it was 25%, so yes a problem
Instead of repairing a leaking shower drain, I was told it was blocked and the waste tank needed to come out to be cleaned.
I even told them where the water as leaking. If they had listened to me and done their job they would have found the leak very easily. (Repair might have been more difficult)
Asked for the habitation door to be realigned probably, but that was not done, and when they popped out to do it, it made the problem even worse!
In the few years I have dealt with Abacus, there have been a huge staff turn over, so you can’t build a trust.
I do know friend with never Motorhomes are still getting good service, I have now found a garage that has repaired what Abacus could not do, so I shall try and avoid them in the future.and that includes trading my current motorhomes in for a newer model.
The garage over on Weyhill side are great for engine service and would give them 5 stars.
Excellent service
Gosia went above and beyond to help me with an after sales query. Excellent service. Thank you again.
ABACUS SERVICE AND TECH TEAM
Craig and his colleague from the Service department went above and beyond to fix outstanding warranty issues.
Indeed Craig, helped with computer and online and engine management issues. Explaining and guiding and offering explanations.
They were friendly, approachable and above all, I felt they were experienced in the industry.
The service department are amazing
The service department are amazing. I had a gas leak on my motorhome, although they were very busy Ben told me to bring it straight in as ‘my safety is important to Abacus’.
Thank you Ben, Craig and the team for sorting me out and saving my holiday.
Have just returned from Abacus service…
Have just returned from Abacus service centre having driven there with a faulty skylight mechanism
Must say the level of service from Craig was exceptional from dropping the van off to picking it back up
His level of expertise is a credit to the company and his customer service skills are exceptional
Thanks for the advice on other issues too Craig much appreciated

Extremely satisfied customers
My husband and I took delivery of our beautiful new Adria Compact Supreme DL which was ordered Oct ‘24 we expected delivery in March but there was a delay. However, we had such a very warm and friendly welcome from the team including Ian the relatively new General Manager. It was a complete contrast to when we were making the order back in Oct ‘24. Ian made time to introduce himself and enjoyed sharing our excitement of finally taking ownership of our new motor home. I would also like to give special thanks to Craig who did the handover and went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied. Also Kirstie who looked after all the paperwork, Kirstie provided excellent customer service and was very professional and thorough in helping us to complete the necessary paperwork. Thanks also to Greg who was also on hand to help us in anyway. We are overjoyed with our new motor home, we particularly love the leather interior and it drives beautifully. We are now enjoying setting it up for our future adventures. A very big thank you to all the team at Abacas
I know it says Motorhome Hire
I know it says Motorhome Hire, but I can’t find the Motorhomes Sales on here. Went in with my wife just to have a look at some Motorhomes after visiting the NEC show. Met a lovely chap who answered all my questions and now buying one. I only popped in for a look. Thank you Kirsty Emma and Greg
Was made really welcome when I popped…
Was made really welcome when I popped in to look a some motorhomes. The salesman Greg I met was knowledgeable and didn't rush me. Hope to see him again after the nec show. He even showed me around ones they rent out so I am going to try before I buy.
I made a call to the sales department...DON'T BE RUDE
I made a call to the sales department, and I was told a false fact after he had argued with me and made unsubstantiated claims.
I asked the sales person to confirm what he had said 3 times and he would not. Then he just ended the call saying go and buy a motorhome elsewhere.
My question where not unreasonable. I just wanted to confirm how a few warranty issues would be dealt with.
I just wouldn't feel comfortable giving this company 100k for a new van. The sale person in my opinion was aggressive and lacked any sales skill.
Excellent service when purchasing a new motorhome
Having just purchased a new motorhome we were delighted with the service and attention we received. Nothing was too much trouble and Greg, Emma and Craig ensured a smooth transaction. Many thanks.
We will have no hesitation in recommending you to others.
Don’t touch Abacus with a barge pole!
Don’t go near this company! We bought a motorhome for £73,000 and it didn’t even get us home. Broke down at the petrol station on the way home. The drive was 40mins. Contacted Abacus they blamed the immobiliser, the guy who fitted it drove all the way from Bath 3hrs to fix it. Abacus didn’t offer the cone and collect the motorhome my husband was stuck at the petrol station for 3 hours. It wasn’t the immobiliser. They then moved the blame to Ford as the chaise was Ford. I then spent 4 days sorting out getting the motorhome to a Ford garage. Including calling the AA. Eventually Mike from Abacus came and took it to the garage. It was some electrical problem. He Jerry rigged something to get it going. I was told it would be looked at within 48hrs 5 days later nothing. We decided we wanted a refund which we were legally allowed due to the fact that the motorhome wasn’t fit for purpose. I also got legal advice!
Eventually the owner got involved. Very nice guy and agreed to the refund. But wouldn’t do it until Ford had agreed that we hadn’t caused the problem. (We only had the motorhome in our hands for 40mins). It spend about 8 days sitting in our drive doing nothing. He also wanted to have agreement from Swift. I couldn’t understand any of this as we had bought it from Abacus not Swift or Ford. It took another week and with me constantly calling and emailing to get our refund. It was sent at 5.25pm on a Friday. The owner called to confirm. Credit where credit is due he was a nice guy, but he owns a badly run company.
The after care and customer care is absolutely terrible. The manager was diabolical. In my opinion the moment the brand new motorhome broke down they should’ve taken the problem away and returned it when it was fixed.
We have now bought a camper van from Brownhills in Nottingham and they are 10 out of 10!
We have just purchased a new motorhome…
We have just purchased a new motorhome from Abacus. This is our 3rd motorhome we have owned and must say this company are great. They did what they said on day of collection although we took it back to have mud flaps fitted which on the order and the SIM card on internet corrected.
A big thank you to Greg,Emma,John & Craig.
We think this Mercedes Motorhome is the best one we had.
Abacus Andover read the small print
Abacus Andover . Read the terms and conditions very very carefully there duty of care it seems is sadly lacking . Ask lots of questions we didn’t and it cost us £1100. We had never driven a Campervan before and it has an odd handbrake ( not explained during hand over ) luckily a member of staff noticed I was having trouble and put me right . Drove it home with no issues parked on the driveway engaged handbrake and the confirmation light came on the dashboard. 20 mins later it rolled 2 meters into our garage . I rang abacus straight away to check if the vehicle was safe to drive and was told it was and even though the handbrake was on and the light was on I may not have put it on properly !!! . I disputed this but was told no fault was found therefore we were liable . So 3 days hire cost £1500 . Be very very careful
proceed only with extreme caution
Use this company with caution. We have hired twice. First time we had a failing leisure battery, which was fixed by the AA on the go, but was very inconvenient. We looked beyond this and went back for a second hire a few weeks ago. On check out they did not document all the damage properly (neither did we to be fair) and then on return we were charged over £650 for damage to a window that was broken on hiring. They tried to charge us this amount without any proof of the cost to repair and never did justify the full amount. Just as bad, the attitude and lack of customer care is not at a level we expected. We will never use them again and I advise everyone to proceed with extreme caution and make sure every single aspect of the vehicle is documented before you drive off.
Sold a Motorhome to abacus
Sold a Motorhome to abacus , and the place and staff had a very chilled out atmosphere, very professional and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to buy or sell a Motorhome or hire one .
AMAZING!!!
AMAZING!!! From booking to collection and return, nothing was too much for the friendliest and most helpful team of people. You all helped make our holiday the best we have ever had 🥰 thank you x
A lovely company
We had dealings with their sales team. We were very impressed with their knowledge. Nothing too much trouble. Although we did not end up buying from them, I could not imagine a more pleasant, honest and engaging experience. Would recommend them as a highly principled operation to anyone.
Thank you to H & Paul

I have only used Abacus once for a…
I have only used Abacus once for a motorhome and was delighted by not only what's included in within the hire but also with the level of service afforded me.
So I booked again to go to a large cycle event. However, due to Covid had to ask to defer the booking for a year - Steve the manager did this straight away. Unfortunately due to the everchanging Covid landscape I have had to ask if they could move my booking a further 2 times! Although embarrassed to ask, each time it has been changed without question and with empathy for my situation.
I am really impressed, thankful and look forward to eventually getting away ...NEXT June :)
Avoid this company.
The campervan we hired was returned undamaged and Abacus checked it over. It was left parked on their very crowded and busy forecourt. Five hours later, presumably when it was checked out for the next hire, they informed us it was heavily scratched. We’ve been sent photos of the damage, and it's impossible that you wouldn’t notice it when checking in the vehicle (we’d only had the vehicle for three days and it was dry weather, so it was a clean vehicle when it was returned).
Despite all the evidence suggesting it was damaged after it was checked in, they have withheld the repair cost from our deposit. This is unlawful and we will have to go to small claims court to resolve this.
The vehicle itself had quite a few problems. It had touch sensitive lighting that switched itself on at random in the night, the kitchen drawer catch was virtually impossible to open (with cutlery and plates inaccessible) and I was very glad that we took our own mattress toppers as the mattress was stained. On the plus side, the staff were helpful with problems during the hire period. But overall, I wouldn’t go near this company ever again.
