Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 80 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently mentioned that recent software updates introduced an intrusive advertising system, tiny unreadable fonts, and confusing layouts that made standard mobile navigation extremely difficult. Consumers also complained that excessive advertisements frequently block essential weather information, disrupt daily usage, and drastically slow down overall application performance. Some reviewers were happy with past versions, noting that earlier editions were exceptionally user-friendly and provided reliable meteorological details. However, many customers expressed deep frustration over sudden subscription pushes, unexpected billing issues, and intrusive mandatory video ads appearing unexpectedly before checking daily forecasts.

Thier weather prediction model is designed to generate views

Thier weather prediction model is very bad 48 hrs-2 weeks out. Matter of fact, is follows a very similiar pattern that Ive seen for years now. In the 2 week model, it will predict some significant weather change that rarely ever happens. What does happen though, is I will take the time to open the app and check more often to check the weather. Ive watched this pattern/model from them for years now and Im convinced they do this on purpose. Find another app.

so unaccurate

I'm sorry but it is so unaccurate , I can give it more than 1 star. It sounds like it would be nice but nope, it works really really bad.

Accuweather follows the greedy path.

I have been using Accuweather for many years. I could see that the amount of Ads being pushed were being steadily increasing. The final straw was the ads that started popping up in the Chrome browser when I wasn't even using the Accuweather app. It is obvious that their code is now affecting the operating of my desktop, laptop, tablet, and phones. I understand the need for advertising however this has turned into pure greed and, in doing so, has convinced me to move on to another weather app. It is actually too bad since the site was great initially. I didn't have an issue with the ads but over the years it became apparent that the management has moved from offering a product that their Customers liked and trusted to one that is intrusive, frustrating, and potentially harmful to the devices it is installed on. They have changed their 'No Ad' plans to containing ads and flooded every part of the app with ads. Many businesses follow this same path and end up failing. The Customer isn't stupid and most will eventually see what is happening and leave. Another company will see that there is an opportunity and will cater to them and grow (unless, of course, they hire greedy individuals that don't care about their customers either).

Consistently inaccurate …

Consistently inaccurate and sometimes dangerously so. For example, at the moment (6:30, 24.9.24) we have had a tremendous downpour of rain for the last 20 minutes here in Florence, Italy. The app has no clouds on its radar and “no precipitation within 60 minutes” when looking at the daily forecast. Similar inaccuracies for southern UK weather 30-40% of the time.

Scam advertisements

I have used this site for a few years. The metrologists for this company do a pretty good job. They are not right all of the time but I particularly like the weather radar and access it often to form my own judgment as to their predictions. Over the years I developed a trust of the company, Like many other similar sites, their revenue is derived from advertisements and in that regard they will accept the ads from scam companies. Of course they will plead plausible deniability but they have to know that they are setting-up visitors to be robbed. I recently fell victim to an ad. posted on their site. STAY AWAY FROM PRODUCTS ADVERTISED ON THIS SITE.

Amazing website

Amazing website, very interactive map and.. well.. accurate!

I think the reason behind all the negative reviews is that no one is going to go on a weather website, see the correct weather and leave a good review but many will (and have) leave bad reviews if it's wrong and they're upset.

Evening ruined after app showed rain at 4pm and then a clear evening. Absolutely poured down from 5pm until 9pm leaving everyone at an outdoor concert soaked through to the skin. Had to leave early as so cold and wet!

Need to stick to the facts

Accuweather it is not for you to say if the weather is "nice" or not. Just forecast the weather, the facts. We do not need your opinion on hot, humid conditions being "nice and warm" We don't all enjoy being uncomfortably hot.

OK so 0% chance of rain forecast by…

OK so 0% chance of rain forecast by AccuWeather and yes, a two hour thunderstorm added much later in the days forecast. Ruining my outdoor project. What good are they when they backdate the weather forecast. Might as well stick your head out the window. Time to change the name to inaccuweather.

After 30 years using this great company…

After 30 years using this great company their ads have gotten out of control and annoying. I like other customers do not want to pay for information that is really available for free. Will check back in a year and again you were THE BEST!
